Watching this vlog was so comforting because tomorrow is also my first day as a Doctor and i could relate to you in every way possible and suddenly it made me feel less anxious and alone. Couldn’t have come in a better time ❤ Good luck to you on your new endeavour!
Bidaha ders calismicak olman nasil bi duygu onu anlatirmisin o bütün stres 5-6 yilin verdigi yük gitti ve suanki rahatligini tahmin edemiyorum
My cousin does the same too 😊
hows your life now since youve been doing it for 2 weeks now
☕😃
This felt so realistic, it took me back to my early days as a doctor. Don’t be discouraged, Zeliha. Starting at a smaller hospital can actually be an advantage. The slower pace allows you to learn and absorb everything properly, rather than rushing through and feeling overwhelmed. It’s just two years, and you have your whole career ahead of you. Enjoy this time, you’ll look back and be grateful for it.
Use this opportunity to work hard and prepare for training in a city, as that’s your goal. Being in a smaller hospital might even give you more time to prepare compared to those in busier city hospitals. I know it’s hard to be away from family, but think of those who move to entirely different countries and live alone. Your family is still closer than theirs.
You’re a hardworking and kind soul, and I’m confident you’ll find happiness and success. Keep going, you’ll eventually get to where you’ve always dreamed of being….❤❤❤
"think of those who move to entirely different countries and live alone." this was a good one. gone through this. It is just a matter of time and adaptation
I totally agree. U will learn more in small hospitals - literally covers everything than in the city. It will prep you well
this is so thoughtful of you! thanks for sharing this comment, there are people who might need to see this 💕
Very well said! Yes, Zeliha, dont be discourage. You've barely begin your medical journey! Embrace it and enjoy the ride as much as you can.
I wouldve loved hearing this if i was in her situation ❤
its so refreshing to see a vlog where theyre not all preppy and have their life 100% perfect. its nice to see genuine emotion and feelings shown, like anxiety. I suffer from continuous anxiety during the school season and its up and down, but seeing a vlog where they can relate to it is really nice
One of the things I always appreciated about the military was that it provided a supportive environment while also teaching us to "adult". The maturity I may not have had at 18 was much better developed at 24, for sure. Not sure I would have been remotely as successful in life if I'd just jumped straight into college from high school.
i liked the fact that you showed that you are also worried about future and things can't always go as we planned or decided and that there are ups and downs thank you so much for remainding us may god help you
I know the feeling of starting your first job after university. It’s like entering a whole new phase of life. There’s this unexplainable heaviness and a strange feeling in your heart. Everything feels new, and when things don’t turn out as expected, it can feel disappointing. But I’m confident you’ll get used to it. Everything will start to feel familiar, and you’ll get through this. Sending love ❤
I live in a rural town where no one wants to be stationed as a doctor (which is wild by the way because it is a Caribbean island). As someone living in a rural town, we are grateful when good doctors do want to be here. So even though it is hard and far from family, be glad you can provide needed care to rural communities who need and desire quality care. You are doing a good thing and it means a lot to the patients in your care!
I can tell you're overwhelmed from everything that's been happening and that's perfectly normal. You're doing good Zeliha! Rooting for you.
Exactly! It's okay for her to have mixed emotions until she adjusts fully to her environment, she'll grow to be okay with it and look back thinking "it was so worth it". She can do this!!!!
My Daughter is at uni she is 22 and studying to be a Mental health nurse and loves it , i'll show her this i am sure it will encourage her through the ups and downs .....your parents i can imagine are proud of you and rightly so all the best for the future.
The hardest blow is when you are a diligent student but the education system fails you. I have really thought about what you said in your graduation video. how unfair it is that something so important is chosen through lottery system. But luck favours the bold. Hope you take this on boldly
Wait till y'all know abt the reservation systems in india
@@ishitaaaa5134😂😂yeah they'll just go insane finding that
what is the reservation system there, ishita? (Sorry, my @ function doesn’t work for some reason 🥲)
The system has not failed her ! In the UK we believe in ALL patients having equal access to the best care, not just in large cities ! Therefore, junior doctors have to work where they are allocated, whether they were top students or not.
Or iran. Honestly, what she has is like a dream to iranian's doctors @ishitaaaa5134
Dr.Zeliha, many brilliant doctors I know did not start their practice in big cities. They started out as 24 hour duty doctors in small villages in the middle of nowhere using very little resources to diagnose and treat a patient. It is hard now but this experience will compound to your overall journey as a doctor who gives hope to patients. Sending lots of love, hope and support from India.
