Please could you do a short video on how to release oarse fish safely? You reach a wide audience and i've seen people lobbing fish back into the pools, releasing softly by letting fish swim out of their hands, and small swings into the water.
I was using pedigree chum mixers 40yrs ago, before it became popular. A friend and I were fishing a lake near Oulton park where there was a carp fishing match. I was having a fish a chuck. Nobody else was catching, but I emptied the place. Two guys fishing the match came over and I gave them some of my bait, and they caught. I have to admit, I stole the idea from a friend who was using cat buiscuits, I only had dogs, so thought I would try the dog biscuits. At the time the chum mixers were chum mixers with gravy. I soaked the mixers in warm water to make them spongy, so it stayed on the hook, but the hook pulled straight out on the strike. I was fishing 8 to 12 feet from the bank ( actually it was a wall, about 3-4 feet deep.) It was the best day carp fishing I’ve ever had.
I love my tost paste. Get sliced fresh tost bread. Pour water and liquid smell of your choice (i use scopex) in bucket. Soak toast bread 3-4 seconds in spiced water, and then put slices in another empty bucket. When every slice is soaked, mash them with fingers, and sprinkle it with few handfull of groundbait until you get paste (depending how much groundbait you put, its stiffer or looser). I use paste around wire spiral 25-45g freerunning feeders. Because of bread, liquid, and groundbait smell combined, fish really like it😁. Hookbait can be anything (worms, pinkies, corn, pellet...)
thankyou. due to your video's you have ignited my passion for angling after a 25 year absence, catching up with all the new methods I fell like a novice all over again. Myself and my 12 year old twin daughters are hooked on your videos & all 3 of us are learning together and loving it, please keep it up :)
Awesome videos man, you've got me back into freshwater fishing after 15 years which has helped me turn my life around! Thank you soo much i know you probably hear that alot but you truly have keep it up and keep inspiring people to do/live better!
@fishingtutorials cheers bud, keep inspiring people and making these amazing videos! If you're ever in and around Plymouth lemme know it'd be amazing to meet you guys I'll be getting your book as soon as I get paid it looks amazing!
As a US carper, bullhead catfish and bluegill are the bane of my existence. Definitely going to try some fake corn along with my strawberry jello/panko bread crumb/sweetcorn mix and see if that helps keep bait on my rig!
I started carp fishing in 2001 when i was 18 . My rigs were very simple and mainly used natural or small baits . Now i have all the latest gear and baits but sometimes you can't beat using a float and a worm for bait 😂
I've had good results with lupin seeds, which I understand are popular with French carp anglers. I prepare them much like other particles, 48-hour soak, followed by 40 minutes in a pressure cooker. You can mount two or three on a hair rig, but I've found just a single seed, hair-rigged, works best for me, regularly catching me commons to 17lb. on my local water.
@@fishingtutorials this video really helped me the water I fish is really pressured so I put a pice of pepperoni on in a solid bag and had my pb at 20lb on the dot.thanks Carl
Whole corn works like a charm on carp and catfish - my buddies and I used to use this long ago and would catch tons of fish with this technique. Only thing is that your throw a whole can of corn out at near sunset and come back at the next sunrise and start reeling them in using a single piece of corn on the bottom on a number 6 or 8 hook - I liked the number 8 hook the best - yeah! really does work well
When I use luncheon meat I like to use a Parisien spoon or commonly known as a melon Baller. I’m a chef by trade and tried it one day and obviously it then presents itself just like boile And just rolls along the river bed thanks for all the advice that you give in you’re videos all the best
I am 55 years old, and I learned to fish with bamboo rods and how to float the cork. The best lures are the ones that are homemade. I use a lot of corn and bait. Grated cheese, honey, vanilla, strawberry syrup, banana, cherry, anise. This is in the summer. In winter I use worms, maggots, fish kibble and anchovy oil. The boiles? I'll leave them to those who don't know how to fish. 😅 Because the real fisherman must also know how to make bait
I agree that bread is the best bait. It's easily available everywhere, it's cheap as chips, I pay 75p for a large, thick sliced loaf. Best of all, carp and other fish all love it! It can be fished on the bottom or on the surface! I've even caught perch on bread. Best all round bait IMHO.
