Driveway Demons Absolutely Hilarious Review The 2018 Versa is the worst car ever but for 12,000 dollars who can complain anyone but a Homeless or Completely Broke Person Can buy one
Let's clear something up here, you don't buy a Nissan Versa for performance. This is not a driver's car, this is for the college student or the family needing a low-budget sedan. This is what cars were like 20-30 years ago and people were generally content. This car is a counter answer to the modern trends in automotive manufacturing. There's very few electronics, only basic controls, and the price is basic as well. If Ford took a truck and stripped all the fancy stuff out of it, it would be about 18k, but they won't do that because there's no money in it.
Exactly why i bought it. Is my First car, gas saver, no much tech but i don't drive much. 5k miles in a year because i work from home. I pay 170 a month for the loan and fill the tank with $18 every week and a half or 2. Minimum maintenance too.
that's exactly what this car was made to do. It does have good gas mileage and that's the best thing about it. The Special Edition version does have a 5 inch display with back up camera and satellite radio. It's not a touchscreen though.
@@youngbandz7823 Crucified? Wtf? You need to quit huffing glue and listening to death metal. You need at least 3 to 5 strong ass people to do a proper crucifixion and you have no friends anyway. . Lastly.... Mr. Becker need to be crucified for making a simple true statement? Very confused.
@@ccllvn it's a CHEAP car idiot. And you get the manual a good one. This car was never meant to have an automatic transmission that is its only real problem. You are probably to stupid to drive a manual. It means you have to use both hands and feet and that's just beyond your capacity... They sell this car around the world.... They make it in like 11 different factories. It does what it is supposed to do... Take you from point A to B. You aren't funny it's just a stupid comment.
@@ccllvn OH you are German..... How's that Islamic invasion thing working out for you? You are sooooo smart you people. At least in the past you people had some balls... Look at you now. Laurateen is the only decent German.
that car will run twice as long as any dodge or Chrysler product if you weren't aware Chrysler has the worst reliability out of any automotive manufacturer and has for the past 20 years
Chrysler isn't great but the cvt auto in these cars is only good for about 100k or so The manual transmission is fine if you know how to drive them though
@@dave_riotsSo the problem is Fiat made better cars before they bought Chrysler, killed Lancia like so and think they can contiune like so.. The new Dodge Neon is basically a Fiat Tipo. The only difference is: the Tipo is acutally doing pretty good and it's kinda reliable. Fiats engines are ok, they are pretty cheap but it's not looking like it is. I also remember when Chysler had the great idea to sell some of these stupid unreliable, vans. You know them as Dodge Town and Country we knew then as Lancia Voyager. Way to big for our european streets, to slow, no manual, to heavy, doesn't get good gas mileage. But you seem to like those things with so much electric stuff that goes down after 20.000km..
More tech = more problems. I have a versa, and am grateful for the low tech hand crank windows. Ive had to replace a few electric window motors, and it aint fun. For the money you spend on the versa , you wil get many years of worry free and gas saving mileage.
Exactly why I like it. I'll take my chances on the hit and miss cvt over all that fancy smancy power crap failing and leaving you with a window that won't go up or down. My buddy just had a window fail in his Chrysler mini van and he had to drive 30 miles in 20 degree weather with a down window. Then he had to tear the whole door apart just to prop it up with a 2x4.
I've had my 2017 since new. It's still doing great at 140,000 miles. No major issues...though the clutch is going according to the dealership...must be going very slowly. (manual transmission)
If you buy the manual it's a great car. The Automatics/CVTs have lots of problems.... I have a manual I bought new in 17 for 10k and I love it. If you read about any problems with this car it's always the automatic/CVT... Always.
@@quanbrooklynkid7776 Have you seen his videos? I've seen some bad rappers... But this dude is like Austisic and trying to spit rhymes. There are actually kinda funny. All his views are from me showing my friends his horrible to the tenth power (but so bad they are funny) videos.. this dude can't even legally drive and then he tries to troll people just bc they like their cheap little Versas (like I like mine) but he's a special needs troll.
He's reviewing this car with a "caviar" taste. It's an economy car and a great one at that. It gets you where you need to go and not break your wallet.