I love your comment so much, espicially that you called her Dr ❤❤❤
I just wanted to say i love how your parents are always with you throughout your journey it's so wholesome.
Edit: Thanks for this much likes wow!!!
They are lovely and so supportive! Such a cute family!
Hellow can be my friend?😊@zainaa-u3b
@zelihaakpinar Bu onun ilk tercihi olmayabilir ama İngiliz olmayan biri olarak İngiliz kırsalında sevdiğim bir şey var. Bana Wallace ve Gromit'i hatırlatıyor. 😊
But she's too young to live with her parents...weird🥲
Cuz she is Turkish
I cried a little bit while watching this cause I felt like I was there, a new place that you didn't want after all that hard working,I won't be able to understand what you feel completely but I know that everything will be okay cause god is here and you're such a nice person so you deserve the best of everything
Zeliha I actually think you're in a better spot then you realize. If you would have been in a big city, you would have been bombarded with workload that you are not used to. Over here you get to learn properly at a slower less exhausting pace which I think will be a great asset for you In Shaa Allah. Also, I know your accommodation might now be on par with what you are used to but it's pretty nice compared to what you get in my country at a fancy hospital. Just have a very positive mindset and don't let others negative remarks and negative mentality get to you. You are a doctor, and you will help heal people in this village that you had never imagined meeting before. They will be lucky to have a hard working and diligent doctor like you there. I wish you all the best in this world and the world hereafter, you have started a new chapter in your life and I am so proud of you.
This is the sweetest comment. Love and support to you ❤️🫂
You're super sweet mashallah

Right. Eventually she will work her way up to where she wants to be.
I admire not only your work ethic, your commitment to being a medical professional, but also your commitment and skills wanting to be a good storyteller through videos. I cannot imagine how much time and effort it takes to do both. Thank you for sharing this slice of life with us, and know that many of us support your endeavors and wish you well. Life can be difficult at moments, but the one great thing is that change is certain and inevitable. I wish you the best in all things and thank you for sharing your story with all of us.
Years ago, I shared a flat in Edinburgh with friends who were all junior doctors. One of them once fell asleep momentarily while cycling home after an exhausting 72-hour shift at the old Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. After finishing his shift, he cooked a meal, ate it in the kitchen, and immediately passed out on the floor from sheer exhaustion. We ended up tucking him in where he lay, with a pillow under his head and a duvet over him-it felt like the best thing we could do.
Despite those grueling days in the early 2000s, they all went on to have highly successful careers as doctors in the NHS. Watching them navigate that intense period gave me immense respect for them, their profession, and the NHS.
While I hope working conditions will improve under the Labour government, I know it’s never an easy road. But if you view medicine as a vocation worth pursuing, I’m confident you’ll have a fulfilling career-and don’t forget to keep traveling!
A 72 hour shift? Is that even legal
You can dramatically improve the ambiance of an ugly room simply by switching the lighting! If you have a desk lamp with a warmer tone, I find it helps a lot my mood at night.
From university to japan to finally a job ❤ I just love your journey and your videos please never stop uploading ❤❤ 😭
I’m 61. I’ve squandered three full ride scholarships and have been told I should’ve been a doctor by two doctors. I was very foolish at those when I should’ve been paying attention and now I live on just about $700 a month with government assistance for my rent where I pay 30% of my income to rent a bedroom. Twelve in all share the kitchen and upstairs’ lounge. Four bathrooms so I share with two others and that’s a small improvement. My message to you is to cherish this time in your life. Pay attention. One day you’ll want this more than anything. You’ll be fine. Just stay strong and know that you’re not alone. I’m a new subscriber that is living vicariously through you. You are amazing! Life is there just waiting for you. Always, Andy
I miss her sm.... so proud of you all the sacrifies and hardwork paid off😭💗
you inspired me sm thankyou for thatt
Every beginning is difficult, but it marks the start of very important opportunities. Wishing you success!
Congratulations Dr.Zeliha🎉🎉🎉

2. 1M Subs
Keep going!!! Love You so much❤❤❤

See these are the moments life puts us in to get out of our comfort zone and experience new moments. God is with you through it all!!
