Holy fuck, they really knocked it out of the park this time. Congratulations to one of my favourite bands of all time! Having so much fun listening, singing and playing along to this album already. Incredible work! Feels like the time Vol:3 came out all over again. Love it!

Just wanted to say a massive, massive thank you to everyone who watched this, liked it or subscribed because of it, I honestly cannot thank you all enough! I didn't even think I was going to post this and I'm truly glad I did. Just for the record, I do not wish to BE Corey or to copy his entire vocal style, but what is the truth, is that Corey is one of my all-time favourite vocalists, if not my favourite of them all. I've always resonated with his voice the most and I've simply taken huge influence from his vocal style, which in turn has helped me find my own voice. So with that said, I have nothing but all the love in the world for Corey Taylor. Because of his art and his passion, it's inspired me to to find my own path, along with countless others and I truly hope that if he was ever to see this, he'd know it's all for the love and passion for HIS music and music as a whole, not for imitation and that I've pinched influences from many great vocalists. From James Hetfield to Chester Bennington to Kurt Cobain to David Draiman, just to name a few. Going forward, as a unique artist of my own, I do not wish to sound like Corey at every turn, but if you hear any similarities, it's only because of the parts his style I've fused as my own, along with all the others. Corey's voice during that period is just unbelievable and it's still my favourite growl I've ever heard. I guess my style has become a love letter to Corey's IOWA voice.
@@SovereignKing ;) as I said in past comments I try to sing in growl on Slipknot songs, at that time after 2 years I learnt the base technique so I can sing with a powerful voice on low notes..but wtf how can you scream in those high notes?lol

Jonathan Brunner No training (yet)Just lots of trial and error. I’m at a point where I can do this technique and not feel any pain in my vocal chords or voice, but I definitely want to work with a vocal coach and learn how to control my voice as best as I can!

Was just scrolling through my front page and stumbled upon this, thought to myself "oh okay lets have a listen although it is nearly impossible to do justice to Corey's voice". Safe to say you did just that and absolutely killed it, amazing stuff man and mad props!

The Grimwiz If you look for my first ever Slipknot vocal cover of ‘Devil In I’ you can hear how I began and my screaming wasn’t even that; it was just using the vocal-fry technique. Then every video since has documented my trial and error on getting a technique down that’ssimilar to Corey’s but one where it won’t damage my voice or give me any pain. 4-5 years later and this is the result thus far!
I always remember Chester Bennington saying that he just spent time in a room screaming every day and that’s how he perfected his scream. So it’s similar to that. It’s like working out, you have to exercise it and build up the strength over time. Remember we’ve all got a natural screaming voice, because we use to do it as babies! It’s just finding what works for you man but you won’t know until you try.

The Grimwiz Thank you so much for the support! And yes, I agree, Chester is one of the GOATs along with Corey. Another tip I have, is to get yourself a mic and an audio interface to plug into some music software so you can hear yourself at a higher volume, whilst using headphones. It’s so much easier to find your voice and scream by turning your voice up through a mic, rather than trying to scream at full volume in a room on your own. That way you don’t scream every thing at full volume, you can pace yourself and when to go full on and when to hold back etc. - let me know how you get on man!
@@SovereignKing that's literally all the good tips and advices I could've gotten from anyone, plus you're experienced. I was screaming at the maximum pitch always, now with your advice, I'll try to level my scream pitch according to its needs. I used to sing, screaming is fairly new for me mate. So I don't know if I'm doing it right or it's just vocal fry or whatever they call it. I'll practice and keep practicing until I meet me expectations. Thanks a lot buddy, you're awesome.