Lol, dude complaining about that stock radio. It has front USB, bluetooth, Aux Input, CD player, MP3, bluetooth A2DP and handsfree, steering controls and dedicated answer and hangup controls on the head unit and steering wheel. I don't know what else you expect, that is a very complete product and the Compact Disc player is very welcomed.
konatadesuka I’m an audio engineer. I owned a recording studio for years. The 4 & 6 ohm Chinese made speakers suck. The head unit pushes very little power and the music distorts due to the single paper cone woofers. There is a lot of pollution in the audio due to cheap electronics. So all the features you mentioned doesn’t mean a damn thing if the audio quality is horrible. I bet they push no more than 5 Watts RMS @ 4 ohm. That’s just plain horrible since most cars are around 10-14 Watts RMS.
That stock radio has a 4 channel 25W RMS power amplifier. The terrible quality has more to do with the poor acoustic design than the head unit. And again, what are you comparing to? Studio quality sound? On a car at that price point? Well, no. Not gonna happen. And that particular head unit is an option that can be upgraded to a touch-display with satnav and AroundView 360° cameras but again, not on the cheapest trim of the car. For that price-point, it's very adequate.
konatadesuka negative. Don’t care what they claim. There’s no way those speakers are 25watt rms per channel. If they claim 25 watts peak then they are maybe 5-7 watts RMS which is what I stated prior. My $600 pioneer double dinn is top notch and only 20 Watts rms. Peak power doesn’t matter. I don’t care about the upgrades only what was in this car. The Toyota Corolla and Ford Fiesta are both far superior cars on this price range and have much better audio quality as well as comfort.
konatadesuka lol you need to read what I wrote I’m not going to argue Symantics with you all day. The head unit is weak and the RMS is low. They might claim high power but doesn’t mean it’s delivering. Chinese electronics. I have been building cars and engineering audio and car stereos for 20+ years. The units in the car are junk. Judging For the sole purpose of listening to music and nothing else they suck.
ryan yorkovitch I have a 2009 Versa. Had it more than 3 years. No issues really. So you should definitely be good for like 5 years. Just check the fluids, and do oil changes.
That's awesome. I drove a bunch of falling-apart crapboxes for my first few cars. Never knew if they'd start up on any given day. The Versa is a solid car and should give you a great start to life, should last well into your 20s and maybe more.
Ryan Yorkovitch This dude Is A Asshole Nothing Under The Hood He Said That He Had To Repair He Just A Fuck😡 Complaining About Material Things Enjoy Your Car Baby Don’t Listen To This Fool
I just sold a 2012 versa hatch with 240k miles . Just make sure you stay away from that shitty CVT . automatic 1.8 is the way to go . I now have a 2008 versa hatch with 155k
I have a 2018 versa s 5 speed manual, and it's perfectly fine. has alot of back seat space, great truck space, and the manual responds really well. It does need a bit more power but over all it's a really great car. I would get the manual if you can drive one, it's much better than the cvt
I love my little ‘11 Versa Hatchback. It’s not a manual but an automatic. It’s been an awesome car! It’s gotten me from Phoenix to Cincinnati and back several times. I’ve really racked up the miles but have also kept up the maintenance so it runs like new. :)
Good car fuel efficient, but they have a lot of cvt transmission issues, our car barely has 43,000 mileage and its having transmission issues. But this guy is exaggerating the car is actually very spacious, even the glove compartment, and trunk is spacious hes being very exaggerating
I recommend manual transmission, it's funnier than automatic and you can push your fuel economy up to 40+ MPG wich is awesome for saving some money. Awesome city car for what you pay it absolutely worth it.
She's right... The CVTs on this car are crap. But f you get a manual it's a great car. This is the most popular car in Mexico, they love em...of course they don't waste money on Automatics down there.
@@dave_riots If this dude was half as smart or funny as he though he was he'd have more subscribers than Ozzyman... He ain't. He's a little rich boy brat.
I worked at a rent a car company the big 3 (Alamo/Enterprise/National). And i move 2 cars per day, to different branches over a 25 mile trip. This car had the best mpg in the fleet. My record is 57 mpg with this car.
