"the attendant button goes to the kitchen, which annoys my wife a lot". Genius :D
Lmao..
I'm wondering more how the fuck he's still married after doing this.
@@SamiiYou Lol love is a wild thing.
lol :D
@@SamiiYou I'm baffled. God bless both of them.
lots of work, looks awesome! Now all u need to do is connect the wing to your house and ready for take off.

That's a funny

@@nealehargreaves3439 hello neale where to buy flight simulators? and how much is it? greetings from aldo in Italy
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Given the nature of your accomplishment, I'm sure that I'm not the first airline pilot to leave a comment here but I stumbled upon your video and watched the whole thing. I am truly impressed by your enthusiasm, skill, and attention to detail. As it happens, I'm a Captain on the CRJ, for a regional airline here in the States but I do hold a type rating on the B737. Just based on this limited observation (...and my limited memory), I can say that you have obviously represented the airplane very, very well. It truly looks remarkable and as you say in the UK, it's "spot on"! :)
Wow, so very many thanks for your comments and very valuable opinion. I must admit, the simulator started as a single console bit of fun but seems to have grown into a bit of a monster! I suppose the attention to detail comes from many years involved in flight test in the military, and I'm so pleased you commented as you did. Anytime you are in the UK I would welcome your comments on the flight model if you get a chance to pop in and fly it. Kind regards, Neale
The ultimate mancave-and being a dutchman, thank you for flying KLM
Thank you sir, I also really enjoy flying KLM the attitude of the flight crew is so relaxed yet professional. Kind regards, Neale
Neale Hargreaves
Have you ever been in a real 737 cockpit?
"I won't be happy when I'm done because I won't have anything to do on a rainy day" HOW BOUT FLY'N IN IT!?!
Well, I have to say that I agree, but the point that he is probably not a guy who loves planes that much. He obviously does since he BUILT one but he is mostly in the "Plane engineer enthusiasts" side or he just loves cutting dead trees. :/ Sorry for my bed england
Pug' Maw bed England? HAHAHAHA
@@PuineaGip don't be sorry about your bed. It's okay.

