One of the advantages of coming late to a party is that you get a chance to see what everyone else is wearing. Obviously, Nissan benchmarked the Telluride and is wearing much the same outfit. And if it doesn't top or even quite equal the KIA that hit the 3 row SUV marketplace like an earthquake it appears to be a credible competitor. And that's quite an achievement considering that the last model wouldn't have even made it past the doorkeeper at the party.
Pathfinder Rock Creek vs Pathfinder base SL In my opinion the Rock Creek is the best looking Pathfinder model. And because of the suspension tuning and tires, it is the most capable Pathfinder model. It has some features and options like tow hitch, fog lamps, cargo liner, thick roof rack, rear captains chair, heated front seats, remote start, and off road tires that not even higher trim models have standard. But, it lacks a lot of other feature and options that make the Pathfinder more luxurious like heated steering wheel, power lift gate, power front passenger seat, full leather seats, wireless charging pad, I found the base model SL had more of those options than the Rock Creek and cost only few thosand more with discount. The SL also has a softer and quieter ride than the Rock Creek. Because the Rock Creek has off road tires, it is more rugged and more suitable for driving on rougher roads. Ultimatelty I decided to buy the SL for daily comfort and more features. The Rock Creek is actually a comfortable and quiet ride despite the off road tires, but the SL was more quiet and more comfortable. Both are just as capable off road but the SL has dress shoes tires and the Rock Creek has on hiking shoes tires.
Good effort from Nissan, but Telluride definite winner for me. No clue why Kia hasn’t put a hybrid or plug in hybrid in the Carnival or Telluride though
For those three row mid-size SUVs, I'd like they can have a three seat second row, after all the third row is for children or small sized adults, so if you have five people on the trip one person has to sit in the third row, so the experience will be worse than sitting in the second row of a compact SUV.
Traverse has that as a chevy fan it's beautiful on outside towing is great drives great its powerful but it's lacking on the interior come on Chevy step up your game
To all the folks buying the 2022 Kia Telluride, please take care of my future vehicle. I will be buying it once your lease ends in 3 years. Thanks for taking the initial depreciation hit as well!
Two best looking three row SUVs. Great job Nissan. The Grand Cherokee L is so bad compared to these. Pilot and Highlander need be redesigned to compete with these two.
Just bought a pathfinder the first time I started looking for this, while I went to two kia dealerships and walk right out after the outrageous markups. Glad I bought my pathfinder. The rear taillights look beautiful than the Telluride
@6:20 !!!! I knew it was strange that Nissan put the door handle dead center of the door! When he grabs it, he grabs the handle where it should, missing its central location
Makes it easier for kids to grab the handles. It seems Nissan really focused on the kid-friendliness of the pathfinder. You can also keep a child seat in place and still get into the third row. Something the Telluride can't do. Also, the placement of the buttons to move the seat is located low, again easier for kids to reach to get into the back.
@@trent7080 Consumer reports describes Nissan reliability this way: "Of the major Japanese brands, Nissan has the most inconsistent product line." of the Nissan models covered by CR, the Pathfinder has had the worst reliability record of all Nissan's going back to 2012. Like I said, not discussing brand and model reliability is a weakness with Edmunds and other reviews. It's easy to fall in love with a new car. However, reliability does matter, at least for those of us who don't work for a dealership.
Hi guys can someone explain why all of the 3row suv top of the line model only comes with captain seats in the second and not benched seats. It’s a doomer you have to get lower model with less features and not share looks as the top of the line.
Love em. I love seeing these SUVs dominate the market. I'm a nissan/Infiniti fanatic. The Bose speakers and acceleration do it for me. They have an intercom for the driver to speak to the passengers so that everyone can hear each other better. AN INTERCOM... And have y'all seen the dash in a telluride?! Nissan usually pits itself against Toyota but they may have a new war against Kia to take more seriously over Toyota
I can't find a telluride near me and given the new redesign that excited me. I figured I could get good value over a Palisade, Telluride, or highlander that are immensely popular and therfore overpriced because of their popularity. I like to go with underdogs that still provide value while people over pay for other brands. The problem is the Pathfinder falls short in quality and reliability. Consumer reports continues to rate Pathfinder a 1 out of 5 for reliability, that's just unacceptable. I'm currently leasing a frontier pro 4x, but some of the things consumer reports said were issues with the Pathfinder I'm starting to see in the pro 4x... The right window is slow to go up (which is absolutely pathetic given that it has less than 10k miles on it!!!). Also CR reported infotainment screen issues, going blank, not turning on always. I'm dealing with EXACTLY that on my pro 4x, again pathetic with under 10k miles on it. This concludes me that the new Nissan is just not what it once was, quality has fallen immensely. I won't be renewing my lease or getting into a pathfinder as a result. It's too bad cause this review almost had me, but based on my research, I'm steering clear of Nissan until I see improvements in quality and reliability.