@@gamersclasicos1414 It's the CVT that's the issue. Mine went out at 62K and thankfully I had the extended warranty, $3700 for a remanufactured one without it. LOTS of other people had that experience if you research "Nissan Versa transmission problems" and Nissan did nothing to alleviate it, so they were stuck
I rented one of these a few years back. It was shockingly adequate! Seriously, I was surprised how... okay it was. Up through the 80s, 90s, into the 2000s... driving the cheapest cars on the market was just a horrible experience. It felt like punishment. You got something like a 1980s Ford Escort or even like an early 2000s Kia Rio and everything was flimsy, you didn't get antilock brakes, the stereo sounded like a clock radio, the cars didn't feel stable over 60mph, and they were so underpowered that you dreaded highway driving. Even the turn signal stalks felt like they'd snap off at some point. None of those things is true about the current Versa sedan. It's perfectly adequate transportation. Drove it to and from work every day for about a week on a rather hellish hourlong commute. I seriously had zero complaints. Comfort was fine, and I'm 6'1" 250lbs. Had plenty of headroom. I don't know how this reviewer dude felt cramped. Absolutely nothing on this car was what you'd call nice, but... nothing (aside from how dorky it looked) was really bad either. Even the radio was fine. I am really shocked and impressed that Nissan can sell these for 12 grand new or whatever they cost.
I have owned a 2018.5 Nissan Versa SV, for a few months now, and I am very pleased with it! Very roomy, smooth, quiet comfortable ride, very well appointed interior and trunk space. Interior cabin is very roomy and comfortable, especially the seats. I have been averaging over 40 MPG combined City and Highway! What more could you ask for?
A car payment of 100 bucks a month on a 12000 dollar car would take 6000 down plus tax and plates assuming you got 0% interest for 60 months. C'mon man, I realize it's not the greatest but let's be serious about the math.
I have a 2017 Nissan Versa and I absolutely love it. It’s my first car and I’ll drive it until the wheels fall off! It’s the perfect car for a new driver, or college student. It’s genuinely a good car.
I have driven my 2015 Versa from Texas to NYC and back three years in a row now. I love the way it handled the road with four people and a trunk full of stuff. It was comfortable to drive, but the best thing was the money I saved on gasoline. Stop complaining so much about the Versa.
I bought my 2014 Nissan Versa SV brand new and now has 145000 miles, NO ISSUES at all. Maintenance has always been done and have spent about $3000 in maintenance in 6 years (bought in 2013 as a 2014). People maintain your vehicles! I have changed the transmission oil 3 times already and no issues at all. This little car literally drove me to a mechanical engineering degree! Drove 3 days a weeks for 2.5 he's one way, then drove back same day for 3 years to school.
Great car for the money and gas mileage. I actually like the old school manual components. I bought the S model for a commuter that's cheap and dependable. It does the job well. Also more interior space than any of the other subcompacts I looked at. Gets me where I need to go economically.
Some of y’all just WANT to waste money on gas. I drive my Nissan Versa 6 hours from desert to valley for $30 bucks.... and fits my family perfectly and comfortably. If you want all the finer things in life then fine get something else but it does its job well and I’m not broke cuz of it.
I had a 2016 Nissan Versa SV . It was actually a great car . I was getting 41 miles a gallon . The car is so spacious. He's very dramatic! I have to say that It was very light on the hwy. But overall the car is great . I traded it at 37,000 miles for an 2018 Toyota Corolla LE .
I have a 2018 nissan versa sv and it's the best car I ever had ! I absolutely love it, this guy is just a hater, my bro is 6'5" and fits just fine in it. And the glove box is very deep! Pretty much everything this hater said is false
I like the way this car looks, I like the fact that it's affordable, but all the negative reviews are really preventing me from buying one. Based on those reviews, the biggest issue with the Versa, and Nissan cars in general, is the transmission. It's a CVT, which is a sealed unit that can't be repaired when it fails. You have to buy a new one, meaning that what you save in the short term, is paid in the long term, because in the long term, everything fails.
I bought a 2018 Nissan Versa 5sp mt brand new at 20 years old with absolutely no credit and no co sign. Low maintenance cost great gas mileage and I can replace all 4 tires for less than $130. Also I’m 6’4 and fit in this car just fine. I’m beyond happy with how my versa has treated me.
