    How/where do you list high school classes taken in middle school on the high school transcript? Love all the resources you have listed here!

      Thank you for watching! You can do it several ways, one of which I show in this video that I’ll link below. Basically can title it, Early HS credits or similar title before your high school years. But that’s only one way. I show it in this video here and others after.

    I got the women’s lit (sci fi and fantasy for my daughter). I’ve only glanced through it but it seems fabulous!

      I can’t wait for that one! What grade is your daughter going to be in?

    • @elizabethnye7896
      @elizabethnye7896 5 месяцев назад

      She’s going into ninth but I think it’s doable for her second semester. She was mildly interested in the content which is often not the case with lit so I jumped on it lol.

      @@elizabethnye7896 same as Bella! I leveled up for history too, even though it was suggested for a bit older. I think it’s fine, OM is flexible.

    This is invaluable, Arlene! Thank you for generously sharing this with us! So smart to get a jump start on the research and planning before 9th grade. And I love the idea of keeping records of course overviews so you aren’t scrambling to remember and draft something for a college in the midst of application time.

    Thank you so much for the detailed review! We are likely using Oak Meadow as our core for high school as well. I should probably know this by now, but have you had any experience with the enrolled classes with Oak Meadow? We've only ever done the self-directed version, but I'm curious about the Spanish classes.

    • @Arleneandcompany
      @Arleneandcompany  5 месяцев назад +2

      My pleasure! No, we haven’t done any of the enrolled courses. Would love to for high school, since they can issue the diploma; but it’s out of our price range. I’ve only heard great things from the OM facebook group, for what that’s worth.

    Thank you so much for this! What are your thoughts on AP exams and dual enrollment? We might be looking at out of state universities and some selective programs.

    • @Arleneandcompany

      I went over DE in my big picture planning video too. For us it’s not a focus since we have other things we need to be mindful of. ND house here, so things vary a bit. However, that being said, DE and AP for the right child can be instrumental. If your goals together fit a more accelerated track, it can truly be beneficial. I also go over some cons (to us) in that other video as someone that graduated at 16 and was in honors track the whole way through. But those are my reservations and may only apply to a few. But I always aim to be honest with any potential drawbacks. With selective colleges , they typically are looking for well balanced and unique workload. College classes gives them a picture of how well they can handle college level workload. Overall, it can be a great option and you would just swap out classes from your outline with college courses. I didn’t note that here, since at this moment , I’m not too sure that DE will be the path for us. But of course things can change.
