That is really sickening. The governments should pass laws that you do not have to stop for them. If they block a road or glue themselves to the highway, it should be counted as suicide. I know it sounds harsh, but if people didn't have to stop for them, they would probably stay out of the road.
I was thinking about this example before ..if it was his wife or baby in the back of a car being driven to hospital and couldn't get through I'm sure he'd very quickly change his mind then

I'm a anadian who lives on our Prairies and by golly I am going to invite that climate fella to come and live in my home during our long,hard winter. I was under the impression that it was illegal to be on the motorway as a pedestrian unless there is an emergency, so what on earth are law enforcers doing. If you or I stepped on the motorway we would be in the back of a police car in 5 minutes and then charged!!!!. Utterly disgraceful that nothing is done.

But if the Government were so foolish as to grant their present demand, in no time they would find another demand and be back on the street stopping traffic again (eg "Just Stop Coal"). They will effectively have become an unelected part of government. So there is no point in granting their first demand. But the Government knows this, so they will never get what they want.

Fossil fuels will always be needed. Balancing it with renewable energy is important, but only if it is done carefully and not rushed without proper planning and execution.
A threat? When you end anything in the words “or else,” it’s blackmail. He should have been arrested on the set.
It's as simple as this: there is not sufficient capacity to store (and infrastructure to distribute) on a national level when discussing renewable energy. There is nothing to migrate to, yet, so demanding we migrate away from fossil fuels to renewables is pointless because we can't, and we are decades away from being able to.
And anyone who thinks we will exchange a 3k energy bill for a £400 one is in cloud cuckoo land. Energy companies exist to make profit, not to provide their consumer base with cheap products. Or am I missing something ?
What you are missing is that almost all of those who concern themselves with the transition from fossil-based energy to renewables are incapable of performing or understanding the elementary calculations that show renewables are a lost cause. I'm talking about politicians, activists, media figures...

Look up Just Stop Oil: their website contains several helpful documents outlining in detail the alternative proposal they are asking for.
What is most ironic about the whole thing is they are protesting oil wearing products made from oil products, they are hypocrits of the worst order.