I’ve never had any problems you’re listing. The interior is one of the biggest for a sub compact sedan. The suspension is comfortable and I live in Michigan so that’s all I’m gonna say. Steering is a bit light at highway speeds but after driving it an hour or two you get used to it, it was never “unsafe” feeling as you said though. The only thing I disliked was the CVT transmission. The HR16DE is a very solid engine with very minimal issues compared to many modern vehicles. If you can find one in manual I’d recommend you keep one in the back of your garage. I’m calling it now these cars will be loved one day!
I came in heated, pressed play, saw it was an automatic, immediately stopped caring... I have a 2017 S manual and its the bare bones daily that gives me no problems, manual seats and windows, cloth seats, no annoying alarm, full spare, and cheap on gas.
I have a 2009 Nissan Versa and I beat the piss out of it and rally with it. All the parts are cheap and it’s easily modable, perfect car in my opinion.
I have rarely (never) listened to a more dishonest review. Start with the seats--they are extremely comfortable. The car is plenty big--plenty of room--it has a bigger trunk than most of the subcompact. the handling is great etc. etc. the review is absurd and totally dishonest.
I owned this car for nearly 190K miles and while the review is totally subjective and not entirely truthful, there are better alternatives on the market. I'd buy a used car that is more substantial than a new one of these again.
@@kcmaldonado3948 good to admit ur review was "not entirely truthful". would be better if u did an edit and delete the untruthful portions. the Versa is designed for soft instead of hard handling. ur correct that it is less "substantial" than most used cars that are larger and more expensive new. The Versa is designed for easy driving, high gas mileage, cheap operating cost. Needless to say, if you want $100/month more in car payments u will find a better car. The new vs. used car debate for same price is interesting! Likely depends again on cost--e.g. gas mileage. While gas is $2/gallon, used car might make better sense. When gas hits $3.50/gallon, which it will, Versa makes a lot of sense.
@@ratherrapid I was not referring to 'my review,' I was referring to the review in this video. I bought one of the first of this redesign and in 190K miles, the CVT went out ($3700 if you don't have the extended warranty), and I'd check out the early IIHS offset crash results for Versa. You mostly would likely not survive a crash, so saving money on gas won't really matter.
I have the 1.2L manual version. In my country it's called the Almera. It has parking sensors, Caska multimedia, rear camera, automatic windows and all the basic stuffs and no useless fancy tech. It's very economic and reliable. The manual version is quite fast for 79HP. No need to rev above 2500rpm for good acceleration, and easily gets way above 60mi/h.
For sure, if take the base versa over one of those any day of the week. Not to mention that in the mirage your back seat passengers will receive major head trauma should anything larger than a Kia soul rear end it.
What do you base that on ? I have 4 Mirages for a transportation company, 2015 through 2018. Hands down have been better than any Toyota, Nissan or Honda i had before.
This car is actually really good for the money. Compared to it's closest competition, the Mitsubishi Mirage which starts at around 1-2k more, the Nissan Versa is the better choice, especially with the manual transmission. It has a lot of things you'd expect from a modern car of it's class, without charging you a little extra for things you can't have. This car is faster than the Mirage, it's more spacious, it's more reliable, it has more features for it's price, road noise isn't noticeable, ride quality is better, build quality is better, and unlike the Mirage; it can go up a hill without stalling, making weird noises, and rattling like crazy. I owned both the Mirage and the Versa, and I can say that the Nissan Versa is a winner.
I noticed it gets squirrelly at 80mph. I used to do 90mph in my Cobalt without even noticing. It’s probably good I have the Versa now that I have a kid. It keeps my driving at a safe speed
I got a sv Note and it is pretty good. Adults can sit in the back seats with the front seats all the way back and not be cramped. The seats are comfortable and it rides nicely. The cvt does kind of suck though. It is still about the best transportation for the price, however.
I own a 2016 versa, used. I got it because of exactly as you mentioned in this video: nothing but decent gas mileage. I think that's the audience Nissan was going for with this line of vehicles. While all these downsides should go without saying, you're deeefinitely coming at it from a very unrealistic angle. Very accurate nonetheless!
