    oh my gosh youve ACTUALLY changed my life! Ive always hired drummers cause I can make the tracks and drum the ideas myself but dont wanna just shove samples on a triple kick in a 4/6 groove cause i don't have that kind of time 😭 but now i can just make these drummers sound sick and edit from there! Thank you!!

    Yes, I've started adding distortion to my garageband drums and it certainly adds color. Since I started using your tips to make Garageband Drummer sound real I've recieved lots of compliments on how my production skills are improving. Thanks. Your channel, The Band Guide, is the best channel for helping people new to production learn how to really use a DAW.

    So kind of you to take the time to do this! What a game changer this video was, I didn't notice the "producer" part, and how I can add fx/plugins to each drum! Also, I want to add, you can "convert to midi" any part in case someone had a specific vision of how a drum part should be in a certain section.

    Amazing video! Very detailed! Thanks for that! However, note that you can change the stereo perspective of overheads using Logic's gain plugin and change LR. Very easy.

    I can't tell you how much I appreciate people like yourself. This is so helpful and and to the point. It's in depth enough to get to a point of satisfaction in the drum sound quality from an actual drummer. Also, No requests for subscriptions or classes to take to pay for. I really dig content like this. Thanks, buddy.

    Hi Collin, thank you so much for this series of making the LP drums sound real. Your instructions are clear, and this has helped immensely with my LP Drummer and another 3rd party (EZY Drummer) drumming track. This is one of the best video series around logic - full stop.

    For certain songs I’ve added some grit to m drums. But you’ve brought them forward in the mix. They sound powerful. That’s what I need. This video has been very eye-opening. I cannot wait to try this in my current project. Thank you!

    Just wanna thank you for taking the time to do this guide. I used to edit and mix drums on BFD back when Sonar was still a thing. Getting used to Logic meant relearning a lot of tricks. Your guide anchored me back to the fundamentals in a very easy to understand way. Looking forward to checking out more of your content!

    Hello!
    Your channel has open up a whole new toolbox for me. I like the approach to get the sound more realistic cause i didnt really understood exactly what it was that makes the sound so dead before.
    And a lot comes from a dead drumsound. I use distortion on the snare sometimes but for me I think the overhead microphones adds that dirtyness and aliveness that I like.
    When I played acoustic drums i had a very high tuned snare in all ways. Over and under and even the ”carpet” was very hard. So i like attack not so much ”fuzz ”on the snare. And i played skin and rim as most seems to do now.
    But distortion is really a genius way to make the drums sound more realistic. Great info Boss!

    A good shortcut for me personally is go to producer kits, and solo Room A or Room B I use my Roland TD8 as midi trigger pads…It sounds sooo good as practice…not sure yet ref recording as I don’t think you can edit pads in Producer kits, please correct me if I am wrong though 👍🏻

    Some great tips and advice in this video. I had to replay it a few times with a project open in Logic, just to follow along, but it all made sense eventually - and just finding out about the producer kits was a real step forward for me. Previously, I'd been isolating all the drum elements by cutting and pasting things like kick and snare into separate tracks! Thanks Colin.

    I am experiencing 1 sec lag in one of my buses for vocal echo after falling this tutorial for my drums. I'm doing side chain compression using the kick, snare and toms as triggers for Bass and Guitar. I seem to have narrowed it to the side chain. The track definitelly sounds better with it, but I can't listen to it with vocal tracks anymore. Is the M1 chip inadequate or is this an issue for logic?

    Good tips Colin! Quick question - I was working on some guitar parts along with Logic drummer and things were sounding wonky and out of time on playback. I was thinking OMG is my rhythm that bad? But finally realized the drums were not perfectly in time. When I converted them to midi and quantized them, they suddenly sounded in time. So my question - is the default state of logic drums humanized already so that they are not already quantized?

    • @TheBandGuide
      @TheBandGuide  Год назад

      Hmmm. They should be nearly perfectly quantized as a drummer. I have noticed some people have accidentally adjusted the "swing" knob or selected one of the grooves that has swing to it. Is that possible?
