My granny bought one of these brand new back when it was new and gave it to me just recently. Still going strong strong
Best DIY Video I have seen yet. Have not done my upgrade yet, but feel very comfortable that by using this video as a guide, I will not have any problems getting the job done. Thanks for a job well done.
Thanks for this!! Added 8Gb RAM plus a 240Gb SSD replacement hard drive. for CA$80.00 have a real nice 23" touch screen running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Wow, is this thing fast now! My model is the HP Pavilion 23p-129 so the RAM upgrade was minutes. The HD replacement was longer, only because I had the 2.5 tray issues like you. So zip ties to the rescue!! My original HD is a 1Tb 5400rpm unit. Just too slow. The M/B Sata connection was raised on two posts, to match the position of the h/d in the cage. Hence the zip ties. Watching the Topg Gun 2 trailer now, pretty good sound and video quality for a 6+ year old machine!! Much appreciated your video! Cheers!
Just had one of these given to me on New Year's Eve. It had been bashed in the back which jammed the DVD drive. Opened it up and sure enough, the drive was badly buckled and irreparable. I went through my random laptop spares and found a 2010 Toshiba DVD drive with the same rear connector but different plastic faceplate. Changed over the internal bracket and external faceplate, re-installed it and it worked like a charm. I had no idea that any old laptop DVD drive (with the same connector) would work but it does. No need for expensive HP replacement parts. If that helps anyone - cheers!
PS... it's still a POS but it was free.
Nice you made it look so easy, but it has given me confidence that I can update my all in one HP Pavilion.😄
Nice work!
Great job and great video thanks for that.
After watching your video I was going to upgrade my 23 HP Beats special edition to i7 Intel + 16gb ram + two 1tb SSDs- win 8.1 oryginal os on first one and win 10 on second one [ DUALBOOT] and I have to say the machine is amazing now, just love it.
All the best
My sister literally just gave me one of these AIO computers yesterday, the same one! I’m going to upgrade it!
Did it speed it up? My Sister just gave me 1 too. Its SO SLOW it needs upgrade or given to someone else.
@@hardtofind66hlo i have the same pc did you found anything to speed it up?

Thank you so much for making this video!
Ssd so cheap and ram now this helped me decide to upgrade my old all in one PC, gonna do SSD, ram and check hp see if better graphics available, then pass that PC to one of the grandkids
Interesting video sir! I have a aio pc that my mom bought me few years back do u think upgrading pc ram will increase performance of it? Also what else can I upgrade in my pc which will make it run faster than before
Thank you. Going to try this on my dads computer. Is it necessary to back up? Is that what you’re putting on the usb? And how do I find compatible motherboard
Beberapa orang menganggap sepele perlunya kedudukan stabil dan solid untuk hard drive.
Tapi.....kestabilan dan kekokohan hard drive itu diperlukan, paling tidak; hal itu menjaga agar hard disk tidak mudah rusak.
Terimakasih Pak
Omg, I know right?? Totally!! My thoughts EXACTLY!!
I have a HP 19 AiO , and when I upgraded the HD to an ssd, I had to go the low cost route and just zip tied the ssd to the original hhd caddy

