11:00 I hate the fact that the deal between HP and B&O is heavily based on software. They do this on their laptops as well. The problem is, say you want to stream/record you game and you don't have other speakers or headphones plugged in(i.e. you have to use the speaker on the monitor/laptop). You will end up streaming the altered version of the sound that sounds right to you but might sound weird to the viewers. You need to turn off the B&O software so that your viewers can hear the REAL sound but then it will sound horrible on your end.
Indeed, the webcam sound was a wow moment for me. Otherwise it's a proper all round good machine mouse excluded. Still wouldn't buy it though, as its still an HP.
@@adonisbiju Never been a fan of HP personally...HP were/still are cheap... good but cheap with bespoke mobos making most desktops upgrade path very limited. Even this AIO. HP are not my cup of tea personally, and haven't been even in the Compaq days....although as said yes, I would probably recommend this to someone who doesn't know anything about computers, yet wants to own one (due to peer pressure for example) like my elderly parents.
Two things: 1.) You could (and IMO should) toss the apple cord just like that. 2.) If anyone is curious, the webcam peel is surprisingly similar to lasik, with the difference being that things get real blurry instead of clear for a short time.
I would love a full review of this. It truly is cool, and I also love (Despite loving Apple as well.) How much they just slap Apple around with the obvious good ideas. Also I LOVE seeing everyone come on set. Especially MacAddress! Excellent first episode of Pack-Address!
What more do you need to know? But wait for 12gen. It will be hugely more power efficient. Otherwise I think it is a practical little machine. The screen will out-life the other components probably in terms of performance so from a sustainability standpoint not the greatest. Just a word of caution, I own the 340c ultra-wide and had to turn the screen in for HP to replace the Bang olafsun speakers as one of the channels died after just a few months. They were good with some tweaking but if they break, your machine is kinda screwed.
This is a good AIO and some of the features it has is cool (like that auto-rotating camera, the I/O in the stand, and the wireless charger built into the base of the stand), but Anthony saying stuff like "Apple used to care" is just toxic misinformation. He can criticize the SSD being soldered in in Macs, but there's a solid reason why Apple used soldered in memory in M1 Macs. The reason is they're using much faster and much more power efficient LPDDR memory. The LPDDR5 memory Apple uses in the new MacBooks and the Mac Studio runs at 6400MT/s, as fast as overclocked and much more power hungry DDR5. They can do that only because the memory is soldered in (not to mention in the same SoC package), so they can control the signal flow and integrity much better.
@@utubekullanicisi Nah you are just arguing 2 extremes. The answer Anthony is referring to is something in the middle. Apple's choices do indeed have performance incentives. But make no mistake they are making those choices with an anti-consumer mindset.
That's actually really smart to have the webcam seperate, since then they don't need to worry about massive bezels and poor camera quality, and if you aren't using it, you can just take it off!
Potential thing for the lab: how glossy is the display in conditions that aren’t studio lighting. Something something reflectivity score relative to ambient/direct light?
This is very similar to the 2018 HP Envy 34” curved AIO which I’ve been using for 3 years. Same keyboard and screen/base design but with upgraded internals.
I was looking to see if this had a glossy screen or not - and it does! Thank you! Glossy screen = better contrast, better colors, better blacks, more vivid, etc. SOLD!
In my experience, I wouldn’t diss the wireless charger on the computer. Reason being ever since I bought my iPhone 13, I noticed my old wireless chargers do not work with the iPhone. I’m assuming the magnets on there are doing something to mess with the coils. Since you both tested with iPhones, that could be a reason why?
It's because Apple disabled support for low powered qi chargers. New iphones with magsafe magnets use the same exact technology as every other qi phone and dock. The magnets have nothing to do with the qi coil. They did the same with the apple watch.
I'm pretty sure the problem is that he didn't align it properly, and that charger is probably a single coil one. That's why Jonathan iphone started to charge while Anthony's didn't.
@@ViXoZuDo on my pixel charger whenever I put the 13 on it it lights up the screen but doesn’t actually charge. For some reason it shows like it does, however, if I do the same for my previous iPhone without MagSafe and the pixel, they both work like a charm. Which is why my conclusion is the MagSafe is the issue
Man, I love the fact that Jonathan keeps coming in and out to check product whenever someone is unboxing products. Would really love to seem him do some by himself to instead of only Apple things
*69 minutes later* Anthony: So YOU are telling ME that YOU THINK that this keyboard, which is not aluminum, unlike Apple's, looks BETTER than the Apple one which IS aluminum? Jono, smiling all the way through: Yes :D
Having IO in in the stand is amazing, why isn't that a thing more? Can we get a vesa mount monitor stand with a built in dock? I also love the SD card reader, they're pretty rare to be built into the device.
