I'd probably get it for Switch but not for PC.
What a gem of a game! So there is still hope for gaming! It reminded me of a mix of Shatterhand (or Power Blade), with a splash of Contra and Batman 2!

My type of game!
This game got started as a game for a retro game jam on itch.
I loved it then and have been followin its development since. So I bought it on launch day and beat it the next day. It was amazing seeing that diamond in the rough polished into a gem. And the ending music was amazing.
5:39 i'm getting strong "NES Alien 3" vibes from that music.
Looks like the Power blade Games on Nes. The trailer convinced me to add this to my wishlist. Definitely buying it!
Can anyone tell if this kind of sound was possible with the original NES? Or what soundchip does this soundtrack emulate. I'm aksin cause I can't get those nice guitar sound just with a pulse or triangle wave. I think this must be a Saw Waveform, what do yout think. The Soundtrack rocks by the way.

Pretty sure I'll be picking this up at some point; the first thing I saw when I looked at this was Shatterhand, and I was wondering if I still had the patience for something that difficult, but the more I see the better it looks. Really like that boss shown here with the different blocks, too; the game screams Shatterhand and Power Blade so loudly that I certainly didn't expect a throwback to one of the more obscure bosses from Blaster Master, of all things.
Also, this review made me realize how weird it is that questionable food items in retro games are so common, but the focus is almost always on the mysterious dungeon-roasted wall chicken from Castlevania; eating a roast from a drumcan in the slums is just as likely to put you in the hospital, but nobody mentions it.
There's a ton of customization for difficulty. There's 3 preset difficulty modes or you can do custom which lets you change just about any value in the game you can imagine.

Hope this comes to Switch
I'm giving thought to if I want to spend 17 bucks on it right now. Looks worth it in quality, now just wondering how much play time I'll get out of it which includes desire for any replay when it's completed. I'm also wondering if it would be more enjoyable for handheld play on Switch or having it blown up on a 4K 55" tv using my Xbox.

Looks cool but it's 8 bit graphics, literally. I like games with a modern polish. Games like Gunbrella and Nuclear Blaze.
I just finished Gunbrella so get it, great game. I just wish it was longer cuz it was so fun. This game didn't keep track of time so I don't know how much time I had in it.
