- Drove around the Nissan Versa SV 2019 model for a little while and it did not thrill me, but it did help me understand what sort of budget the Versa is designed for. Overall it is a simple car that gets the job done.

Ive had mine for a year.I Have The 2019 base model with the manual transmission. Good on gas, Very Roomy, Reliable so far (I Floor It All The Time), Small Payment. Only cons are low horse power, and if its super windy it moves side to side and its worse in the rain. If you want a new car and your not picky and you dont wanna hurt your wallet this is the car for you!
Well said! Thanks for dropping a comment my Friend 🙏🏿
My granny said that that’s the kind of car I should get since I’m a new driver 💙
They are good little cars!
It’s a great car for beginners !
I love my 2019 Nissan versa it gets me where I need to go and do cost that much.
I'm not mad at that :)
I laughed out loud at least 6 times during this video lol. Thanks for the jokes and brutal honesty about the car 😂
Hopefully the guys at Nissan don't come for me lol. Thank you :)
Same.
Idc I love my car I be whipping it, it goes fast when I’m driving it 🤷🏽♀️😂 I have 2019 SV special edition
Haha good I would too!
This thing can’t outrace my bicycle tho
@britteney I just brought my 1st car it’s a Nissan Versa SV 2019 I loveeeeee her 🥰😊
@@angelabrown0118 yasss girl congratulations 🥰🥰
@britteney edwards thanks 😊 congratulations on your baby mine is Smurfette la’Blu 😉🚙🤗
Absolutely no mention of the side mirrors? They are amazing. They allow you to see pretty much everything alongside your car, without having to crane your neck or continually readjust them. Aside from the car's roominess, those mirrors are the most standout feature it has. No other car compares.
Thanks John I appreciate ya adding that in!
Smiling!
I have the one below that one. No power locks, no folding rear seats and a 5 speed manual 2019. It's the kind of car the dealer hates people to buy because it's so basic.
I can work on it myself and it will last 300,000 miles for the most part.
Thats a them problem though haha. I'm glad its treating you well my friend. Sick Jeep you got there too!
This is how you live below your means. I kinda like this car.
Exactly right!
My little brother just financed this as his first car and he loves it. I financed a 2011 Fusion Hybrid a week before him and like mine better.
Awesome choices! Yeah the Fusion's more of a big bro ride for sure lol 🙌🏿
I love it! From dalla to Houston go/back and be chilling all day there i just spend 25 on gas.
That's the way to go keep money in your pocket!
Funny thing is the 2007 buick Lucerne is basically the sam thing. Just larger with more bells and whistles, but the same appliance feeling.
Fun fact for me thanks for the comment 🙏🏿
I bought one because i wanted a simple car, and i love the body
I respect that! And I appreciate ya checking out the video Tom!
This was funny dude 👍
haha thanks my friend always nice to see this video still alive and well
I stole a few of those lines and used them on my girlfriend, got a good laugh out of it many thanks, good vid made me laugh for the majority of it👍🏽
Haha thanks, use them wisely!
I think I’m in love hahah great review!
haha thank you!
I remember having to rent one of these while on vacation. For me this was extremely extremely slow. It could be because I drive a Lexus IS250 and I’m used to a V6, but I felt like this thing was struggling to speed up while getting on the freeway. Slow!
Haha so so slow.
i love the manual controls for air conditioner. i wouldnt call it reliable though. the cvt is known to fail and theres like 20 separate class action lawsuits who won about this.
Lol that's fair
here in mexico our versa is slower, we have a 4 gear auto transmission, i tested 0-60 and got 14 seconds. well this is a 2016 versa
Oh my goodness lol
Looks like they took more than a few pages out of the Toyota ECHO's handbook, my first new car. Looking for good mileage, but don't think I wanna go this far back in time. The low power and flimsily in wind/rain reviews worry me. How's the front seat leg room? I'm about an inch taller than you and I'm a little sick of my knees touching steering wheels. The Japanese seem to forget that we're a little taller over here than there..