Ugh, that hatch made me similarly angry. I remember when they removed the 21" iMac RAM upgrade hatch, it was such a blatant attempt to up-sell people to the 27" and a sign of things to come. Also, the Qi charging stand would be the IDEAL SOLUTION TO APPLE'S STUPID MOUSE CHARGER.
I really like this approach of different staff coming to stare at a product and giving their impressions, especially Horst, who - as he said so himself - is mostly in this Apple world all day long which makes his input a nice contrast to the PC/Android folks on the team. Not that the awesomeness that is Anthony can be defined by being a fan of one platform or even seven. Something similar has already been done with a couple of monitors impressions as far as I remember. I understand that people aren't just walking around the office twiddling their thumbs and have actual work to do but LMG has so much staff now - specialized staff - that an approach like this really pays dividence I find.
In recent months, Anthony has soared to new heights of hosting. He’s always been really clear and has a great way of explaining very technical principles, but his persona and charisma has reached new levels of excellence. I always enjoy his videos. Well done my man!
Yeah, so much excellence in his Persona in fact, that he's saying stuff like "Apple used to care" to only spread toxic misinformation. He can criticize the SSD being soldered in in Macs, but there's a reason Apple uses soldered in memory in M1 Macs. The reason is they're using much faster and much more power efficient LPDDR memory. I'd say he's a good host however you need to back off a little bit, there's nothing special in this video. Actually, there's loads of annoying rants that it's just leading the pace of the video, and that's not great hosting. Is him even being that brilliant or changing our lives as he elaborate? No. Honestly you guys seem like you're all under his balls, it reeks as virtue signaling.

If I had to choose a super minimalistic computer for work/entertainment and light gaming, this setup actually looks very compelling. The price is high, but the package is very well put-together.
You had my attention with the ports in the stand, and now hearing "4K Ultrawide" has my undivided attention. I love my 1440p Ultrawide (3440x1440) but DAMN. Unfortunately, this thing matches my HP OMEN 25L for specs (though I have a desktop 3060), and mine can comfortably power my monitor... doubt it for that one.
The number of people remarking on how other companies are copying the built-in webcam on the Studio Display is hilarious. First, this is an all-in-one desktop, not a monitor. It’s common for AIOs to have webcams. Second, the Samsung S4 monitor has a webcam and was launched in September 2021, before the Studio Display. And *before that* in January, Dell launched a series of monitors with built-in cameras. Both companies were targeting the WFH audience that ballooned all of a sudden… for some reason. The last Apple monitor with a webcam before that (Thunderbolt Display) was launched in 2011 and discontinued in 2016. But sure, whatever you say.
This thing looks super impressive, the IO was super well designed, the webcam is really smart as well. From the thumbnail I didn't get why it wasn't build in, but it absolutely makes sense. I agree with Anthony, I wouldn't buy it for myself, but this is something I would recommend to someone who wants and AIO and has enough money to buy it.
OK I know this is a joke but from what I've seen, the people who need 32gigs or more already have access to servers with buckets of ram. What other single purpose work needs that much ram?
@@oldbot64 I don't have any server. I do play games, and I've actually stuck with 32GB of ram for two generations in a row. My next will probably be a step up though, as I won't be getting a new rig for a few years most likely. I don't really need 32GB, but I do play some games that get greedy, and including my other programs and the OS I've exceeded 18GB of ram at times. 24GB would probably be fine for me, but having some additional insurance is good. I do occasionally do video encoding too, though not enough for me to really need 32GB, I think (Handbrake, 4K/60 usually). Basically, better to have it and not need it, and need it and not have it. The cost difference between high speed 24GB and 32GB isn't that big, especially when you compare it to the cost of say, a flagship GPU.
Could you also review the newer model came with 12th gen. Alder Lake processor (12700 or 12900) and using ddr5 RAM? Wonder if that will have better thermal control or still be limited with CPU thermal throttling, thanks in advance!!
