- Just Stop Oil protesters have targeted the Magna Carta in their latest environmental stunt.
Two protesters, aged 85 and 82, cracked the glass case surrounding the royal charter at the British Library in central London on Friday morning.
The library holds two of the four surviving copies of the Magna Carta, with the others at Lincoln Cathedral and Salisbury Cathedral.

I don't think this is about just stop oil, it just feels wrong. Just stop oil ware hi viz vests and look like failed students of the woke generation. This feels more like my pension isn't enough and I need medical assistance and housing. 😢 These two are from the generation that have benefitted the most from oil but are treated the worst in retirement 😢
When these go to hospital in an ambulance, it will have oil for the engine, and probably diesel oil.

It is quite possible they didn't mean to damage the book, just alert everyone to their message. But this type of stunt makes people angry at them, its not effective in the least to motivate people over to their cause, it does the opposite.