Sorry to tell you, you were trying so hard, this review is a complete BS 🤭 First of all you are talking about entry level car, so don’t expect to see luxury setting 🤔 Nissan Versa is a low parts count, low maintenance reliable vehicle 🚗 We have 2007 hatchback, 1.8L engine with over 100K MLS no big issues (third set of brakes, second set of tires, one ball joint replaced) and 2012 sedan for my son who is taller than you and feels comfortable driving it, with 1.6L engine his car hauling 4 people and some cargo like it should and going up hills with no big effort. I upgraded both cars with sound systems and reverse cameras. Driving long distance No problems, steering is tight, rides soft, very roomy for the size! You cannot compare Versa to more expensive cars and there is no such a thing as “cheap plastic” plastic is plastic and not any composite material or leather 😜 BTW, Your enthusiasm is impressive 🥳
@@DrivewayDemons I own one. I have had it two years and have put 38000 miles on mine with out a single problem. One of the best cars I have ever owned and I am 57 so I too have drove a few different vehicles myself. Again, it's a good little car.
This thing is perfect for a hockey player just going across America to play. It's not a high performance car. I own one and it's the best car I've had it does everything I need.
Even modern Ferraris and Lambos possess cheap garbage plastic parts which easily break. Those are the biggest scams in world history. Classic cars between the '50s & '60s are the only cars that are made with the world's finest quality which will last forever. Or you can get a '70s car and reverse-engineer some of the plastic parts and get them machined out of genuine metal to make them the best cars in history.
I have a strong dislike for the 2nd gen Versa, but it's not even on the top 50 of worst cars ever made. I have owned multiple cars worse than this before I turned 25 years old.
Inherited my fathers 2011 1 Versa in 2016 (1.8sl automatic). I already had a '13 Camry that I had purchased new for around 24K. Figured it would be nice to have a extra car around. Even thou the Camry cost twice as much and is a better looking car (I got Attitude Black), the seats in the Camry are uncomfortable, it's loaded with cheap plastic (two pieces of plastic actually fell off of the seats in the car), and I had to take it back to the dealer at 30k miles to have work done on the breaks (which was still under warranty). On top of that the paint on the car was so cheap my front bumper got damaged from rock chips on the road. NONE of these issues occurred with my father's old Versa. The seats are comfortable, it's had no major issues and it's now hitting 95K miles (and the seats are WAYYY more comfortable than the new Camry that I bought). Now my wife (who talks crap about the Versa all the time similar to yourself), wants to drive the Versa all the time not the Camry????. So don't take some of the comments as being negative and "hateful". It's just that people are passionate about their Versa's!!!
Lots of comments. I own a ‘17 Versa 5M. Peppy with the 5-speed. Altima-sized trunk and glove box is fine. Back seat room almost equals Altima as well. Sure, lots of plastique, it’s a $12k car. I love mine!
Got my 2015 for $14k with taxes and fees. Don't regret it for a second. Make sure you get the 4 speed automatic, as the CVT has been known to have issues.
I have a almost 10 year old Versa...... I have had it 3+ years. No issues. It’s not comfortable but other than that it’s fine. Don’t really worry about it getting dirty or scratched lol.
I was in my 2008 Lexus IS 250 and one these was in my way on the freeway. Had to zoom around him. Did so effortlessly but damn these cars seem so weak. They also seem tall, like if you turn too hard you’ll flip the thing over. I own a 2018 Toyota Corolla also... for the purpose of driving for Uber. I wouldn’t take passengers in this thing!
I have a Nissan Almera(Versa), bought it for work. Yes it’s not the fastest car, yes, it does not have all the fancy features, but for what I NEED it for, it does the job. Lots of space, low maintenance, takes me from A to B, and I can also use it on long trips when going on holiday. I also own a BMW X1 and that car fits what I NEED/WANT it for.
I bought a Nissan Certified 2018.5 Versa SV in May 2019 and have owned it for 3 months now. I have been averaging over 40 MPG per tank of gas, and the ride is very smooth, and the seats are very comfortable! I highly recommend this Versa if you are looking for an affordable, comfortable, quiet, smooth riding car. The Versa SV is a lot of car for the money!!
I agree about the SV, not nearly as cute as the SV Special Edition. SV Special Edition has an upgraded interior. But I disagree about the trunk storage, it's bigger than my old Kia Spectra, oddly enough. For a small car, it's very well designed for seating and trunk. My boyfriend is bigger than you, and he was surprised how comfortable he is in it. It's not a speed racer, but great for what I need it for - driving in a city, with streets designed for horse carts. Versa gets the last laugh, because it's easy to parallel park anywhere and easy to get around on the narrow streets. My Kia was more fun to drive, but the Versa is more fun to deal with the awful gas prices, and city driving is a breeze.