ANTHONY IS A GENIUS!! Can LTT start another channel call “Last Years Tech” where they review everyday tech that is a few generations older and more affordable for us normal people? Hosted by someone who is normal too. Cause I strongly feel that every tech reviewer I follower loses touch with the normal persons needs. Including LTT, unbox therapy, mkbhd, even the every day dad. I feel LTT is the only crew who can pull this off because any individual who starts a RUclips channel needs to ride the high of bleeding edge tech to gain attention and succeed but LTT has an audience already and funding to make such a channel.
3:15 I can't even exploit that kind of hardware if I tried. I'm watching this via 1st gen mobile i7 and 3 out of 4 Gigabytes of memory and I'm able to watch up to 1080p most of the time. Moving to either my next laptop which is only 2 years newer or my first build will garuntee-ably satisfy me with 1440p goodness, cause I don't care for 4K.
Fun and objective Anthony always has entertaining reviews, and for what actually seems like a pretty good product. If it had the option for a display input, I think I would actually be 90% behind this product. Also if it had a similar system to that one kind of Dell all-in-one where all the components were in a swappable part on the stand, then I think it would be actually phenomenal. I would love an AIO for work that could upgrade components in that way.
So in a dark room with a triple monitor set up, open Wikipedia or some website that’s predominantly white on both ~350nit side monitors and it actually gives pretty nice soft lighting for a zoom call. With this being a ring light and like 500 nits, I imagine in similar conditions it would actually be pretty effective - if it works with zoom/teams whatever and it also might be super annoying in that scenario as it takes up a lot of your screen. Cool idea though!
If I were setting up an office space with desktops this would be a great option! Love how clean it looks and the IO very is nice. The power is even enough for programming workflows.
Since this AIO has HDMI OUT only, could an external GPU be used thru its Thunderbolt 4 or Displayport 1.4? Is there a workaround for the missing HDMI IN?
Could there be some GSync magic going on here with the built in mobile GPU? Some laptops support it (but only on the primary display for most of them). I find it suspect that it's exactly 60fps. Also, that's actually fairly decent for a mobile GPU for that resolution. Sure it might not be "5k" but (double?) ultrawide is plenty more pixels to render and works decently in most recent games (older games mighty need a mod, or custom configuration, or at worst, windowed mode or black boxes). Definitely would like Windows 11 to not suck as much for this sort of thing, the snapping and desktop organization functionality would be quite useful on such a large display.
I absolutely love this machine so far, however one fault is that the wireless charging pad does not work. I've tried it with both the latest Apple and Android phones, yet it still isn't working. I've tried getting in touch with HP - no response. I've tried the method HP suggests on their website (enabling wireless on the BIOS Configuration screen), yet it's still not working. Do you have any suggestions as to what could be causing this other than faulty hardware? Thanks!

You're a natural talent for this!
The number of times "it looked cool" was used as a defense makes this worthwhile.
I love Jonathan cameos.
I wish they didn't ask him to leave whenever it happens because I find his interactions with other LMG members very entertaining. I think LMG already knows that members interacting with each other makes for better videos, I just wish Jonathan appeared in more of them.
Yeah we need someone to bully, its been a while since colton or dennis were the punching bags.
@@RisingRevengeance You shouldn't bully anyone. Except maybe Linus but he's the boss he can handle it.
This has to be one of Anthony’s best unboxings😂
It's legendary.
fr, he got so natural in front of the camera. He is at his peek right now imo.
I really like how this is packaged from a hardware perspective. The small things like the magnetized covers, the wire management, and the phone charger are kinda cool. I had a Surface Studio for productivity and it was completely sealed and impossible to open.
Love ya Anthony, I’m glad you let us get to know you more in the videos you host, you shine bright and we Can notice you’re becoming a great host and are more comfortable being in the center which is honestly an awesome character development arch lmao

What an absolute legend

11:00 I hate the fact that the deal between HP and B&O is heavily based on software. They do this on their laptops as well.
The problem is, say you want to stream/record you game and you don't have other speakers or headphones plugged in(i.e. you have to use the speaker on the monitor/laptop). You will end up streaming the altered version of the sound that sounds right to you but might sound weird to the viewers. You need to turn off the B&O software so that your viewers can hear the REAL sound but then it will sound horrible on your end.
Yeah I agree. And software eq adds latency as well. It's basically polishing a turd.
That webcam was actually rather awesome with being able to move it to all sides. Looked and sounded(mic) pretty decent too.