Totally agree and front leg room is decent for avg size people id say
Awesome review! Great sense of humor. 😄
Thank you! 😁
My dad has a rental car it's called the same car as in the video it's a great car it has a great engine sound to it
Thanks for dropping a comment! It makes a little meow lol but it's enough
I'm thinking of getting a used one. To be fair, it'd be a huge upgrade compared to my 2015 chevy sonic. I don't drive fast, I don't care about that. The basic entertainment features are better than what I had, I had a radio with an aux connection... that's it. I didn't have power windows, and my side mirrors both snapped internally and just flopped around. It struggled going around a corner, like I'm talking a small bump and it would turn off power to the gas pedal. The internals broke from normal use. Both of my sun visors broke off, a cop searched me and removed my fuse cover (I was innocent 😂) and it couldn't go back on. It accelarated decently for about a year, but after that it started to take longer and longer. Everything inside the car's design was ugly, and a complete trap if you did something like drop change, and you better bet it was hard to clean in those areas. I could go on... Now that I've seen this video, I will consider getting a car worth a few thousand more. But if you owned a car for around 9 years that had way worse features than this, then you'd see this as an upgrade. If I get it, I'll use this video as a guide to talk the price down. 😂
hahah thanks for the laughs and if you show this to a salesman I would die laughing. Good luck on your car hunt
Don't leave the keys In the ignition and get out without rolling down the window or sumthin the versa will lock the doors
Damn good to know lol
I have accidentally locked myself out of my car at least a handful of times
Omggg I locked myself out one time bc of this, I’m glad I was near my home at the time
GREAT NISSAN.
It gets the job done no doubt about that
I bought a 2017 Versa S manual a month ago. So far so good...
Good stuff! Glad to hear that. I have yet to see anyone I know with the manual. How is that transmission?
@@LJsGarage It is not as smooth as a Honda's transmission, but it is very easy to use, shift, etc. I would even dare say it's one of Nissan's better transmissions. I'm averaging 36 mpg, so not bad there, either.
Also, it's really easy to spin the tires if you decide to push it. No clutch dumping required.
@@neuideas thats pretty sweet haha. I haven't driven any manual nissan other than an old old Xterra and a 350/370z and I was pretty happy with those so if it's even remotely close to those it would be a pleasure.
It's not so much that the car doesn't have shortcomings. It has very little noise suppression, so the wind and the engine are loud, and only get louder as the car goes faster. It's not a race car. Its styling is frumpy. I'd really like to be doing under 3,000 RPM's at highway speeds. I wish it had less aerodynamic drag -- the wind pushes it around a lot, compared to most cars. It has some good, too. Its pricing is difficult to resist, the S model actually uses a basic key with no electronics or resistors (inexpensive to get spare keys made); my expectation is that it will be inexpensive to maintain and hopefully it will last me 10 years or more with minimal mechanical or electronic/electric issues (crosses fingers). It's very good on fuel. It's roomy. It has great overall visibility, especially with those amazing side mirrors. The manual transmission is pretty smooth. The seats, although not the least bit fancy, are pretty comfortable. It's a rolling compromise for the budget set.
My ideal car would probably be a late model Civic coupe, with a manual transmission, preferably in red or black. I saw a 2017 LX coupe with the manual transmission for sale when I was shopping for this car, but they were asking $14k, which was a bit out of my budget. The Versa was a little over half that price -- a little more than a third if you discount the down payment. Time will tell, of course, but it is my hope that I made a decent decision out of my viable choices available. I couldn't reasonably expect to get many more miles out of the Altima, and the list of things to be done on it was growing too long. Once the check engine light came on, that was the last straw.
I love mine! I bought mine from a rental company 😂😂😂
Good haha. They're solid just not the fastest
Mitsubishi’s Versa and Micra is the Mirage. How does that compare to this?