@@DJMontePGH I had to book mine weeks before first one came and no choice in color just trim to get one first. Luckily I got a nice color. You can't get Kia not because of demand but because their Georgia factory keeps shutting down because of lack of components. Japanese manufacturers have better supply chains and in the case of Toyota, back up chips. Just in time manufacturing to cut cost is bitting Kia in the ass. The Sorento felt like a cheaper vehicle and smaller than the Pathfinder imho it is worth the 5K increase. I've gotten about 3-4 hours driving Sorento before I purchased Pathfinder. I only drove pathfinder for 30mins because I knew im sold.

KIA gives you a 10 yr power train warranty and 5 yr bumper to bumper. Nissan gives you 5 yr power train and 3 yr bumper to bumper. If Nissan is better, why not stand behind your product? Because it’s inferior. Nissan is rated #22 on JD Power 2021 vehicle dependability study. KIA is #3.
The telluride is a clear winner no one has dethroned and it yet, but let’s also remember the Honda Pilot is getting a new body for 2023 and the pilot is the blue print for the telluride.
Telluride is so much roomier inside, even though it is shorter overall. Telluride gives you 42 inches of 2nd row legroom, 31 inches of 3rd row legroom, and 21 cu-ft of cargo space behind the 3rd row at 196.9 inches long. The Pathfinder gives you 35 inches of 2nd row legroom, 28 inches of 3rd row legroom, and 16 cu-ft of storage space behind the 3rd row at 197.7 inches long. Pathetic effort on Nissan's part. Not only is the Telluride roomier, it is way more luxurious, more reliable, has a much longer warranty, has better driver assist tech, looks better both inside and outside, and will have far better resale due to the desirability.
Something that's not clear to me, even after speaking with a rep at the Nissan factory, is they claim the S model only has a 3500 lb towing capacity, and the SV and above have the 6000 lb capacity. Yet the engines and transmission are the same across all models. The SV premium pkg adds the transmission cooler, but that does not add towing capacity, and even without that premium pkg, the SV will tow 6000. So what's the answer to this one?!
@@jaehocho9718 yes, that's true, I bought the sv with premium pkg and it has 6,000 lb tow. But the question is why, cause it has the same engine and transmission as the s model?
@@jaehocho9718 no, I talked with my mechanic and he said a transmission cooler doesn't add towing capacity, only adds life to the transmission. So that's not it.

Pathfinder it is. Would never by a kia hyundai after their numerous recalls for engine failures/ fires and brake oil leaks. The VQ engine in the pathfinder is well proven and sounds fantastic too plus the ZF auto is bullet proof.
I feel like Nissan is buying so many comments. TBH I can't find that many advantages from the pathfinder compare to the korean twins to convince me to go for it.
The Pathfinder is all new? No. It's the same platform as the previous model with a different transmission (no CVT) and improved looks with upgraded mechanicals. It's not all new.
As with all other Nissan vehicles, the Pathfinder will have better availability and discounts than Kia. Nissan is a big mass production company and they cut prices like crazy, I've seen crazy low offers on the Murano, Altima and Sentra cars. Kia and Hyundai have been very greedy when it comes to negotiating prices, very low stock for both Palisade and Telluride. I don't see too many Telluride/Palisades on the streets here in NJ, not sure why but I think it will be much easier and affordable to get a Pathfinder down the road(maybe first year it will be expensive though).
After owning a Hyundai for 6 years, I would never buy another one. Apparently the guys Who work on them don’t have to have any degrees, they can just walk in and take a test and if they pass they’re a Hyundai technician. Which makes sense because I would say at least 7/10 times there was a problem fixed. I trade it in my Hyundai for a Nissan.

