By far the MOST honest review about Launchpads.. Thanx John, You're an amazing person.
Some people are great entertainers and that makes learning more fun - but in your case - you are the first person I have seen that seems 100 percent formal in your presentation - which normally translates to "boring" - BUT NOT IN YOUR CASE!!! Your presentation is very appealling because it is easy to understand your voice and the specific logic of your presentation is far more focused that other experts. I was really impressed and I find your approach to have no impertinent or distracting elements. WELL DONE!!! So far - despite how much I love humor - and there are a few others that really bring humor into their presentations - your content is so extremely focused and simple to understand - I give you an "A+" for teaching ability. Wow! Again - great job!

Nice, informative video ! I'd just like to note that if you're on a budget, you can just get the mini and another cheap midi controller, to which you can bind functions, like "record", "duplicate", etc.

Hello John, your video presentation is excellent. You are clear, succinct and concise. The harmonics in your voice are easy on my ears. Quick question, being a total beginner but with plenty of enthusiasm and a small budget, would it be ok for me to try and learn with the original Launchpad? They are now quite inexpensive second hand, as opposed to a Launchpad Pro.

Nice video very useful. Wich one would you choose between the Novation Launchpad MKII and the Akai Mini APC?. The arm buttons and the faders are a plus for the Akai in my opinion.
I have the Ableton MKll , and I love it, I recommend it completely .

Nice vid. Some may be interested to know all three of these are generic midi controllers that can be custom mapped to any DAW or soft instrument that supports MIDI mapping in Mac, Windows, iOS or Android. Cheers.

I want to get into making my own music because I'm always coming up with different little beats in my head and I want to put them together and make them into a chill song I can just relax to. So if I get the mk2 would I be able to use digital instruments or would I need the pro to do that?

Hey Jake, great question! The answer is that you don't even need a Launchpad to do this, you can draw notes in with a mouse, but you can also do it with any Launchpad, even the Mini.

Alot of people always ask me this question, I will make sure to send them to this video. But honestly for a beginner, I would get a launchpad s, or a Launchpad classic. novation doesn't make them any more, so I would get them used. you can get them as low as $20 USD. great video!
