I love how, even though they're barely visible at the beginning of the phrase, it's not just that he's wearing the same shirt...he's also wearing the same pink shorts. Priceless.
Geoff’s scream was a goat scream that Layne edited in during post production. However during the video shoot, he did do a scream and it was quite high.
Now, if they add in a goat scream, does that still count as Acapella? Would the goat be considered a singer or a voice or would it be considered an instrument? Hhmmmmm. 🤣
@@chrisjung7139 I think we count the goat as a guest singer since it was made by a living creature with the use of vocal cords. At least that's my take on it.
I hate to ruin everyones lives with this info but the goat scream is a stock sound effect. the goat did not make that noise it was a human being and its a sound effect somebody overlayed over a goat bleating im so sorry everyone but your life is a lie
I love the fact that Voiceplay can consistently reduce you to a quivering wreck. Geoff was slightly less Disney Princess in the flowery blouse & pink shorts with his own check socks & shoes we got to see in the behind the scenes! I thought Geoff's original scream was pretty good but they thought the goat was funnier. I think you'll like Geoff's latest Big Bad John a song I've never liked but Geoff's turned me round as usual.
I agree whole-heartedly about how he and/or Voice Play, and also Home Free, can take a song someone might not like, but absolutely love their cover! Geoff definitely made me love his cover!

I saw the preview as a member of their patreon, and when Ashley started singing Isabella's verse, I was watching Geoff and thinking, "Boy, I'm getting a little jealous, the way he's looking at her". And then, just a few seconds later, I realized he had just been coveting her wardrobe, and everything was all right! How soon is Goeff going to start appearing in the "Favorite Disney Princess" polls?
You have to give Voiceplay credit Geoff's "Disney Princess " moment has cracked up every reactor so far. I haven't seen one video stun so many reactors in the same spot since Voiceplay's cover of Hoist the Colours
Love your reactions, One thing I notice about this was that when Ashley and Geoff sang as Isabella, Layne covered the bass line and actually went pretty low(Eb2). It’s quite impressive with how talented he is. Ofc he could ALSO sing solidly into the bass territory. as we know, we hear him as a “tenor” in many of the times we’ve heard him sing. But our boy layne is a baritone. (Maybe even low baritone because I forgot to mention he can hit a really decent B1 which we hear in voiceplays cover of everywhere you look) Lol sorry for this ramble, I really love music and how the voice can do so many things and be trained to do so many things. Thank you for taking the time to go back and notice Layne's ending. I've seen a couple of reactors notice it, but it comes so close to the end, and it's so quick that many seem to miss in entirely. One reactor I watched just yesterday (Daniel Earnest, uploaded 10 March) did note that this is one of Layne's techniques called "Inhale singing." I'm not 100% certain, but I think I've also come across comments that Kevin Olusola of PTX also uses this technique so that he can keep the beat going without passing out or hyperventilating.

In the bts video on Patreon, Geoff said he would react and leave Cesar to scream, then Geoff did a very passable scream that they realised sounded like the goat scream. Because it is so honest and at the same time teaching healthy expectation management and how to properly enjoy things you want to enjoy. 😊 It's something I have been learning recently in a certain game and it's not easy because just being told may not fully register... And most importantly, actively enjoying things doesn't make that joy fake! It's for yourself not others, rage is easy but if you know that you CAN enjoy it then it can be worth checking your mindset like that... I am still practicing because I tend to be rather emotional, easily agitated and somewhat petty. So it is actually important to my own mental health to practice joy for my own benefit. I am not a content creator so I can rest assured its definitely for me and only me but even learning it from content creators - I think it resonated because I could tell they were doing it for themselves and not the audience and it therefore became something that might be relevant to me as well. Well this was a bit of a long rant, but I hope it helps anyone who may associate with what I described. It takes 1001 times to even understand and even longer to put into practice but if you read this maybe it helps you stumble through a few of these steps. And keep in mind (also a reminder to myself) that it's not a bad thing to be learning this "only just now"... if you weren't taught to handle emotions like this, then it's a feat to even arrive here and it will definitely help yourself first and foremost. And sometimes when I am more at peace with myself I am starting to notice others have an easier time responding to me as well. Moreso at least than when I am in my tempestuous outbursts and a more even tempered individual can't tell that I am more affectation/letting steam than genuine anger... and it used to make me uncomfortable when their empathy caused them to try and change the situation for me when I wasn't even aiming for that. Oops it got even longer. Anyway... emotional processing is difficult and this is a very healthy exqmple that I will tuck away in my heart to use for myself❤

In the behind the scenes we get to see that they filmed the petal section at double speed and then slowed it down for the video. In order to get the petals to look like they’re just wafting 💨🌸 by rather than being blasted into their face (which is really what happened) they had to use not only an industrial fan but a leaf blower! It was pretty amazing to watch them do that section at double speed. But the effect especially with Geoff gently waving hand is worth it. 🙋 By the way, they did a very short mini of surface pressure and it is available on Instagram and TicTikTok

The best thing about VoicePlay is that they are ALL so awesomely talented. I would bet any of them would rock the charts in a traditional band as a lead singer. And here I am on what must be my 20th listen to this cover, and I'm *just* now realising that when Cesar is taking Dolores' part, the backing vocals are saying "the man of my dreams, of *his* dreams". It's so subtle but so good that they decided to put in that element of representation.

I watched the Behind the Scenes video for this on their patreon, the scream is the goat scream. They did a few tries (Cesar did a really good one ^^) but none like in the actual music video. Also, the scene where the flower petals are floating towards them. they had to film it double speed, so the music was sped up to a large degree since Kathy just threw the petals over a large floor fan

It is inhale singing. Layne can actually hit A0 with it, and that's one lower than Geoff can do. He does it as the last note of SH-Boom.

And here I am on what must be my 20th listen to this cover, and I'm *just* now realising that when Cesar is taking Dolores' part, the backing vocals are saying "the man of my dreams, of *his* dreams". It's so subtle but so good that they decided to put in that element of representation.

I hate reviews that constantly pause. That being said, I watched this whole review without fast forwarding. Your genuine reactions at each pause (and the fact that this cover “broke you” hilariously several times) made the pausing all worth it. Happy birthday! I believe they decided to not going with ALL the parts overlapping in the end because they needed to leave the three main vocalists to sing each one a part while Layne and Geoff do the "music" part and Camilo's part was an important part.
Loved the reaction, but I was having SO MUCH FUN watching your interplay with the offscreen Mason and his onscreen comments!! That adds such a really fun layer and I would totally LOVE to see more of that. I think that would make you even more different than the "run of the mill" reactors, though you're quite different already! 😉 (And I mean that in only the best ways!)

I watched the Behind the Scenes video for this on their patreon, the scream is the goat scream. They did a few tries (Cesar did a really good one ^^) but none like in the actual music video.
Also, the scene where the flower petals are floating towards them. they had to film it double speed, so the music was sped up to a large degree since Kathy just threw the petals over a large floor fan
