- Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by former cricketer Geoffrey Boycott, Just Stop Oil protester Chloe Naldrett and environmental campaigner Donnachadh McCarthy to discuss the latest Just Stop Oil protest which took place today at Lords cricket ground in the Ashes match between England and Australia and whether these eco-protests are effective in getting their message across to the public.
Piers starts by hailing Jonny Bairstow a hero for carrying one of the protesters off the pitch and slams the protests as just 'Wrecking everyone's fun' and no longer being effective in their message. Chloe explains that without these protests, people like herself and other eco-criticisers are nto invited onto shows to spread their message. Piers shuts down this claim however suggesting that civilised discussions and debates happen on this show daily and that these stunts are simply turning the public away from them.

I met one of these people last Christmas in the mall by my home. They were picketing a store that they deemed "dangerous" to society. That meeting ended with the protestor being dragged out of the mall. Losers everyone of them.

It's not about stopping oil...it's about energy companies spending a greater percentage of profit to expand renewable energy until we reach a point where we don't need oil, coal, or natural gas. The science is quite clear that we're destroying this planet. The latest is the scientific fact we have changed the tilt (balance) of Earth due to the irreplaceable removal of groundwater.

Not like they can justify ignoring bigger polluters like China. Protesting in China makes much more sense, since shutting down oil in UK won't make much difference on the international scale of oil usage anyway. If they insist on UK only, they need to present data proving that UK dying will prevent climate change disasters on a significant level, assuming that China keeps poisoning the planet on the same usual grand scale they do.

Where I live our summers are dry and hot . For three months it goes from 94-98 . About 4 times we go over 100 . People have been yelling global change and that we are getting hotter . The truth of it is , I am 64 and the weather is the exact same as when I was a child . And these protesters , they irritate me and I just shut them off . But when they destroy others property , they need to pay the consequences .
As I sit here in my 50's I have seen zero evidence in my life of a climate crisis, all the rivers are exactly the same depth, the floods we get are actually fewer than in the 70's, I have never experienced any summer as hot and prolonged as 1976, the only thing I have noticed is we don't get as much snow in winter however I was snowed in twice for 3+ days in the last 6 years with 5ft high drifts in my village. Every single climate emergency prediction in my lifetime for the UK has failed to materialise from the ozone layer giving us all skin cancer to half the country being underwater. The biggest thing I have noticed in all this "climate emergency" is the elites getting filthy rich touring the world preaching that us plebs give up our boilers, cars, holidays, meat etc while they have mansions and private jets. Your really have to be some kind of stupid not the see through this bullcrap.

I do not agree with any of the things they are doing block traffic or ruining matches is not a very good way of getting you point across and it will lead to the opposite in some cases with people buying more oil.

Ive got this one Piers. Today i'm identifying as an Eco-Protester. I fully apologise for all our actions on just stop oil. We have all behaved like childish spoilt privileged brats and should get a life and move on by only protesting without causing any disruption to normal everyday peoples lives.
I'm from Sri Lanka, AKA Ceylon, an island located in the Indian Ocean. Apart from our renowned tea exports, cricket is another legacy we inherited from the British during the colonial era. For generations, cricket has been cherished by Sri Lankans, and is like a religion for us. Deliberately trying to destroy a game like cricket, which brings joy to many people, is an unintelligent approach to conveying a message. Such actions only become a menace. If someone were to engage in such behavior during a match in our home grounds, it is highly likely that they would face even more severe consequences from the crowd.
How is it so hard for these people to figure out? Getting people to think about your cause doesn't help if what they think is "I hate your cause."
Not to mention, "Just Stop Oil" isn't a persuasive argument, it's just asserting your position.
Exactly what I’ve been thinking since they started showing up everywhere on the news. They don’t realize that you can’t just change from fossil fuels to wind turbine and solar energy overnight. It takes serious planning and that planning is happening but yet here they are inconveniencing the very people they claim to be fighting for.
