@@JACB006 Patel's leaving the post had nothing to do with Sunak. She resigned during the Johnson regime collapse. It can be argued that her resignation was the last straw that collapsed Johnson. Note that JRM and Dorries stuck to the very end with Johnson and Patel did not.

Furlough was just spending other people’s money. I note their was no mention of the cosy deals with suppliers of all the medical provisions that were needed, and the parties! I’m 70 and voted Conservative all my life but I wouldn’t vote ever again for the lies, deceit, lack of delivery on the advantages of Brexit and the breathtaking general incompetence we have witnessed over the last 14 years. The working class in Britain have been subjected to an appalling name calling of bigotry, an inferior uneducated species class of people. This metropolitan Tory crowd have never understood that the people who voted for them wanted something in return, and that return was low or no immigration, and a complete break from the European Union, which was never delivered in parliament.

The idea that the public have short memories when it comes to being grateful for how this government handled the pandemic is disgusting. I remember house arrest all too well and it is why I will never vote for this shower again.
And politicians and their friends pocketing massive amounts from contracts - remember PPE, £37 billion on failed track and trace, thousands of old people killed in old people’s homes due to the Liverpool Care Pathway, etc etc. Never forgive and never forget.

Have always respected this man but he knows the Achilles heal of his party is their record on immigration and he did not address it. He was given an easy ride by the interviewers. Immigration is the main concern to most people including me. Reform are doing well purely because they are the only party offering real change to combat mass immigration. If the Tories had keep their promises to do the same and stop the boats they would have been unassailable, whatever the cost if living and level of tax.
What type of Government we want? One that speaks the truth, cares about the people not just about your position. Cut out greed and bring back accountability!

I started liking IDS when he felt empathy for that council estate girl and cried in that documentary… it was a real moment of humanity.
Furlough wasnt a good thing, it partly caused the 'cost of living' increase, massive borrowing is what caused monetary inflation

Brexit or no Brexit, Europe and the UK are economically "up the creek".
Neither Labour nor Conservative will effect the significant change the UK needs. It will be a baton change-over, not a course change.
Of the two, the EU has far more potential to weather the storm created by Putin, economically the aggregated EU economy has better growth and lower overal debt than the UK. Thus it can mange problems of regional inbalance better. Ther UK is getting poorer and even more unequal. Unless we rejoin and soon we will be an Argentina on the Channel. It certianly will not be the Singapore on Thames the Right wanted from Brexit!

To be fair, this was one of the best presentations I've heard from IDS - and I admire his spirit. There are decent people as well as others on all sides.
I wonder how many times my mother carted me off to Whipps Cross Hospital back in the 50s! Very sad to see that it seems to have been demolished....it was a bulwark of our district and it saved my cousin's life.

Didn't have to, but chose to spend and print vast sums of money unnecessarily and waste a lot of it too causing a lot of inflation and tax rises. I wish journalists would take these politicians to task on that.