My Aunt has a 2014 Nissan Altima with 103,000 miles and it still runs and drives like new and she’s never spent a penny and repairs.
...negotiate? Use sites like Edmunds or car gurus or autobytel, etc. To get actual market price or excellent price and work from there. These dealers aren't a Saturn dealership or the grocery store, so negotiating should be expected. A reasonable offer on your part versus low balling will/should make the dealer highly consider it...however, if demand is high, like it is on the telluride, asking MSRP or a bit over is not unheard of. Worst case is paying MSRP, never over, but your target should be below MSRP. Also try to negotiate on accessories or packages...happy hunting

All of the packaging goodness and same platform/powertrain of the Telluride, combined with an arguably better designed and more user friendly interior design. Love it so far after 30K miles.
That's because they're so popular... But to be fair they have standard features
@@wbwayne8887 I like the Palisade too and actually prefer the features of the top trim over the Telluride SX. The only think I don't like about it is the grille design.
@@CMUBruin
I agree about the grille, however I like the unique DRL light signature of the Palisade. I'm honestly not crazy about the front design of the Telluride either though. If anything, I like the white LED DRLs (lower trim) over the amber ones, however nothing stands out more than the amber.
@@coolyjavon591 Yes, I know why they are charging more than MSRP (hence why I referred to "market adjustment"). And you do realize you aren't saying anything right? EVERY car has standard features. But maybe you mean more standard features.
The design teams for both SUVs did an amazing job.
Loving my Pathfinder 2022. I traded the 2019 Pathfinder for the SL 2022, and I must say, even though I currently work from home, I find myself always wanna go for a drive lol.... You really need to get used to the Driver Assist features and you would love it, especially the stop and go traffic with combined Navilink. This thing would slow the speed for you in corners, now that's amazing.
I have a 2019 PF! I'm debating between the PF, Palisade, & Telluride.
I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 224,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Same with our 06 Sentra 2.0s.

How is your AC working..? Do u live where it gets Hotter then 90 degrees..?
FYI:
I test drove a 2022 Pathfinder SL 4WD here in Central Texas where it was 100 degrees on 7.29.21.. the reason I wanted to test drive one was to see how the AC worked because I saw a few reviews that said the AC didn't get cold enough...and they were RIGHT...The AC did NOT get cold enough IN THE 100 degree weather ..
I had the AC set to recycle the air from the inside air with AC button pressed and had it set to the lowest setting which was 60 degrees and the air did not feel crisp enough and would get warmer when u slowed down ,I also un pressed the AC button and that did not help..I own a 2015 Pathfinder SV and the air gets colder in it when I have it set to 70 degrees with the air being recycle from the inside air and the AC button is not pressed..Needless to say I was disappointed..matter of fact we help my mother in law buy a Nissan 2021 Kick last week and the AC gets colder then the New 2022 Pathfinder..Nissan please fix...Here in Texas if the AC isn't cold enough then nothing else matters with all the other new features...I definitely recommend testing one out on a HOT day before buying one..

So I'm guessing by PC, you were going to comment about Korean vs Japanese car makers? If so, IMO, neither are Japanese cars what they used to be (not as good - we've always owned at least one since the mid 80s) nor are Korean cars (better now - son drives a 2020 Kia). That said, if features, specs and price were equal, I still prefer Japanese cars, feel they are better made.
Better ride quality in pathfinder for sure. Telluride looks better in videos but pathfinder especially two tone pearl white looks better. Especially if you black out v motion rims.

