Thank You for your hard work. Your videos are clear and precise. Excellent content that makes clear sense that I use all the time. Keep it up!
Finally someone talked about this. I use 0w20 on my 2015 camry and the outside temperature 🌡 is almost 50c 😅
06 CVPI Ford says 5W-20. I considered 5w-30 but never did. 258k miles runs great doesn't burn oil so I'm just gonna use what manufacturer recommends.
No way thousands of cars running 0w20 with 300k miles.
What cars use 0w20 subaru. Which maker is infamous for oil consumption? Subaru.
You bought wrong car and didn’t watch video without skipping
I run QS Ultimate Protection 5W-20 during the summer months in my 2010 Camry with the 2.5
During the winter it gets 0W-20 QS ultimate protection.
Engines designed with tight clearances require thinner oils than the older designs did. Oil has several tasks to perform in a ICE configuration.
These motoroil weights are popular in Thailand. About as hot as you will find. Heavy stop and go traffic with AC loading all day long.
2010 Camry 2.5.....0W-20......240K......Originaly changed at 5K, because of miles now doing 3K mile Oil Changes.......Live in Louisiana.....Daily Driver.....Highway miles @ 50 Plus a Day.......No Oil added between changes......
“But, but, but, but people typing in the comments say otherwise!!” 😜
My 2021 4Runner TRD ORP has had 0W20 since it left the factory and it’s more than sufficient. It just happens to be what the manufacturer states I should use. Also says I can use 5w20 but it calls for 0W20 so that’s what I use and I’ve had no issues. I change every 5k miles because I don’t want to go 10k miles because I want my truck to be my last purchase and it very well can be provided some idiot doesn’t drive recklessly and cause my insurance company to total my beloved yota 4Runner of course. Now someone will reply to my comment saying “you shouldn’t use 0w20 because blah blah blah and I work for blah and I know everything” but that’s ok. I’ll continue my 5k oil changes and continue using 0W20.
Good stuff brother!
God bless~
Soli Deo Gloria~
Years ago if you bought a new car the oil would be changed at 650 miles. With the recent problems on the Toyota Tundra this seems like a good idea . What are your thoughts? Enjoyed video.
1. Issues is overblown and over exaggerated.
2. Everyone that claims that they know what the issues is, is spreading false information to gain attention and views.
3. Simple $30 dollars oil analysis can reveal millions of dollars valuable information that people afraid to see.
4. Without oil analysis, safe to say change your oil on new tundra every 3k miles or 3 months which ever comes.
5. There are turbo tundra with over 100k miles and no engine problems, how do you explain this?
It gets to thin because of fuel dilution and the GDI system is the cause not oil weight. People dont change oil in those cars and then blame oil.
@repairvehicle - My garage always uses 5w30 in summer time (June) on my 2015 Yaris with 95,000m, but in autumn/winter time ie Roughly after October i change my oil to 0w20. Is that ok?
What would you recommend for Tropical countries like the Philippines
I live in the Philippines and use 0W-20 Amsoil.
0W-20 is the recommended viscosity called for in the maintenance manual and is what you should always use. What's important is to use a good quality oil.
I see so many here in the Philippines using heavy oil in new cars that requires thin oil like 0W-20, so always go by what the manual calls for and use good oil.
In Japan they now use 0W-8 in many cars like Toyota, Honda, Nissan and others, they export those cars around the world with 0W-8 and require you to use that viscosity.
@@piratecovephilippines4711 In C.A.F.E. countries, yes. In non C.A.F.E. counties the manufacturer recommendation often goes up two viscosity grades, even in cooler climate countries
since turbos do harder wear in tear on engine how would ams oil fight against turbo engines?
I don’t understand your question
Do u still use 0w20 in your 3urfe tundra?
Yes
@repairvehicle have you ever used 5w20 or 5w30 in the 3urfe
@jasonc3po no, currently testing 5w-20 to see if it’s any better than 0w-20
Have you ever tried Triax CVT? Is it any good?
I tried their motor oil and wasn’t impressed. I would not try thier cvt fluid
I just put Triax CVT fluid in my Nissan Murano and it seems great. I have also used Castrol ATF/CVT and Amsoil CVT. The Amsoil is quite pricey, but good stuff too.
@redlywaxer how many miles on Nissan?
@@redlywaxer Triax brand CVT oil has attractive pricing!! But my cuz has 40,000mi on original fluid so figure maybe let’s just stick with. I’ll have to discuss further with him. Maybe we won’t waste it afterall…
@@redlywaxer you’re brave! Seems like you’ve run a wide variety of CVT fluid brands! Perhaps the biggest factor is regular maintenance rather than brand of fluid…
People always parrot what they hear but those same people can never back up their claims. Also people always make general statements on things , such as that product is not good or you should never do this or that, but when I ask them why….all I get are crickets. As a retired Auditor, I need cold hard facts and not opinions.
It all depends on the type of driving you do, climate, terrain, and your bearing clearances. But yes there are times you need to increase your viscosity but it’s usually in extreme cases.
Now toyota have 0w-8
Correct
Junkkk
@issavibez394 Wrong!! 0W8 is the correct weight of oil for the bearing clearance of that Particular engine.
What's the bearing clearance specs on the A25a vs. the 2AR-FE? @@404notfound.....
@@404notfound..... "Bearing clearance" excuse. It's BS. You believe in BS.
ams oil finally came out with 0w16 signature series thank god...
@@takusungjung3894 too thin