Remember why u started. Like one of ur friends said, future docs could be watching. I'm watching. I know u can do it. U r my idol. Please keep tryinggg
Girl it's alright to feel sad or wanting to cry, you're so beautiful and hard working. We love to see your vulnerable side. At the end of the day we need to chase our dreams that's how life is, sometimes we have to live by ourselves for our passon or career
Zeliha we knew it would be rough because on the first day you were still awake at 11:30pm! 😆Hope you have settled in to the place now and found things to enjoy about working there. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us again 🥰
Sometimes While the things that we think well might be worse for us, the things that we think bad might be better for us. Thinking positively relieves you, and makes you healthier physically and mentally. I hope you will be successful in your career.
Yayayay!! Congratulations, we're so proud of you!!!
I love how real you are with your feelings, it’s really inspiring. Wishing you all the best Zeliha! 💪🏼
As a silent watcher, you're doing amazing
Great way to start the morning by watching a new Zeliha video! Appreciate the transparity in the video and not just faking everything to be perfect like often portrayed on social media.
Starting in a small town after dreaming of a big city must feel like a mix of emotions. Saying goodbye to family is always hard. I’ve been through that too. Wishing you strength and happiness as you adjust to this new chapter of life!
OMGGG SHE'S A DOCTORRRRRR I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING FOR SO LONGGGGGG
Think about it this way. In a village hospital, you really are serving the needs of a community who definitely don’t have the same resources as other places. If the choice was up to doctors, those places may not have proper hospitals because staff don’t want to go out to smaller quieter areas.
Omg yes, I am not normally the want to hate or comment , but it just feels like she could be more grateful for where she is, like serving a small town is so much better than the big city in London. And also the fact that she has a room to live in and she has got a job opportunity.
Anyway she is beautiful and has come a long way to be able to become a doctor ❤️❤️ embrace it.
This felt like a comfort hug. I started work today as the Asst. Tech Director at a mid sized startup. And I m so nervous & scared to manage multiple teams. I have no idea what to expect or feel. I feel excited but lost at the same time bcse suddenly starting at the top of the company feels scary. Thank u for making me feel relatable.
I see my future self in her. Im 13 and I wanna be a doctor in the US. I don't know how she kept it together. I would break down in the airport itself. You give me hope that I can manage. Thank you Dr.Zeliha..
u can do this.
Oh myyyyy. The last video I watched was when you were still in Japan and now m, you’re a doctor already! Congratulations!
A new physician? Congratulations! We are so fortunate to have you…thank you for persevering.
te admiro mucho, te sigo desde antes y verte ya cumplir tus metas me motiva mucho a seguir con esta carrera ❤❤
As an Egyptian medical student I want to tell you that you are actually in a really nice please thousands of Egyptians doctors wish to live in even a small city in England as they would at least get paid in Egypt junior doctors would only get paid about 40 dollars A MONTH !!! Wallahy I am not joking and the average resident doctor working at like 36hour shifts gets paid around 80 dollars to 90 dollars a month and luck you if you got 100 dollars, that’s on top of very hard working conditions and the lack of resources, so please be grateful to where you are now it’s way better than you think I know you hoped for better with is what you and a lot of other hard working doctors deserve but thank god you here❤
Congrats Zeliha, I’m sure you’ll come to love your apartment and the little town. Create lots of good memories 😊
🎉Congratultions ZELIHA🙏 . Finally youre a DOCTOR 🩺now I am so GLAD.
I am so much Inspied by you and proud of you for hard work and timeles dedication you put in both your social and proffesional life
I study in class 12 and preparing for MED SCHOOL EXAM that is NEET in INDIA and you spread POSITIVITY at last THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤🥰😊
I am so happy that you are finally a doctor Zeliha, isn’t so exciting. loves to your family and youu❤.
As someone moving into college, and getting "started with life", it's really nice to see an authentic experience, regardless of whether it will be similar to mine. Positivity is great, really, but it's helpful to understand the struggles you might go through. I wish you all the best, as usual!
Thank you for giving us the real experience in real life in social media that we miss a lot
Welcome to the real world! I have spent forty years living in places I would rather not. But I went where the jobs were. You will be fine and remember that you’re just starting out. You don’t know what the future holds. Don’t overthink your situation, just take advantage of the opportunity you have. Again, you’re just starting your professional life. Best wishes for the next chapter of your life.