Yes the car is made from cheap material but come on do you really need a touch screen in the middle or a back up camera. Does nobody know how to use a mirror anymore.
Maybe if you ate some food and gained a little weight, your butt wouldn't hurt. I too, have a Versa and find it to be a wonderful entry level, budget vehicle. Don't quit your day job ... if this is it, find a new one.
The thing is u have to review the car based on what is was made to do, its not a sports car its an affordadble economy car made to get u from point a to b on a budget I have personally drove one its not some luxery sedan but it does what it was made to do. What can you really expect for how much it cost. You get what you pay for, I feel it comes equiped with the essientials and what more do you "really" need.
I thought you were going to tell us something, if you compare this car with a nice large truck, then this is unfair advantage, I'm a 6.2 238,lb man and I think is the BEST, and simply to maintain, I would buy another.
My Versa has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine tuned to deliver 600 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a Sadev 6-Speed sequential gearbox and all-wheel drive system, it could sprint from 0-62 mph in less than two seconds.
Somewhat of an unpopular opinion, but in my defense I got to rent one in Florida. The car struggled to go up hills and revved a lot to get moving. There weren’t any check engine lights or anything, it’s just that the cvt transmission is garbage.
I own a 2011 manual 6 speed transmision with 235k miles runs like a champ I’ve put 20k miles in less than 4 months and I have been happy with the car is fun and zippy
I’m ‘6.4” 280 and drive this same exact car 10 hours a day and love it. Only thing I wish I had done different was wait for a stick shift model to come in. I drove this car 1 1/2 hours round trip to my job in the petroleum industry thru mud, snow, ice and flooded water now I drive it 10 hours a day as a Uber driver since I got laid off in 2020 due to COVID and oil tanking to negative $40 a barrel. I’ve got 140,000 miles on her now in her defense she’s garage kept 80,000 miles we’re highway and I drive it like a 95 year old woman. I’ve replaced 1 wheel bearing, ac fan and the alternator in 4 years other than that runs like a champ. Sure it’s slow and isn’t the smoothest ride but it gets the job done plus the back seats huge. I’ve had a ‘6.9” guy in the back and a ‘6.8” guy in the front with the seat leaned back. Overall not bad
In fairness, who would actually need a back-up camera in a car that small? If a person can't turn and look over their shoulder to see if something is back there, maybe wait until the neck brace comes off before driving a Versa. Also, still not as bad as a Mitsubishi Mirage. And if you hunt around just a tiny bit, the Mirage can be found awfully close to just $10K.
My first car 2016 Versa sv I got in college. However the suspension is very sensitive. Also the usb is not for charging phone but for playing music if u have an iPhone 🥲😅
Its simple. Get a manual 4 cylinder without any bells and whistles and you avoid 90 percent of problems that people have with cars nowadays. Not because those things are better made, but because they just arent there!
Not accurate at all! I'm 6 3 had to move the seat forward and the rear room is amazing for a small car. I'm not into this type of car but am buying one for my son's first car. Good car for a fair price.
Just rented a Versa from Enterprise. Drove it from Salt Lake City to Boise and back. 740 miles round trip.. Got 40 mpg running 70/75 mph. At 80 mph the handling gets a little floaty. Handles well at 75 mph. Had no problems climbing over mountain passes at 70 mph. My only complaints would be that the seats are a little uncomfortable, but I was able to drive 3 hours at a time before needing to stretch my legs. Arm rest positions were apparently not thought out at all. Cup holders are in positions that cause a bit of distractive driving to use. Too far forward, causing one stretch and lean down a bit too much to access. Front door pockets had bottle holders in them which were easily accessible. Headlights worked very well at night on low and high beam. Not sure about the cvt transmission as far as reliability. Have heard of reliability issues. Would rent another Versa for the same route again. Maybe the next generation will have more comfortable front seats.