Can I update the RAM and Hard drive on my HP all-in-one, FMNVMPC, desktop pc?
Hey by any chance do you know how to upgrade a the processor I've got this All in one hp and I noticed that the processor is not strong enough to run a lot
I love your perfection and attention to detail But the solution for the hard drive with the wrong plate my favourite trick is a few blobs of hot glue on the sides of the connectors and it's not popping off without help and hot glue is non conducive grate on fpv drone components so I'm shure it will be fine for pc
Laptop different story lots of movement then go with silicone just takes longer to dry
Where can I get a a screen for replacement for my hp pavilion 20 all in one
Could i use 2x 8Gb sticks to get 16gb in total or is the overall 8gb really a thing and I need to use max 2x 4gb sticks?
Double sided tape would've been easy for the lightweight SSD
Great video! What's the maximum ram this pc can take? And do you have a link or name of the type needed? I used your ssd link, thanks for the recommendation.
What RAM did you use? Thx
Should we use laptop ram or desktop ram
Brilliant use of zip ties. They are so important in a fix-it kit.
Can i change the processor in this pc? Thank you
Cool video. Does the SSD improved the booting and overall performance of the PC? Because I've read in some forum that it doesn't do much. Planning to upgrade my old HP AIO Touchsmart520. Thanks!
I was having problems with speed on my laptop. I mean like it was taking 4 to 5 minutes to get booted up. I installed an SSD of the same size that was in my laptop and was shocked as how much it speeded up the boot process as well as day to day computing. My system now boots in less then 20 seconds and I am happy as a lark that I went to an SSD drive.
Is 8 GB ram the max that will fit in those 2 slots ?
What about upgrading an HP Pavillion laptop?
please give ram details of this pc. please
You can use Orico 1125SS HDD 2.5" to 3.5" adapter. Voila.
Do i need to download drivers onto usb?
Can you upgrade the video card / memory in this computer? Thank you for this video.
You can upgrade the memory and hard drive, but that's about it. Everything else is integrated.
What ram stick to use? Where can I get it?
Nice video. I have a HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a010 , do i need a SSD same size as current one 1TB? i do no that much of a memory but i wonder if SSD capacity should be same as the one in the factory . I hope you can comment. Thanks
You can go with a smaller SSD, in this one I used a 240gb SSD.
@@LowDoughTech thanks for the response. I have no idea about compatibility...any advice about what ssd is compatible for this AIO?
other question, have you upgraded a video card on this model ? if so what model and brand can you recommend.
many thanks again!!!
Can I install ssd in Hp all in one pavilion 20
Can his be up to 16 g of ram ?
Which 23 model is yours?
3D printing a 2.5 to 3.5 inch adapter can be an option.
im not fond with pcs and tech and stuff like that but i have a hp pavillion and it has a intel celeron processor is it any way i can upgrade that to i5?
I would think so, but to be sure look up [model name] specs and look at HP's support page. There should be a section called processor upgrade information and there will be a chart of compatable CPUs. The page should look something like this except with your model: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03524666
Hi. I have an hp envy 20 all in one pc, It has a 500gb HHD and a 16gb msata disk catching SSD. I want to upgrade it. Do I need to search for a Msata ssd drive? I read somewhere that the 16gb can be removed and just to buy a 254 gb SSD like you did. Please help, what should I do?
Without having that specific setup, speculation would be the best I can offer, but I would think you could just replace the 16GB drive with a bigger one.
But, again, this is just speculation on my part.
I have the HP All-In-One that says the Display Adapter is in Intel HD Graphics 4400. Driver Date: 8/16/2018. (Model: IV897NH. 23-q113w) I seem to have enough HD space by sometimes browser windows crash, I think I need to upgrade the graphics card. I have 6 GB Ram. 731 GB free space. Can I upgrade the graphics card? Any suggestions or advice?
The graphics cards for these devices are integrated, and unfortunately, they can't be upgraded.
It support ssd 960 gb?
do u need to do the prep before?? aka the usb
I generally format the USBs to fat32 before running the Windows Install maker. I've never had a problem dong it that way.
It's probably got a cookie cutter motherboard from a vendor...Often times upgradeable to a MUCH better board. I do that to laptop's all the time.
Interesting. I'll keep that in mind!
What boards would work?
I upgrade my hp pro400g1

Whatever you do, do not use Windows 10... it runs sluggish af... just run Windows 7 and set up your programs properly for best performance that is snappy.
Velcro for the ssd. It will close the gap and hold the ssd in place.
I have a 23 inch all in one hp with windows 8. I’d like to upgrade the processor and upgrade from an hdd to an ssd.
Hey did it work?
is the cpu upgradable?
You can but check online which ones the motherboard is compatible. If you currently have an Intel then your new one also has to be intel for example. If you look up [computer model] specs you should be able to find it. There should be section called processor upgrade information with a chart of compatible CPUs. Here's an example for the b010 support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03524666
