Heartfelt hugs to you, Arlene. As soon as I saw the title, I knew our lukewarm beverage date would come with a side of tears. I can never tell you enough how grateful I am that you have shared your journey - the tough bits and the paydays. Your vulnerability and encouragement act as a balm for my weary soul on those seemingly impossible days. It's been a pleasure and an honor watching the evolution of your and Bella's partnership. Congratulations to all of you!
Watching your children grow into the people their meant to be is an amazing experience ❤ I am so impressed with your ability to accept and nurture the children you have in front of you. This video was so encouraging thank you for sharing!
I’ve made many mistakes along the way, but there’s beauty in each mistake. It helped mold me in how I parent and teach today. Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to join me here for a bit 🩵
I so so loved this video! My youngest is 11 and just entering the middle school years so it was an important reminder to me to treasure every moment! Also- we are big, huge Denison fans here- I've got 4 students using it, from learning disabled to gifted. My 17-year-old daughter who had given up on any math successfully completed Pre-Algebra and will start on the regular-path Algebra next year. My gifted 11-year-old completed regular Algebra I and is jumping into Geometry next year- Mr. Denison had recommended Shormann for her but she's a die-hard Denison fan and I think his gentle way works so well with her quirky personality,. My son going into 12th had struggled through another Algebra I before we found Denison has succeeded with Geometry and is wanting to get right started on Algebra II that just arrived. And my grandson will be using Success Algebra this coming year. Now you've got me exploring the Oak Meadow. That's one we've never tried but I always hear great things about it. Do you think it's a good curriculum to use with a gifted child? Is it adaptable to use with a child with learning challenges? Anyway- thank-you for sharing your heart- ❤
Oh, that’s amazing! Yes, Oak Meadow can be great for both gifted kiddos and those with learning challenges. My kids are 2e, so we get the best of both worlds, and they like the balance. Oak Meadow won’t work for everyone; it has a unique style that provides holistic rigor but is easily adaptable for those who struggle. For the younger years, especially for a child that may struggle with reading, you might need explicit phonics instructions added. I mention this for the benefit of others reading this, as I know your youngest probably passed that stage. I have individual reviews of subjects and levels that walk you through them and may give you a better idea of its implementation.
Sending hugs, momma. Thank you for this. ❤ You are so brave to speak to your grief and this bittersweet part of parenting where we have to step back and appreciate that we’ve given them roots AND wings. ❤
♥Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable. It is clear how proud of her you are and you should be proud of yourself too and how far you've all come. Such a sweet and encouraging video. 🥰I have a 9 year old, 5 year old and 18month old and already wish time would slow down. "The days are long, but the years are short," so very true.
I loved watching you reflect on your last middle school year with your first baby. Always our babies 💚, no matter how tall and independent they get, right? I need to chat with you about the BHP - I was considering it for N11 next year. I wish you and B the best of luck for high school!!! ❤🎉❤
This was such an inspiring video. I’ve been with you since the beginning and what a journey it’s been. Watching your journey and being in the midst of mine with all the ups and downs, all of which was priceless, hard but so worth it. Thanks for your sharing your truth.
Awww 💕💕💕 I was tearing up right along with you! My kiddo is a rising 8th grader. I can’t believe it, and I’m definitely not ready for it. 😭 (Upshot…laundry ✅:)
“Did I hit pause enough?” Lately, I have been asking myself that question daily 🥲. My oldest is entering her senior year and really only has a couple more classes to take to be done. We are going on college visits and I’m like WAITTTT how is this possible!?? Then my middle daughter is entering her last year in middle school…. 🥹 Thank you for being transparent. Homeschooling is hard…being a mommy is hard…dealing with and grieving different life stages is hard. But I’m so grateful for it all🩷🩷🫶🏽😅