Indeed, the webcam sound was a wow moment for me.
Otherwise it's a proper all round good machine mouse excluded.
Still wouldn't buy it though, as its still an HP.
@@Tink-GB whats wrong with hp?
@@adonisbiju Never been a fan of HP personally...HP were/still are cheap... good but cheap with bespoke mobos making most desktops upgrade path very limited. Even this AIO.
HP are not my cup of tea personally, and haven't been even in the Compaq days....although as said yes, I would probably recommend this to someone who doesn't know anything about computers, yet wants to own one (due to peer pressure for example) like my elderly parents.
12:20 POV You are the peel peeled by Anthony
my fantasies fulfilled.
Two things:
1.) You could (and IMO should) toss the apple cord just like that.
@@TheBacktimer yep B&O speakers on HP sucks also in laptops...
Since you both tested with iPhones, that could be a reason why?
that'd be why, qi charging works off of magnetism.
It's because Apple disabled support for low powered qi chargers. New iphones with magsafe magnets use the same exact technology as every other qi phone and dock. The magnets have nothing to do with the qi coil. They did the same with the apple watch.
But qi works on EM tech right? Why does it have issues with other chargers that use the same tech? Or is there other compatibility issues?
I'm pretty sure the problem is that he didn't align it properly, and that charger is probably a single coil one. That's why Jonathan iphone started to charge while Anthony's didn't.
@@ViXoZuDo on my pixel charger whenever I put the 13 on it it lights up the screen but doesn’t actually charge. For some reason it shows like it does, however, if I do the same for my previous iPhone without MagSafe and the pixel, they both work like a charm. Which is why my conclusion is the MagSafe is the issue
-Did you order it?
-Yeah
-Why?

I really want to have a job with a freedom to answer questions like that😆
Anthony: would buy this for my grandparents
Me: this is miles better than my gaming pc
Yeah, it's a sleek, quiet and fairly powerful AIO workstation. Can't really fault it for its type, other than the lack of video in.
It is a whole universe better than my computer that blue screens every 5 min...
Same, my friend, same.
Any video with Anthony in it is just super fun to watch. His rants are always relatable.
12:17
decades with electronics, and this is something i've never seen. thank you :)
Man, I love the fact that Jonathan keeps coming in and out to check product whenever someone is unboxing products. Would really love to seem him do some by himself to instead of only Apple things
*69 minutes later*
Anthony: So YOU are telling ME that YOU THINK that this keyboard, which is not aluminum, unlike Apple's, looks BETTER than the Apple one which IS aluminum?
Jono, smiling all the way through: Yes :D
he spittin
4:22 I would like a uncut version of Anthony just talking about Apple for 1 hour. I would watch it like i would watch a Ted talk
This is an impressive All-in-one be good for a office set up or even schools maybe
7:23 best duo ever , i would love to see them in more future videos
Having IO in in the stand is amazing, why isn't that a thing more?
Can we get a vesa mount monitor stand with a built in dock? I also love the SD card reader, they're pretty rare to be built into the device.
I used the same PC 24/7 for over a decade....anthony over here joking about opening last years tech...we live in different worlds
5:44 JONO YOUR LAPTOP HOLDING IS GIVING ME ANXIETY
I really like how Jonathan just makes his way into half of the Short Circuits now lol
Horst is super annoying, imo. I'd rather he stay on the Apple side of things
This is a really well written video. Neat camera work and commentary from the peanut gallery(looking at you, Jono!)
3:28 the look when Alex realizes Anthony is joking is excellent

4:00 NGL i do miss imacs having the little door on the bottom to access the RAM
This is the best episode of ShortCircuit I have ever seen. Having Anthony host, lots of guests pop in, and taking it very lightheartedly.
He sucks
@@rogerklk Agreed. It's the new hive mind opinion so now every comment is smoking his schlong. He's average at best. He's knowledgeable, but he has zero charisma.
If I had to choose a super minimalistic computer for work/entertainment and light gaming, this setup actually looks very compelling. The price is high, but the package is very well put-together.
If a company was paying, I would seriously consider it
Solid opening second, 10/10
I am loving other hosts just casually entering the video and having some inputs. Adds more to the video.
Anthony: Why do you buy last year's tech?
Me: Wow, cool!
