RBR is the Assetto Corsa of Rally games. I've bought all new driving titles, WRC, Dirt Rally 2 (which is pretty good), iRacing, Automobilista2, all Codemasters F1 games, you name it... tried 'em all... but I always come back to RBR and Assetto Corsa. They are the "golden standards" of driving games. I'm happy that this great classic gets the recognition it deserves.
If you want another game on that level (or even above some on my opinion) try out NASCAR racing 2003! It’s so amazing and the AI is absolutely unbelievable! It feels like racing real people and you wonder how they did that in 2003 and why nobody else ever did it again.
@@rolux4853Its mostly NASCAR based, with car-mods from almost every generation of stock car, and paint schemes from every race and year, but there are also sprint - indycar mods, its a very good game and can have good graphics with mods
Try out beamng you might like it too. Can't say it is nowhere near as polished as those two, but is still very fun, even though it isn't very user friendly, trying to figure some things out.
in case you or anybody doesn't know: if you press enter in car or stage select, it opens a sub menu with options like coutry, road surface, type of car, etc
Thanks a lot for the headsup on this. I have Dirt Rally 2 but have never used it much as it just didn't feel right somehow. I had some spare time (at age 78 nearly all my time is spare 🤣) and decided to install RBR and give it a try. It took me a while to get it working with all my bits and pieces (Moza R5 wheel, NLR Platform, Shakers and HP Reverb G2) but well worth the effort. I can see why so many people think it is the best rally title. Almost unbelievable how these guys have got it to this stage (pun intended). The only thing I haven't yet found a way to do is to map the controls, especially VR controls, to my wheel or to the Logitech F710 that I have connected to my PC as I find using the keyboard in VR a bit of a pain. The VR is really excellent, no problem with FPS on my 2080, i9 PC.
@@videogmaeman I have used JoyToKey to map the VR keyboard keys along with Enter and ESC keys, plus VR view recentre key, to a controller that I have mounted by my right hand. So everything is just about perfect now on my simracing setup😀I have also installed RBR on an old PC with a GTX 1060, a big old TV, and an old Logitech wheel, that is almost as old as RBR, and the graphics performance on that is amazing so I have an alternate setup to use just for NON-VR using old gear that was literally lying useless and not worth selling in a cupboard. Double thanks to RBR and SirPat 👍👏🙂
Hey, I just downloaded the "rsf_installer_files" from a torrent since I can't download the install directly from the website, I'm not quite sure what to do now
Gave up on it after it was problem after problem such as the way too complicated menus with unexplained options, the lack of just showing only installed tracks, the hour it took to figure out how to fix the throttle/brake being linked which now seems to have broken the automatic gears not working anymore and the cars selection being blank if wanting to play the original regular game.
How can I make RBR ignore my Xbox controller. The reason why is because when it’s plugged in it takes priority over my wheel (which isn’t Xinput) and resets the controls on my wheel.
Hi! I just got this mod for VR, but it runs like dogshit. I have a beefy computer, and both GPU and GPU utilization is around 20-30% and I'm getting 35 fps. I need 90 FPS for a smooth experive in the Reverb G2 like all other games. Any solution? I've tried lowering resolution etc but nothing makes any difference.
Anyone else have a problem getting their wheel to work?? Sometimes it's all mapped other times it just won't work, really find it frustrating it has ruined the game for me. Logitech g923, tried setting rotation to 180° tried everything I've heard to do. Near at uninstall forever and back to dirt series.
@sirspatsracing its cool got it sorted just have to restart computer before starting rbr, it's bizarre but works everytime. If you play even one other game of say assetto corsa you need to restart but its fine if you just jump straight into rbr don't know why it does it but figured it out.
My power went out during the install. I got the game running fine but im missing tons of tracks. I re ran the installer and clicked all maps but im still missing tons. Not sure what to do.
Wow includes the base game for free. I may have to try this when I have the time. Thx for the post! Quote off the link. "The installer includes the Richard Burns Rally base game, all supported tracks and DirectX 9.0c. "
I tried to install on my drive, but the maps would not load, no launcher, but I have downloaded the base game from your other rbr link, can I just update all the maps and stuff in to that, how could I do it, thanks
I hit the Enter button and nothing happens. Is anyone else having this issue? The game has been installed successfully, I navigate in the menu and change settings with no problem. But pressing the Enter button to start a race, rally school, hot lap, whatever, nothing really happens. I´m going crazy with this. Have I missed something?
wtf how its a 20 year old game? Are you serious? I'm torrenting the installer files right now and its only 26gb is it really gonna go that high when it installs?

Hey, I know RBR is a little clunky with controllers. I would jump onto the forums to see how people get around it
