Super helpful video, thanks! I will definitely be watching these again while I mix the drums on a demo later.
However from drummer to drummer… that fill we’ve heard 100 times kills me 😂 a better tom fill and a kick behind that cymbal crash on the 1 would help this tutorial sound soooooo much more. Much love!

Hi Colin, i noticed that when you are sending pre fader everything including the panned toms is mono, is this intentional? do you have an explanation for this? it would seem more logical if the compressed sound was panned the same way as the source.

Would you "pre mix" the logic drum sounds if you let someone else mix your song?

This is just great information. Thanks Colin. I can't wait to apply this to my Logic drum kits.

Best Logic drum tutorial out there!
    Questions if ya don’t mind.
1 I have superior drummer three.
I have heard it’s the best in the industry.
I haven’t really messed with it much yet.
I find it kind of hard to perfectly customize my drums with it.
But I know logic Drummer like the back of my hand.
How would you move forward to get the best possible sound?
    Thank you!!!!

Do you turn off saturation and comp within the drum program?

Thanks, Colin, for this eye-opening video. Super helpful. I am going to try parallel compress guitar and vocals as well.

This is great. I've always struggled with drums in my tracks, I have several plugins, but coming back to Logic drums seemed the most intuitive, and now you're helping me make them sound better.

Thank you for your work. This has helped me understand the usage of the attack , release, threshold and ratio swttings. I've recently have been using this parallel compression setup in Garageband ( without the bussing unfortunately) with very good results. This has expanded my drum sounds greatly. Thank you again.

This has been a great series of tutorials. I've never given all that much thought to drum sound processing before, but these walk-throughs in Logic have really helped me to understand what I've been missing!

I'm glad, Thomas! Getting your drum sound right is arguably the biggest part of getting your mix right

@@TheBandGuide You're right of course. I used to view my drum tracks in Logic almost as an afterthought (pick a tempo, apply So-Cal drums across the whole track, and then go), but eventually realised what a huge difference it can make to a track when the drums are in a dialogue with the music, rather than just being used as a backdrop. Your recent videos have been invaluable in helping to better understand the degree to which drum sounds can be modified and improved. Looking forward to episode 4!