Performance one in the same but I'd go versa over Mitsubishi unless you find a Micra with warranty left
I love, n hate my car. I wish it had a better fastet pick up...But its good for a first timer car
Agreed with you on that! Otherwise very solid ride
if you want a very fast car, there s dodge challenger, camaro, corvette , etc, this is a conmute car thats it...
Carlos that is true
I rented one of those and you're spot on with the description. It wouldn't be too bad as a spare, but if you want good primary transportation, buy a used Cadillac CTS. You'll enjoy the ride. It's smooth and quiet. The versa makes you feel like you're driving a riding lawnmower.
Exactly! Great spare ride if you just need something for A to B and genuinely do not care.
Which is nicer? A 2014 Cruze Diesel? Or a 2017 Versa S?
I would choose the Versa but nicer is subjective just depends on the style you like better. I like both though 👌🏿
I just got a 2015 sv model for $8K
Great deal! Especially in this market
How much miles
"SV" stands for "Standard Value".
does it have carplay?
No sadly
Are you recording on military installation?
Negative.
LJs Garage haha ok ill pretend
@@ASBIIIT drones can't fly on base so no pretending needed lol I appreciate the concern
LJs Garage oh yeah you right I forgot they told my dad that too lol well ok
I don’t even have the pop trunk on my key 😭😭
haha I didnt even think about that
Obey the Versa
😁
is there a back camera?
It does!
US govt mandated backup cameras on all cars dated 2019+
I haven't 2019 Nissan versa all black with tinted windows spoiler on the back with Bluetooth I have to admit this car on gas I put 25 dollars it will last me on whole week
Well done 👌🏿 thats one of the selling points on these and you cleaned yours up nicely it sounds
It’s a depressing car. Just traded mine in cus the trans felt weird at times and it only had 34k miles
Ouch that's a shame, I hope you found something very nice to trade up to
@@LJsGarage I got a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Big upgrade
Its basic but thats the way i like it 😁
Nothing wrong with that at all!
It’s faster than that
Nuh uhhh lol
You for got to mention, that the transmission is a CVT problem..
Make sure you do your transmission changes..
Either than that , it's a good car.. save a lot of gas.. if you leave your lights on. the car turn off the lights , and if you forget to lock your doors while driving, the Nissan Versa will lock the doors for you.. it even tells you when you run out of gas..
The only thing you really , really have to worry is the transmission..🤔🤯
Bring the Micra to the US
Second that!
I go zero to 60 in 5sec in mine 😂😂
Show me the way 😂
Seriously my Accent is finally faster and a lot louder than this!! Woo I’m finally cool!! Lol
😂😂😂
Still versa is better
@@14NASER41 all cars need love!
@@LJsGarage Except korean
@@LJsGarage Joking🙂
2020 has upgraded to WAY better features
I like how reviewers sit there and trash on vehicles that aren't $25k plus. They seem to forget that sometimes that's all some people can afford.
You can stop. It makes you look entitled and self centered.
I think you missed the point where I said that it's a great A to B car that meets all the things a car needs to be, oh and that this versa is great value :) but I appreciate your time watching!
If communism or socialism was a car, it would be this Versa, or better yet, the even cheaper Yugo or Trabant or Dacia or Lada!!😆😆😆
If capitalism was a car, it’s be a Rolls-Royce or a Cadillac or a Bentley or a Ford or Toyota.
Since Nissan is owned by the same company that owns Dacia and Lada, technically we Americans and Canadians have our own Dacia, this Versa. Dacia is a Romanian car brand, and I was born in Romania! Dacia is the cheapest European car in the market.
🤣🤣
My 1996 camry had power windows lol its a horrible car
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣💀😭🤦🏽♀️
:) thanks for watching!
You say this is you least favorite car "ever"? I stopped watching immediately. Somebody who rates the car they hate the most has reality issues. Do keep your day job.
Thanks for the career advice :)
