They actually are great! The instruments and amp sims are one thing but their stock compressors, EQs, modulations, and FX are used by me on a very regular basis.
Just bought the template. After playing guitar for 15+ years, and then giving it up the last 3 years, I think I'm ready to hop back on the horse. These videos are so sick and just the motivation I need.
BEHOLD THE THICK RIFF THURSDAAAAY!!! Maaaaan that's absolutely amazing how you can make crazy music with anything in your hands My Niiib, that just shows we don't need too much for chase our dreams of making music, you do a great job inspiring and showing the way, love you soo mcuh my man!
Dude, first of all this riff so sick! I feel like it has a very Underoath vibe, I would love to hear this with some Aaron Gillespie style 2 step/pop punk/tom heavy drums. Keep up the good work man, we’ve been watching you for a while now and videos like this one are what we keep coming back for!
I am a big stock logic truther, I have found quad tracking my rhythms with the sizzlers on the outside and the more focused tones on the inside sounds huge. nice work dude
I love it man. Really inspiring. How can followers support your work financially? Seeing how much I enjoy the Thick Riff Thursdays I'd love to contribute. Cheers!
Hey, man! I love your riffs and mixing/mastering. My computer is too old to download Logic. I'm wondering if you would be willing to make/share a mastering chain using Garageband plugins because I have struggled to master my metal music for years and always end up not liking it. Thanks for your awesome videos!
Definitely play around a bit with the options on the pedalboard and the mic placement on the cab once you decide on a head. And don’t be afraid to check out different amp/cab combos!
It would be cool to hear this mix with the string noise coming from the vocal mic used for the rhythm guitars and bass layered in! Maybe it’s just me.. 🤷♂️
Man, if only Logic had slightly more/better cymbals, because the drums themselves sound awesome. Shockingly massive sounding for just a stock plug in that everyone kind of writes off.
@@nickbroomhallmusicdefinitely not lol, but if you keep up with this slick shit every Thursday, It might go just happen. Full send my dude! Love your content and you having fun with it. Brings out the metalhead out of me from 10 years ago.
You should do the writing template with some other DAWs! If you have access to them, I mean, haha. Like maybe Reaper or Pro Tools? You could also do it with free plug-ins that you can find online instead of just the stock ones. Could be a good way to make a few extra bucks!
@@BlakeHarrisonChannel That's what I work with as well and I hope he does it for Reaper! The results @nickbroomhallmusic can get are so friggin amazing
I'd love to hear this be completed into a full song. Definitely a sick section so far
The best series on RUclips for musicians right now!!! Loving these and super entertaining and inspirational!! Keep crushing it bro!
Thanks so much man!
Love this one. Being a logic guy, it’s always nice to see some love for stock plugins.

that guitar tone is sick

That’s amazing!! So cool to hear these videos have motivated you. And thanks so much for the template purchase! 🙏
Thurdays is becoming my favorite day of the week bc of this!
same, and payday
That moment at 10:53. I love that feeling where you know you just layed down an awesome idea that ties everything together.
Catchiest thick riff so far and sounds amazing with the stock plug ins
There is also a frequency splitter in the pedalboard. Works well for the whole bass distortion thing. That rhythm tone is killer.
Oh nice! I’ll have to check that out

You write so many good riffs man. Inspiring to watch!
For the first time in my life, I now look forward to Thursdays.
SUPER Monuments-y. Great voicing for the lead too!
I wish you had a larger following, I've been watching your content a while now, and I am obsessed with Thick Riff Thursdays
that main riff is very john browne, and that chorus reminds me a lot of like 2012 djent
So far there hasn’t been a single thing you’ve written that I haven’t loved.
If you haven't already, I would be super interested in a video dissecting your master bus. Love your content man!