Dude just imagine, sitting in that sim with your friend who helped building it. Having a beer and participating the VATsim worldflight week, 24/7 flying with full ATC, you and your best friend in a cockpit that the two of you have been created with your very own hands. Must be so cool.
Vince 'Out of Touch' McMahon - We do use VATSIM. I'll post a video soon! Regards, Neale
Vince 'Out of Touch' McMahon Is it really though?
Excuse me Sir, i dont understand. "Is it really though?" ?? ..did you mean "tough" ?
@@rainerziehtkatapultenachgo9001 I think he meant "is it really though?" As in cool, but if he doesn't think this is cool idk what is hahaha
Was macht ein Haider hier?
Hi all, as I get asked this question over and over again, the total cost of the sim so far has been around UK £8k. It sounds a lot, but this build has taken about 3 years so far. Regards, Neale
Do you have some basic plans for it? Would love to re build this myself
Neale Hargreaves if it makes you happy go for it money is just money great setup. I go crazy with my hobby but I'd be miserable without it
Neale Hargreaves that means a Airbus a380 costs UK £11k
And a Boeing 747 costs UK £9 1/2K
Neale Hargreaves ok
so a quarter of one cost 8k... great..
Haha! The bing-bong that sounds in the kitchen is very funny.
Agreed, it's hilarious!
Luca C I bet some feminist is giving themselves a heart attack somewhere over the "oppression" of the joke.
That fucking tickled me XD
Dubstep_lover XDDDDDD
Haha, the kitchen is the galley. Wonder if that switch actually starts the tea in the kitchen?
I'm so so jealous but must say well done! The attendant call switch to the kitchen is awesome, lol.
Shane Burrows Thanks Shane. Yes, everybody loves that button.....except of course my dear wife! Cheers, Neale
@@nealehargreaves3439 The button should say 'Make me a sammich'
Funniest thing ever, I'm sure the wife is still very proud he pulled this off. This crazy engineering for a hobby.
Mindblown, as close to the real thing as you can! What a fantastic job you've done! Hats off from Canada!
Wow, thank you! I very much appreciate the comment and support. Glad you enjoyed the video Chris. Kind regards, Neale
It's very inspiring seeing your simulator and the all the work you have put into it. I have a lot of respect for you to have done so much DIY work instead of buying plug and play units.
Neale, just found your site by accident and delighted I have. I take my hat off to you for the work you have been putting into your sim. You have actually made my Sunday complete! lol. Thanks very much for the video.
You should start a business making these! Or sell DIY kits. Absolutely brilliantly made!
Hi, many thanks for watching and the great comment. I loved building this even though it was frustrating at times...the problem is you never seem to finish - right now I'm fitting a lower display monitor and outside world side monitors, so still quite a bit to do! But great fun! Regards, Neale
That is insane I wish I had that. I am subscribing because clearly you love youtube to put this much work into a project. this is just insane
Absolutely blown away 🤩 Love all the care and on a budget. Thank you for sharing 👍
Awesome. Very impressive. I was a simulator engineer for Redifon and Thomson-CSF and have done interfacing and systems simulation (programming) and have a good understanding of what was involved. I am so impressed with all the ingenuity and hard work that must have gone into it. Stunning. Congratulations!
Hi Rob, very many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment so positively. Yes, many hours spent getting it just right and some frustrating times, but well worth it now! So pleased you enjoyed the video and understand the challenges doing this kind of thing. Take care, Neale
6:44 A here you see why i will never have something like this. Respect for all this work you done there. Really impressiv
Well the next thing, just to enable that little bit more atmosphere, is to enclose the area of the cockpit, and install a cockpit door, made to look as authentic as possible. That would then help to isolate the senses and concentrate the effect of the simulation environment. I think you have done a brilliant job! I might have used multiway connectors for the I/O cards to make removal for repairs simpler, but hopefully that should not be necessary much anyway. Excellent!
Wow, wait a minute. I just recently got a flight stick and I was chuffed with myself.
This must be max level stuff.
Thanks for sharing. Love it.
Incredibly impressive build! You and this video are one of the reasons I am facing a similar build myself.
Continue to share more videos with us, on the sim but also more flights. Keep up the good work!
Wow that’s an amazing set up!!
I am gonna do this when I'm older!! I am also going to have a table to come out for snacks etc. I have blueprints and extra plans ready!!!
Gold Coast Airport Spotting lol 1 unsalted peanut lol
keep your lap table up during take off and landing!!!
Fantastic work Neale. I was impressed throughout the vid, but the attendant call button wired to the kitchen impressed me the most. #bravery!
Awesome, it's a different level of workmanship and I must admit from scratch, you built an excellent cockpit... well done!!!
If I included an attendant call to the kitchen, my wife would turn up and throw a cup of water at me blaming turbulence :-) .... great project Neale.
"The attendant call goes off and will bing bong in the kitchen." I laughed so hard.
Thanks mate, made my day. Your setup is pretty impressive.
Regards
Hi, many thanks for watching and the great comment. Yes, my wife gets pretty annoyed when we call for drinks! It's great fun and I'm so pleased I built the sim! Regards, Neale
The door at the beginning of the video is so very, VERY deceiving. Never in a million years would one assume, just by looking at it, that it leads straight to aviator heaven.
I realize that tons of work, effort, and thought went into the building of this gorgeous apparatus (and little, if any, luck was involved at all), but I still say you are the luckiest dawg I've seen in quite some time, sir.
Live it up, and fly the world over for those of us that are perma-stuck on terra firma.
All BS aside, yours is about THE most enviable flight sim setup I've ever seen. Soooo very nice!
Keeping the wiring neatly run and looking nice is the mark of a professional. Some folks do it because it just looks nice. But having run wiring for pay in the past, I can attest that sloppy, loose runs are a quick way to get yelled at. And unlabeled runs are the quickest way to a pink slip.
quazzie1 Thank you sir. so very kind. I agree that I am very fortunate. Many thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment. kind regards, Neale
I enjoyed watching all those wires assembled at background.. Those are things that proved your unwavering passion in aviation.. Great work mate
Glad you enjoyed it! Many thanks, Neale
KLM airline is one of the best out there if bot the best, i use to fly alot because of my work. Atleast 4 times in a month but i flew to Amsterdam later on to Madrid with KLM and they had the best service i ever seen. All airlines i have fly is good but KLM was on a another level. Helpful going extra mile for making a costumer had it great. Thats just my experience.
The deadliest accident in airline history was caused by an impatient KLM pilot. Tenerife Airport 1977. 583 people died. Just saying.
I mean, its good i guess, but its nothing compared to airlines from the middle east
@3:10s....that shelf is Boeing 😂
Sorry couldn’t resist.
All jokes aside, that is a fantastic setup.
very good 😂
Neale, what an incredible job you have done with this. Kudos!
Incredible. Congratulations. Clearly a lot of hard work went into this - amazing.
Hi, thanks for your interest. I use the iFly737 cockpit builders edition add on for FSX. The forum is fantastic and you get all the help necessary to build your cockpit. They also have a programme called iflytofsuipc which really makes interfacing to electronic switch and light boards simple, even if you've never done anything like this before. If you need any help just let me know. Neale
+Neale Hargreaves Hey im looking into building something like this in the next 6 years. How long does it take to build one on average(Yours) and how much does one spend to get it looking like yours?
+david Blash hi, I have spent around £8000 UK on this project over 4 years. The hardest part is all the hours and hours of soldering, wiring and software tuning. It is a wonderful piece of equipment once you've built it and a fantastic thing to have! Good luck building yours!
+Neale Hargreaves does this have a auto pilot?
+Carl Johnson CJ - yes of course. The autopilot is known as the Main Control Panel or MCP. it is located right in front of the two pilots. Thanks for watching
Neale
+Neale Hargreaves ok
I wonder if there's option just to buy something like that, everything included, go and buy and assemble in your home following the instructions. Really I want something like this in my house, but I don't want it turn into life long project, I just don't have time for it, because I also want truck cockpit, F1 formula etc. I just can't build all of them myself :D, I don't have time, but I do have money instead. Any suggestions?
Hi, yes, you can buy the consoles ready built from a number of places online - one of them is www.opencockpits.com where I know the quality is good, also www.fsc.com. If you do a quick Google search for it there are lots of options, regards, Neale
Ha, I’m the exact opposite, I’ve got lots of time but not nearly enough money, lucky guy to be able to afford something like this.
@@eliasschanz6659 He's probably not lucky, I presume he worked hard at a job, he might still work.
Average Football Fan yep probably true, Mainly meant the guy who commented though, lucky guy to be able to buy this and f1 cockpit and a truck cockpit
It never ceases to amaze me how innovative some individuals are? Great job, man!!!!!!
My brother's trying to build one of these. It looks like a doghouse. lol 😂
What a great system, I can fully appreciate the work and dedication that was required to bring the simulator to this stage, Bravo in every sense and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful project with us all. You’re a lucky bloke though having such an understanding wife! Look forward to future videos with you both flying her and of course ones detailing the finished project! best regards from Adrian in sunny Bermuda!!
LOL I love it how it sends a sound back to your actual kitchen.. made me laugh when you said that haha nice set up
WOW! Well done.
I got so excited about this video I went and made my wife look at it. I would like to share HER comment.
"Do you want a divorce?"
ha ha, fly safe.
Great comment!! Thanks for looking and commenting. My wife said the same thing but never carried out her threat......I will be posting a new video of the sim flying next week which I hope you will enjoy. Regards, Neale
Bro you are a legend. I don’t know how your channel isn’t gold. You went from video games to airline pilot. I love you
Hello sir. Many thanks for the great comment and watching the video, I really appreciate your support. Kind regards, Neale
Impressive setup. And Alfa Romeo seats are so easy to recognize!!

