“A Reason for My Hope Within: The Cosmos" by Wesley Hardin, Copyright 2021.
So, you’re asking me to give you a reason for my hope within?
    Where do I begin?
Well, first things first, what begins to exist must have a cause…
Because nothing can come out of nothing, this is a natural law.
So, if this whole Universe began with a Big Bang explosion,
then there must be an Unmoved Mover that put it into motion.
And if this Thing really was the origin of all matter, space, and time,
then it had to be an immaterial, spaceless, timeless, all-powerful Mind!
Sounds like a supernatural God to me!
Just look at Earth, this privileged planet, this hydrated home,
strategically set right in the Goldilocks zone.
Here we are spinning and orbiting at precisely the right speeds,
rotating on an axis of exactly 23.5 degrees,
with a big beautiful moon to make tides for the seas,
and just enough oxygen so we can breathe with ease!
Man, I’m telling you I could give you way more examples than these!
In fact, there are 26 fundamental constants and over 200 conditions
that have to be perfectly spot on or life would be impossible by definition.
It’s like, imagine there are hundreds of dials that must be
extremely finely-tuned to such an incredibly high degree,
or there would not be so much as a single-celled bacteria anywhere,
    let alone you or me.
I mean, REALLY, what are the chances of nature alone just accidentally getting this done?
It’s less than a trillion, trillion, trillion to one!
It literally blows my mind to contemplate the statistics.
It’s as if a Super-Intellect has monkeyed with the physics!
    You know?
    Who would wager their soul?
Who would bet against those odds?
The heavens declare the glory of God!
This is the work of a Creator,
    and it’s clearly displayed,
being well understood by the things that are made.
Oh, please tell me you see it,
we are fearfully and wonderfully made!
Look, we may be a pale blue dot near one star in 400 billion,
in just one galaxy among a hundred thousand million.
But it’s not the size or location that gives value to a thing.
Heck, I don’t care about my great big house nearly as much as this little wedding ring!
Like a great Christmas feast that takes forever to cook,
just look at all the time and trouble the Maker took!
If you ask me, all those light years show,
the great lengths God is willing to go
to tell you He loves you more than you could ever know!
And so, as I gaze up in awesome wonder under the Milky Way,
I just can’t help it, I want to sing praise!