Listen to me you dumb craps... I bought this car in 2013 (2014 model year with 10 miles on it), put about 85K miles in 3 years of commuting to college. Happy to say it never broke down on me on the freeway and guess what? Got me through engineering school? Besides me having the brains to complete a Mechanical Engineering degree, I'd like to think that this Versa also helped me in completing my college degree because it never broke down on me. It now has 156K miles, I still own it and has yet to break down on me and still has a quiet engine at iddle. Now I drive a $77K truck because this little Versa never broke down on me and because I treated it good (good maintenance).
This car is great as a knock around car that you can drive for Uber, Doordash, Grubhub, etc. If it gets wrecked you won’t miss it and because it is so cheap, it is easily replaceable.
And you need to compare apples to apples. You don't take a Shetland pony to a horse race with quarter horses then dog the pony for having short legs. Or put a high strung quarter horse in a petting zoo and blame the kids for getting kicked.
I have a 2019 5sp. Nippon racing mag1 wheels. Bcracing Br coilovers. Nismo exhaust. Slotted and drilled rotors. I autox and trackday this car it's fun.
I like the review it was funny, me and my wife love Nissans. We own the 2016 versa and a 2017 Altima SR, the versa can't compare to some cars in it's class as far as options but it's not that bad. Great on gas but the sound system does suck. I had to change all that shit with after market speakers and a 12 inch sub. Now I don't mind driving it lol.
When I am sitting straight up driving down the road there is maybe 3-4 inches max. Maybe less. Im not hating for no reason I spent 4 days and 2000 miles in that car.
Even tho I complimented this car mid way through the review, watch the flame and hate comments roll in. While everything I said is true, most of the things I say I am just kidding. Folks this is a comedy review, just based on some facts.

Driveway Demons Absolutely Hilarious Review The 2018 Versa is the worst car ever but for 12,000 dollars who can complain anyone but a Homeless or Completely Broke Person Can buy one
Review a manual one please
yea the manual is alot more responsive, if it just had another like 25 30 hp it would be a perfect little car.
You are the Nissan Versa of the comedy industry.
Pretty much like a modern K-car..
Exactly why i bought it. Is my First car, gas saver, no much tech but i don't drive much. 5k miles in a year because i work from home. I pay 170 a month for the loan and fill the tank with $18 every week and a half or 2. Minimum maintenance too.
I have gone 115 mph in this car just letting you know. 😂😂😂
I track day and auto cross in mine.
🎯
it's a car takes you where you need to go.
that's exactly what this car was made to do. It does have good gas mileage and that's the best thing about it. The Special Edition version does have a 5 inch display with back up camera and satellite radio. It's not a touchscreen though.

@@dave_riotsSo the problem is Fiat made better cars before they bought Chrysler, killed Lancia like so and think they can contiune like so..
The new Dodge Neon is basically a Fiat Tipo. The only difference is:
the Tipo is acutally doing pretty good and it's kinda reliable.
I agree with you. And for that I will buy a new Versa. More tech are more problems
Until the crappy CVT transmission dies.
God do I agree, I love that mine is stock and has manual windows and all that. Nothing there to break that I cant fix myself
I've had my 2017 since new. It's still doing great at 140,000 miles. No major issues...though the clutch is going according to the dealership...must be going very slowly. (manual transmission)
My local Nissan has these for $12k new, I don't think its that bad for the price.
If you buy the manual it's a great car. The Automatics/CVTs have lots of problems.... I have a manual I bought new in 17 for 10k and I love it. If you read about any problems with this car it's always the automatic/CVT... Always.

Oh, so you don't care about technical specifications and you're basing your opinion on feelings.
konatadesuka lol you need to read what I wrote I’m not going to argue Symantics with you all day.
My parents got me a 2017 versa for my first car last month and I thinks its held up so far.
ryan yorkovitch I have a 2009 Versa. Had it more than 3 years. No issues really. So you should definitely be good for like 5 years. Just check the fluids, and do oil changes.

But this guy is exaggerating the car is actually very spacious, even the glove compartment, and trunk is spacious hes being very exaggerating
Alma Ruiz do you reccomend the manual transmission over the CVT?
I had my transmission replaced under warranty, take it to the dealer, they fixed mine no problem.

I am really shocked and impressed that Nissan can sell these for 12 grand new or whatever they cost.
lol if you hate the car, why bother wasting your time with it...