@ClassicFIHD mine has 240 miles on it and I'll put another 150 tomorrow when I drive back home. I'm enjoying it too. Enjoy yours, my fellow pathfinder owner
Pathfinder Rock Creek vs Pathfinder base SL
In my opinion the Rock Creek is the best looking Pathfinder model.
Our new pathfinder goes in for the spray on undercoating. Will also help dampen road noise which is very limited to begin with.
Good effort from Nissan, but Telluride definite winner for me. No clue why Kia hasn’t put a hybrid or plug in hybrid in the Carnival or Telluride though
They might! The refresh is right around the corner
I believe it's on the way. Kia might give the Telluride the Santa Fe treatment for the refresh.
@@JT-fq2bl I think Hyundai would not let Kia take their Santa Fe front design for the Teluride? They might do it to the Palisade however

Every dealership is struggling to keep cars in right now guys, it's called a chip shortage.
For those three row mid-size SUVs, I'd like they can have a three seat second row, after all the third row is for children or small sized adults, so if you have five people on the trip one person has to sit in the third row, so the experience will be worse than sitting in the second row of a compact SUV.

Two best looking three row SUVs. Great job Nissan. The Grand Cherokee L is so bad compared to these. Pilot and Highlander need be redesigned to compete with these two.
The Grand Cherokee does not compare to these grocery getters...
I love all the equally.. Will come down to price
The Telluride need improvements despite being so popular. Can’t wait for them to actually go for sticker. The Pathfinder is actually a better deal.
I agree
Just bought a pathfinder the first time I started looking for this, while I went to two kia dealerships and walk right out after the outrageous markups. Glad I bought my pathfinder. The rear taillights look beautiful than the Telluride
Nice to see competition for the Telluride, and well done, Nissan, but yeah, I'll take the KIA.
Telluride, not even a question for me.
Both Nissan & Kia are very good vehicles. The dealership selling the vehicles will determine the best deal. Who will want the most over MRSP?
Telluride interior and exterior just look so much better.

As much as I'm a fan, outside of those 2 things, kia is whoopin everyone's asses when it comes to features. They have an intercom for the driver to speak to the passengers so that everyone can hear each other better. AN INTERCOM... And have y'all seen the dash in a telluride?!
Nissan usually pits itself against Toyota but they may have a new war against Kia to take more seriously over Toyota
Always Telluride 🥰😍🤩😚☺🤪
How’s the audio system ?

Yeah, I’d get the Pathfinder, too
The telluride is a clear winner no one has dethroned and it yet, but let’s also remember the Honda Pilot is getting a new body for 2023 and the pilot is the blue print for the telluride.
How is it a "clear winner"?
Kia has longer warranty than all manufacturers but noticed, you rarely see an old model Kia on the road. After a while folks ditch their Kia
And the Kia is $10k over sticker.
I read that only the premium packages and the Platinum gets the 6000lbs capacity
@@jaehocho9718 yes, that's true, I bought the sv with premium pkg and it has 6,000 lb tow. But the question is why, cause it has the same engine and transmission as the s model?

The Pathfinder is all new? No. It's the same platform as the previous model with a different transmission (no CVT) and improved looks with upgraded mechanicals. It's not all new.
Then why called it redesign instead of refresh?
As with all other Nissan vehicles, the Pathfinder will have better availability and discounts than Kia. Nissan is a big mass production company and they cut prices like crazy, I've seen crazy low offers on the Murano, Altima and Sentra cars. Kia and Hyundai have been very greedy when it comes to negotiating prices, very low stock for both Palisade and Telluride. I don't see too many Telluride/Palisades on the streets here in NJ, not sure why but I think it will be much easier and affordable to get a Pathfinder down the road(maybe first year it will be expensive though).
Which one should I buy
2022 Nissan pathfinder platinum, 2022 hyundai palisade calligraphy or 2022 Kia telluride sx?
Focus on reliability. In my opinion: If you lease, reliability doesnt matter. If you buy, Nissan is more reliable than those Korean Cars.
After owning a Hyundai for 6 years, I would never buy another one. Apparently the guys Who work on them don’t have to have any degrees, they can just walk in and take a test and if they pass they’re a Hyundai technician. ...negotiate? Use sites like Edmunds or car gurus or autobytel, etc. To get actual market price or excellent price and work from there. These dealers aren't a Saturn dealership or the grocery store, so negotiating should be expected. A reasonable offer on your part versus low balling will/should make the dealer highly consider it...however, if demand is high, like it is on the telluride, asking MSRP or a bit over is not unheard of.