Nick Broomhall for Supreme International Overlord 2024 - Giving the people what they need, AND WHAT THEY WANT.
Goes to show, plugins only get you half way there. Mega talented to put that all together with stock logic plugins 😮
my favorite so far holy shit
So much fun to watch - you are just so good at this man! Love it!
You surely had a great view to get music inspiration 😃! Helps a lot!
Great playing man. As always.
Dope track. That chorus progression is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

John Browne must be smiling at that riff!!
cheers from Brazil, dude! u made it
Great stuff.
love thursdays!
I am learning so much from you. Thank you so much for starting this series!!
I look forward to thiccness every Thursday!
Really nice work dude.
Thanks for sharing!
Well done 🔥
Dude definitely keep doing more of these
the triplet lead part sounds like an old erra vibe its so nice
Funny thursdays 🍻 thnx
Really giving a bit of a Beloved vibe

Sounds like Saosin and I love it. Also gives me hope that I can find some sick tones in Logic
This gave me some Stray from the Path vibes! I dig it dude!
Please add more to this for the next thick riff Thursday
"Everyone's been asking for the writing template"
Hey its me, I'm everyone
😂
Something I always say. It's not the plugins, or the gear, It's the musician. You could probably make anything sound great😂
5:48 I was gonna say…has someone been listening to Monuments?! Good stuff!
reminds me of something off Novelists first album Souvenirs
Dang this is really really sick sounding!!! Needs a dope vocalist on it for sure
I love your room of OCD heaven
I’ve always struggled to get good guitar tones with the stock plugins, will definitely take some tips from this.
Definitely play around a bit with the options on the pedalboard and the mic placement on the cab once you decide on a head. And don’t be afraid to check out different amp/cab combos!
This is fkin sick. Super glad I stumbled upon your channel, Nick! Definitely subbed ☮🖤
Love your process man! Quick question - does your writing template include the master buss chain? Thanks man!
im subscribing man u got me there 🔥
2:17 whats the AMP model called
I like how u do drums in the keysni use a bunch of diff groove packs I'm about to get a midi keyboard
It would be cool to hear this mix with the string noise coming from the vocal mic used for the rhythm guitars and bass layered in! Maybe it’s just me.. 🤷♂️
Do you plan on doing this on other daws? I mean, id love to see you work on Cubase!
Dude all your guitars sounds insane. Do you plug your guitar direct to your Audio Interface and then Neural DSP (except for this video)?
Thanks! Yes typically I’m going straight from my guitar into an interface, sometimes with some pedals in between
Fooooooooooooooooda!!!!!!
Man, if only Logic had slightly more/better cymbals, because the drums themselves sound awesome. Shockingly massive sounding for just a stock plug in that everyone kind of writes off.
What drum kit did you use?
Does the Logic Template require a certain version of Logic to run?
what tuning used in this song?
6:29 somebody can give me what shortcut is that?
I have mine set to shift+L but search in your key commands for “force legato”
@@nickbroomhallmusic thx bro, shift+\ on my logic
I can barely see the guitar mix settings.
pc user here. could you do one with reaper and free vsts please? great videos everytime bro. much love!
What is your drop key?
Dude makes me want to drop $15000 and start recording this winter as a complete noob
Def don’t need to drop $15K to start recording! but I love the enthusiasm 😂

Guitar tones are actually pretty sweet. Those drums are a bit flat and lifeless though, I guess we've been spoiled by GGD being so good.

Yeah I could do one in Pro Tools for sure! Possibly Ableton too!
@@nickbroomhallmusic that's sick, dude! Looking forward to it (if you go through with it)!
I second this for reaper
@@BlakeHarrisonChannel That's what I work with as well and I hope he does it for Reaper! The results @nickbroomhallmusic can get are so friggin amazing
why didn't you just....layer both bass tones?
How is this better than my 10 years of work?
gold as always. Go bengals lol
Was the drums stock?
Yes!
Can't beat real bass if you know how to play. That computer bass sounds like computer bass. Don't be afraid to boost the bass signal after tracking.
Chorus sounds like Chronologist
🤔🤔🤔
@@nickbroomhallmusic listen to them a ton on Spotify lately and just searched on RUclips and…there you were! Wow hahaha I’m shook
Bro… full song.