If you cut your Spam into slices then fry it on two sides until it goes very light brown it puts a nice surface on it. Then you can cut it into chunks and it stays on your hook or hair for a long time
Great video showing the different kinds of bait its a minefield out their . However would like to just run back to spam i use it a lot on my local waters and have great success with meat screws they hold the bait well had a lot less falling off since using them they come in metal or plastic/nylon . Middy also do a range of pre tied hook to nylon with meat screws . Though i prefer to tie my own using the plastic screw as the point on the metal variety is a bit sharp and in my opinion could damage a fish if digs in while playing it
Also worth noting. The use of tiger nuts are banned on many waters because people dont know how to prepare them correctly so just double check with where ever you are going before you do use them and learn how to prepare them properly. I think you had to boil them and leave them soaking in water for a long time to get them safe for the carp to eat.
Hi Carl, what is your opinion in mixing different flavours and brands in spod mix and different for hookbait. For example spod mix (nasbaits scopex squid, cell) and for hookbait sticky the krill?
Great video as usual. Just wanted some extra incite on how to avoid having turtle disturbance as they make it impossible to fish. I found this very slow moving river with a good stock of big wild carp but the turtles make it unfishable. What could I do other than rigging up the fake corn?
i use enterprise and ESP fake corn beacuse they work like a pop-up and it sits a little bit up from the bottom and i like to use it with groundetd particles in pva bagc with some goo
Yogurt powder is ausum to add to your mix cheap too here in oz we have to be inventive as we can’t get what you guy get in tackle shops in the uk we can get some baits but it’s very expensive my go to mix is 500 gr of bread crims 1 can of sweet corn 1 packet of yogurt mix for method feeders bait cukk corn , wafters, tiger nuts
I am Curious to know whats your favourite bait to use. I go with my dad and he has like 50 different types of boilies with different oils and liquids and he changes his baits so often. Also is it better to fish the same baits for all 3 rods or should you try different baits and hookbaits?
From my experience: Corn - Cheap, colorful, but attractive to small fishes Rape - More expensive than corn, not much visible, very attractive and can be very smelly. Big carps love this. Its very soluble Boilies - Small boilies for fast catch, bigger boilies for big carps Pellets - Soluble, very attractive for fast takes pop up boilies - attractive, but some big fishes find it suspicious
take bread and mix it with egg yoke make it in to a big ball and take small parts make into small balls and put it in to hook. ps ;u can add all sort of mixes for flavors in to egg yoke
Sorry mate, they're not available. I got some made to test, but unfortunately the cost is still too high. Would love to if we're able to make it work cost-wise one day.
Why aren't you adding the option for Turkish subtitles? 😔Please add Turkish subtitles to your previous and future videos. Your videos are valuable to me.🥰
I believe using frozen shrimp from the grocery store as bait is illegal where I live, supposedly due to risk of imported farm raised shrimp introducing viruses that could harm crawfish and other local crustaceans.
Carl, I've got a question you may be able to answer. Ok, Without being too graphic, we as humans eat sweetcorn, and it passes through our bodies undigested, it comes out whole, ok. So, as we know, fish love sweetcorn and we catch them on it all the time. My question is, do they digest it and break it up inside their bodies? I can't imagine they would be physically able to pass a whole grain so I'm thinking their stomachs contain acids which digest it/break it up. Would you agree with this?
Yeah sometimes! I love Newdigate fisheries, it's lovely day ticket (no night fishing). This is where we caught some lovely golden orfe. They have carp, good tench, rudd etc. lots of fishing options and lakes to choose from ruclips.net/video/TARfOOiFGmQ/видео.html & ruclips.net/video/pkAa6996pBE/видео.html

Not horse feed 😂
