Not taking notes is the single best piece of advice. Focus on getting the information into your head from the get go and learn to have confident memory.
Couldn't agree more about taking note. Once I stopped wasting my time to make the whole new note and only jotted down the important things during the class, I have more time to spend on reviewing the content like speaking to myself over and over or practicing the exam. In this way, the knowledge is more absorbed and it's with me longer. 💖
I read textbooks and just small notes that I took during the classes, I didn’t mean that I didn’t take any notes. I just didn’t rewrite all the notes, but spend time reading and acknowledge myself by talking to myself. Anyways, everyone has different methods of absorbing knowledge. 🥰
I’m a med student in Turkiye. I have an exam in 8 days. Today I studied 6 hours, took notes and watched videos. At the and of the say I realized that I only wasted my time and got nothing in my brain. It was so disappointing. I have not much space to took voice notes but I’ll try that brillant idea. Thank u sis!
Wow, I didn't know how much I needed to see someone else doing what I started doing. I really felt like I was doing a mistake when I stopped taking notes and watching lectures, because I found that it did not help me at all, but I was the only one who did it and people looked at me like I was crazy. But the time I gained from it is really used in a much more effective way. I am also a foreigner studying in a second language, so I really take double the time to complete the tasks other medical students need.
To the person reading this who may be tired of studying but HAS to; sometimes, before studying, you need to remind yourself what you're doing this for. you're doing this so you can enjoy your life later. you could even be doing this in hopes of going to university and partying the heck out of a Friday night. you'll get there you can do it. let's try to make it together, eh? smiles and offers you a hand

For me it goes tactile (most effective) -> visual-> auditory (least effective) This means that I *have* to take notes to learn. I have to touch, highlight, write. The next best one is reading. And even when I’m not taking notes from reading I sometimes move my hand as if writing. Auditory learning does nothing for me. In one ear and out the other. I’m so glad Zeliha found what’s best for her and to be honest it’s the most fortunate learning method. No hand cramps. Best for what she will be doing since she’ll be talking with patients. But I encourage everyone to modify their learning methods based on which input (tactile/visual/auditory) works best for them
I find this topic of study methods so interesting. I actually learn the best when I listen to lectures. The audio just lives rent-free in my brain lol. But it’s really interesting to see so much variability when it comes to studying.
from just watching this video, I have learned that we spend so much time doing things just to do them before the deadline or before we move on to another topic rather than trying to process and understand the materials we have learned

Thank u Zehila! We have a lot in common. I'm a first-year medical student and I also find taking notes a waste of time. I don't usually have enough time to practice questions and review my study when I did note-taking. I was considering stopping note-taking and your video encouraged me
I have just started my journey of medical school but I have really found this video so helpful especially recording voice notes it's really helpful...thank you dearie💕
I am a engineering graduate but I have similar experience like you. I think note making is time-consuming and your solution for it is using voice notes which is great way. My friends and I used to divide units and teach each other which helped us a lot. Using Diagrams to study topics and concepts has been one of the great ways we found. At the end we only tried remembering diagrams. Yes books were never useful for scoring well. So youtube has been a great resource. I got some great tips in this video. Thanks for sharing them!😊💖

I love your study techniques, your focus and dedication . Im not a med student but some of your techniques have been helping me . Do you have any tips on studying maths . GCSE or A LEVELS that can save time whilst being productive? Great videos , great channel x
My most effective study method (proven) as a med student is studying in a way to pass quizzess and exam. Those two are the main source of grades in med school. Idk what i should do, if I need to read a texbook Ill read it, if i need to listen to lectures ill listen. I always try to predict what will be in the test, if u dont know, just asks upperclassmen. I always take a book quiz after a lecture, and I always take note my mistakes after a quiz from my professor to think why I didn’t answer jt right. What I dont do is study long hours and do troublesome long notes. I study 2-3 times a day. 20-45 mins each session. Just keep things simple guys, and at first, it is good to give it your all and then adjust accordingly after a month
I shared your channel with my younger brother who hopefully will be starting uni within the the next year he’s currently not sure if he wants to study medicine or not, hopefully this helps him.
The approach to study preparation really depends on subject. As an engineering graduate, math, the physical sciences, and programming require lots of problem solving. The lecture material serves to let you know what material is pertinent. The real understanding comes from working problems in the text.
This video is so helpful! Gonna start using test banks now & do practice questions/active recall instead of note-taking coz it takes too much time and i have a lot to memorize.
Consider text books if your professors do not offer PowerPoints.. you’re going to need some sort of direction for your studies.. most of the learning is independently done. Great tips, thanks for sharing!