But sure, whatever you say.
and even before that, Lenovo had a series of monitors that had built in webcams.... not to mention the niche market of AIO pc out there
I really wish we could easily get a beautiful glossy finish like that on (relatively) cheap external 4K displays. I _hate_ matte displays.
This is shockingly a great composed computer. Great hardware (user wise) and it's got some really nice features. That webcams awesome.
I appreciate how objective Anthony is despite his initial thoughts. Good review and it's nice seeing Anthony back on screen again.
not really objective. the unique monitor, super-good (for IPS), glossy! I'd buy this because of it, and he just don't care.
Anthony is trying so hard to keep that monitor clean but every time someone looks at it grows five new streaks
Good job HP, this looks like a solid product!
but its OOOOOLLDDDD 32 gb minimum and 12th gen... 😤😤
I've ordered one of these for my parents. Showed them both some reviews of it and they were happy. Just waiting for HP to actually process the order
Could you also review the newer model came with 12th gen. Alder Lake processor (12700 or 12900) and using ddr5 RAM? Wonder if that will have better thermal control or still be limited with CPU thermal throttling, thanks in advance!!
This video was good Jono, keep up the good work.
Using the display as a digital ring light is actually really smart.
On snapchat if you take a picture with your front camera and flash on, the screen acts as a flash. Same concept and should be used more often
@@MrMW2nd Yes of course, same on iPhone, but I've never seen it applied to a full size display.
I feel LTT is the only crew who can pull this off because any individual who starts a RUclips channel needs to ride the high of bleeding edge tech to gain attention and succeed but LTT has an audience already and funding to make such a channel.
wait what this is actually good
the title was not clickbait, i am just as suprised as anthony
great video as always
I really don't mind Horst stopping by and brining some dynamic. Welcome him!!!
Well Jono will now get Anthony nightmares
Now sell this as a standalone display with GLOSSY finish and GOOD speakers and I am gonna throw money at it.
Like Apple? Man, that keyboard is much much much closer to a Surface keyboard. Other than that, thank you for the review
00:35 phew.. Heads were about to roll!
Fun and objective
Anthony always has entertaining reviews, and for what actually seems like a pretty good product. If it had the option for a display input, I think I would actually be 90% behind this product.
Also if it had a similar system to that one kind of Dell all-in-one where all the components were in a swappable part on the stand, then I think it would be actually phenomenal. I would love an AIO for work that could upgrade components in that way.
Thanks!
The Dell aio with the computer in the stand is good for upgrade, but it's too small to handle the cooling of a big desktop cpu + a quite strong gpu
F for Anthony
I don't want to see Anthony actually angry at someone lol
It would look clean on a reception desk and could tie into a servers networked security cameras.Who keeps the stock keyboard/mouse anyway?
So in a dark room with a triple monitor set up, open Wikipedia or some website that’s predominantly white on both ~350nit side monitors and it actually gives pretty nice soft lighting for a zoom call. With this being a ring light and like 500 nits, I imagine in similar conditions it would actually be pretty effective - if it works with zoom/teams whatever and it also might be super annoying in that scenario as it takes up a lot of your screen. Cool idea though!
F FOR ANTHONY
Watching Anthony the tech legend is never time wasted.
F for Anthony and Apple, hope they recover
Sike, Apple sucks
Stop being a closed minded fanboy yourself then!

Anthony is so negative about a lot of the product he touches, it makes it hard to watch content with him in it.
Thanks for the review! Very helpful. Could you use this as a monitor? Can I connect my laptop with an HDMI or Thunderbolt4 cable?
i have an asus v241ea aio , and it too is very silent , even in performance mode I can barely hear the fans spinning
What happened to the policy of no midroll ads linus mentioned? I’ve gotten them on LTT and here on both iPad and TV recently
@3:27 This dude kills me nearly every episode.. need more reviews... unboxings.. lol!
Like how this episode just spiralled out of control half way through. 10/10
Can you connect 2 or more of these together like you could an HP Z1 G1/2?
I absolutely love this machine so far, however one fault is that the wireless charging pad does not work. I've tried it with both the latest Apple and Android phones, yet it still isn't working. I've tried getting in touch with HP - no response. I've tried the method HP suggests on their website (enabling wireless on the BIOS Configuration screen), yet it's still not working. Do you have any suggestions as to what could be causing this other than faulty hardware? Thanks!
Wow webcam and mic is super cool again. Two videos in a row. And I also like charging and io