Great stuff. Pure commitment. Love the bing bong for the wife in the Kitchen. Hope she got one in reverse so she can ping you when dinner is ready!! Look forward to see more videos of the progress/improvements.
Thanks Gerry for the comment. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video. More to follow, hopefully soon when my wife lets me get back in the sim! Cheers, Neale
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!!! Nice job! No words to describe how badass this is.
Brilliant video, just how reliable is the attendant call button? Does it deliver coffee of a black eye?
steve man Hi, thanks for watching - depends what mood she is in! I don't use the button too much! Thanks for watching, regards, Neale
steve man or both at the same time hahahaha. but its still an awesome feature even if not used often
Your work is really inspirational! I've wanted to make my own flight sim at home for a long time now, but never really got the gumption to do it. Maybe now I will!
Valkyrie612 Hi, I can thoroughly recommend it a s a hobby which will keep you busy for all time! It's fabulous when people have had a little bit to drink and want to attempt a landing! Great thing to own for evening BBQs as after dinner entertainment....thanks for watching, regards, Neale
UAU. What a simulator!!! Many congratulations and happy flights.
Wow - I'm impressed. I'm a retired engineer who is digging up all the hobbies I didn't have time or money for in the past. I've never seen so much loving attention poured into a simulator project, but it reminds me of the model railroad setups in the 50s and 60s. Congratulations, and keep up the good work. I'm envious.
Guess there was no budget left for the camera lol
on open cockpits, the full sim is around 25k, how is yours 8k?? could you put links to everthing in the description?
I really enjoyed watching your video. Great attention to detail, excellent commentary.
Hi Steven, thank you for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed the video, kind regards, Neale
so cool to see that you have kept building it over the 3 years , your sim is amazing even tho im not a flightsim guy i still respect the engineering ,
And for 10$ more you can have the real thing!
Is there a flux capacitor installed?
I hope you don't crash,... It would be a shame to ruin all that work. ha ha ha
Good job, looks great!

Really nice walk around. I'm fixing my old van up like a plane on the inside with switches and panels so actually seeing your sim layout, leds, and power supply systems really expands on things. Excellent build. The cameras footage is a little wobbly though not sure if thats from video compression or just how the cam works.

I hope I am never on a flight where the air hostess runs white-faced back down the aisle pleading 'Is there a doctor on board?' and nobody answers. But if it happens, I want the lucky happenstance that Neal Hargreaves is on the flight and stands up to announce 'I'm not a doctor, but I could fly the plane.' That Sim is incredible.