It's so nice to watch a realistic vlog like this ❤ I'm sure you will do great and build your dream life slowly
😊
Was depressed af when i was an fy1 in basingstoke living off shitty hospital accomodation. I made some incredible friends there but damn it was hard. Then moved to the isle of wight for fy2. Oddly an amazing year due to the slower pace. Now im a gpst1 in cambridge. Hang in there girl, I sympathise with your plight and i hope its upwards from here.
your videos are so genuine to the level that I felt anxious and nervous for your first day. Hope it went well. Good luck and all the best for your career!
I definitely think you should travel to like Egypt and see how the people live there, even the rich people. It will make you realize how nice you have it with your housing and the area you are in. That's what I did for me. I know this isn't the thing that you envision for yourself, but just focus on learning, meeting good people, and investing in yourself. I think if you decorate your room, change those awful curtains, get a nice rug, get some nice lighting it will really help warm up the space and make you feel a lot Cozier and like it's a little Oasis for you. Spend this time trying to develop yourself, try new hobbies, work on learning how to cook, get in touch with nature and your body. Things will work out, you have a very sweet heart and things have a way of panning out in a way that will help you grow and be the best version of yourself❤
Absolutely I would be so grateful. It looks nice to me. I mean what type of place she used to being in? I must be poor.
Feeling happiness from witnessing the misery of others is not a very ethical thing to do…especially for a doctor😅
Just because other people have it bad doesn't mean she is not allowed to feel down🙄just because you don't have things in Egypt doesn't make her rich or mean. In Bulgaria for example I would say this would be an awful accomodation because it would make me really depressed - not because it's small, but because there is no light, she is far from family and other reasons. So don't be so judgemental about other people's lives, she is just sharing her experience and is honest and vulnerable
i actually think it looks really pretty and comfy, like at least it is clean and seems nice
Greetings, Zeliha, from Colombia! I am also a doctor and work with indigenous communities in the Amazon, an experience that blends modern medicine with the ancestral knowledge of local healers. One of the projects we are focused on is the implementation of intercultural health strategies to treat chronic diseases, such as diabetes, by adapting treatments that respect the traditions of the communities.
Hello! Was directed to your channel by a friend :) I really hope you're settling into your role now and the nerves are settling! Being in the middle of nowhere can seem pretty isolating but it's good you're bonding with the flatmates and keeping in touch with your friends and family, even if it's over the phone. Please stay positive, mentally, and hope you'll learn loads. Maybe you'll decide to move to London later down the line for locum work or training :) Good luck!
🙏🤗
Congratulations gurll!!! We're so prouddd of youuu❤
I graduated in software development in June and I didn't find my dream job within the sector that I accepted a role that wasn't my first choice aswell. Fastforward 6 months and due to my gained experience, I got the job I wanted. So basically what I'm trying to say is that what seems like a step back now, won't mean you can't make two steps at once in the future. Lastly, it's completely normal to feel insecure in the beginning, it will get better as you gain experience.
I enjoy your videos not only because I can relate to them as a medical student, but also because they are so realistic. You highlight both the positives and negatives as part of the journey, showing that ups and downs are a natural part of life, especially in a world where many only want to display their happy, perfect side. I hope you get through this successfully, and please wish me good luck-I have professional exams next week.
Zeliha I have so much respect for you. You have come so far. I am so proud of your accomplishments!
The lower the start the taller the rise. You’ll get through this, and I knoww you’re future houses will be stunning. You got this! I’m cheering you on from Vancouver BC. ✨✨

Starting watching you when you were still a med student, and just like you now, also beginning my medical career. You got this Zeliha!
8:52 you can clearly see that you are not comfortable with anything because you refuse to like it. I know that it is difficult for things to turn out 180° different, but you should try to look at things from another perspective. Starting to work in a quiet place is the best thing that could have happened to you. You don't need to feel bad. You are not "trapped" and you are not less of a doctor for being there. Think that the patients in that hospital and any hospital in London are still people who need medical attention and your are there for them, be happy ♡
Something about your videos that makes us feel like we are there too Very heart warming 💕
You are a smart girl..❤ from Azerbaijan❤
my first day as a resident doctor starts in 1a week and its oddly comforting when I realise I'm not the only one feeling anxious and out of place. i've been a day scholar (and an introverted single child) all my life, so stepping out of my comfort zone is a little scary.
3:48 you're so funny zeliha😂😂
