Two of my favorite things in this song were Geoff's bass line sliding right into Layne's throat bass and Anthony's high riff up to Eli continuing it at the high note at the end (the oooooo, rip it off). Loved your reaction! Sorry the heat is crazy. Hopefully you can get your AC fixed soon!

Eli hits SIX E5s! Layne is being called a veceliraptor (sp) by What it do Dave. This was shot in a disused mall in the same centre where Pattycake Productions is. They had to cover up some of the graffiti before they could shoot.
Sounds as if you have the same climate VP have had to film in lately😂. When filming Valhalla the AC was broken and they had furs on. Likewise there was no AC in that old mall. Oh,how you all suffer for art!😅 PS MagicMason, I adore your editing.

I'm with you on that bit by Eli. Yeah, I can hit that in head voice, certainly not in chest with some vocal fry added in. Geoff gets a lot of the attention, but I've been more amazed by Eli's singing for a while. I thought he was phenomenal a year ago. Then he just keeps getting better by leaps and bounds. I'd love it if he did some solo work like Geoff does.

It took me several tries to understand what I was seeing. Each fellow came in via a specific route. The cameras pick them up but then they split those entrances into 3 or 4 pieces (Cesar starts low on the escalator, next view of that picks up where it left off, and so on. Each of the guys had the same type of pieces.) It was easiest to see on Cesar's progress up the escalator. Layne was doing things with what he found on the floor - against a wall, throwing the pipe. I also saw you singing in the VoicePlay Appreciation Project giving VoicePlay a tribute to Just Sing. I wanted to know how you got Cesar's shirt!

I keep saying it but I really do think that VP are aliens - how else could they possibly make such unearthly sounds?? 😵💫 Obviously there's some effects added to their voices during production but even so....... 🤷♀The last few videos in particular from them they just keep raising the bar! Apparently Layne was using an inward breath bass technique quite a bit in this and he can get as low as Geoff by using it. Someone somewhere said there seemed to have been a bit of blending of the pair of them going on for lows and vocal perc - I have no musical knowledge (other than knowing what I like!) so I have no idea if that's correct. Whatever was going on this was a fabulous offering from the guys. I'm not a fan of The White Stripes or this song generally but I love this; the highs, the lows, the vocal perc, the runs from Anthony and the sass from Cesar - what an awesome combination! Hope you get your air con sorted soon and things become a bit more bearable for you.

Laine gave Liz and the viewers a tour of his electronic/software suite and what it could do for post production work. I've got a sneaking suspicion he's modifying and layering like mad in a few key spots in this song.
I just recently found you thru your work survival notebook video, so nice to see a new video from you! I’ve used a hobonichi aven myself for 3 years, as I also like to do things sequentialy and have the overview of tasks. I find that there isn’t really enough space in weekly columns, se recently switched to a Take A note A5 hourly weekly on 4 pages, so each day has half a page. Also means there is enough space, so I don’t need the dailies. Maybe its something that could suit you aswell? Not much space for photos though. What do you do with tasks that needs to be done on a future day, but you know that there will be other to dos mixed in between? I struggle with what to do with those, as I want them organized in the order that I need to do them. Hope it makes sense 😅

I keep saying it but I really do think that VP are aliens - how else could they possibly make such unearthly sounds?? 😵💫 Obviously there's some effects added to their voices during production but even so....... 🤷♀The last few videos in particular from them they just keep raising the bar!
Apparently Layne was using an inward breath bass technique quite a bit in this and he can get as low as Geoff by using it. Someone somewhere said there seemed to have been a bit of blending of the pair of them going on for lows and vocal perc - I have no musical knowledge (other than knowing what I like!) so I have no idea if that's correct. Whatever was going on this was a fabulous offering from the guys. I'm not a fan of The White Stripes or this song generally but I love this; the highs, the lows, the vocal perc, the runs from Anthony and the sass from Cesar - what an awesome combination!

Oregon?!? I'm up in Washington! If you ever come up to Seattle to visit, I would LOVE to show you around Pike Place, and that kind of thing XD I know quite a few dangerous(ly good) places in the Puget Sound area XD But yeah, this video was amazing. Well, both videos ;) Though, I did make a little bit of a tactical error when I first watched this one. Right before it, I watched a video from Colm McGuinness, which was a metal cover of Misty Mountains... sung in Tolkien's Dwarvish. I never wondered what Dwarivsh would sound like in screamo metal... but I now know. And it is terrifying XD

Mortius, did you ever watch Elizabeth Zharoff's, Charismatic Voice interview with Laine? The interview happened back when the light at the top end of the rabbit hole was still visible.
Laine gave Liz and the viewers a tour of his electronic/software suite and what it could do for post production work. I've got a sneaking suspicion he's modifying and layering like mad in a few key spots in this song.
I just recently found you thru your work survival notebook video, so nice to see a new video from you! I’ve used a hobonichi aven myself for 3 years, as I also like to do things sequentialy and have the overview of tasks. I find that there isn’t really enough space in weekly columns, se recently switched to a Take A note A5 hourly weekly on 4 pages, so each day has half a page. Also means there is enough space, so I don’t need the dailies. Maybe its something that could suit you aswell? Not much space for photos though.
What do you do with tasks that needs to be done on a future day, but you know that there will be other to dos mixed in between? I struggle with what to do with those, as I want them organized in the order that I need to do them. Hope it makes sense 😅

I've heard that Geoff used to be both bass and beatboxer for their group and taught Layne how, who then perfected it to the level he's at now.
It wouldn't surprise me if that whole bit was still possibly Geoff dipping into his own beatboxing. So I ask, are you sure that is Layne?