C'mon man, I realize it's not the greatest but let's be serious about the math.
i have one and the payment is 188 a month after 1000 down oh and it was $8300 before dealer fees
And hope the CVT doesn't fail, that's an extra 4 grand.

I have a 2009 Versa and it's still running but it's a 5-speed
How many miles on the odometer?
I’m calling it now these cars will be loved one day!
that s not how that car was built, its made to transfort you from a to b, its a simple car, it kind of a old school, no t=electronic much
I came in heated, pressed play, saw it was an automatic, immediately stopped caring... I have a 2017 S manual and its the bare bones daily that gives me no problems, manual seats and windows, cloth seats, no annoying alarm, full spare, and cheap on gas.

I have rarely (never) listened to a more dishonest review. Start with the seats--they are extremely comfortable. The car is plenty big--plenty of room--it has a bigger trunk than most of the subcompact.
the handling is great etc. etc. the review is absurd and totally dishonest.
frank brown lol ok

What do you base that on ? I have 4 Mirages for a transportation company, 2015 through 2018. Hands down have been better than any Toyota, Nissan or Honda i had before.
Chuck M Mirages are just low hanging fruit for taking potshots, but yea they're damn great little things.
Anything Chrysler is worse.
Mirage is the worst car currently for sale in the US. It is not the worst car ever.
I’m 6’2 and fit in it perfectly
no my friend versa is very good car for 12000 dollars sir
Even modern Ferraris and Lambos possess cheap garbage plastic parts which easily break. Those are the biggest scams in world history. Or you can get a '70s car and reverse-engineer some of the plastic parts and get them machined out of genuine metal to make them the best cars in history.
I own a 2017 Versa SV and it's great on gas. I just hope it doesn't have transmission problems like some comments mention.
that's the only thing I'm worried about
I have a strong dislike for the 2nd gen Versa, but it's not even on the top 50 of worst cars ever made.
It is faster than most sports cars. I have gone 160 mph on a dry lake bed. It is so fricken light the engine barely has to push it.
Dude what do you expect from a new $12000 car?

The cvt automatics are absolute trash
But you can have a little bit of fun with a manual transmission model
The gas mileage is fantastic. The price totally made up for everything on my 16 Versa 😆
DON'T EVER WEAR SHORTS AGAIN!!!!! 🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔
At least you get cruise control. I’m buying an 07 and I’ll have to suffer
Great car!!
Mine runs like a champ.
I'm so glad they make manual versions of these
theyre the best
I love mine. good cruiser.
I got a 2017 manual versa and I love it... done with car payments and im happy
Free Palestine!
This review is terrible
I rented one of these. I agree it wasn't comfortable at all. But it was super easy to park !
Indeed it was lol
I beg to differ, it is a cheap car but it's very roomy. My daughter had one.
I have one an I love it fuck what hes talkin bout.
My first car 2016 Versa sv I got in college. However the suspension is very sensitive. Also the usb is not for charging phone but for playing music if u have an iPhone 🥲😅
I’ll take it if it’s so bad.
ANT JACK ILL TAKE YOU AND SACRIFICE YOU FOR YUMMM
The car has more room than you stated......coming from a 6ft 1 in 260lb man.
Ditto, same size. Drove straight through from LA to Portland. No aches no pains no cramps even being an old geezer.
I got a 2017 manual versa and I love it....
We just bought this exact year versa and my wife loves it!
If it gets wrecked you won’t miss it and because it is so cheap, it is easily replaceable.
you pay for what you get
And you need to compare apples to apples. You don't take a Shetland pony to a horse race with quarter horses then dog the pony for having short legs. Or put a high strung quarter horse in a petting zoo and blame the kids for getting kicked.
I sold a 2012 versa hatch 1.8 with 240k miles and now own a 2008 versa hatch 1.8 with 155k miles. These are the so reliable .
Thanks Deshawn! It definitely gets good gas mileage.
Wrong, the mitsubishi mirage is worse😂
Yes, Mitsubishi is soooooo bad
"There's very little headroom".
What? Dude, you have a foot above your head.
Edit. You're hating the car for no reason. Look at the dang pricetag bud.
When I am sitting straight up driving down the road there is maybe 3-4 inches max. Maybe less. Im not hating for no reason I spent 4 days and 2000 miles in that car.
