Okay, fine. I’ll write the book. I loved these tips and the tough love, I really needed it. I have been working on the outline for my novel and your tip about only outlining five chapters at a time and then writing those chapters made a whole lot of sense and I don’t know why I didn’t think about it before. So I am going to start doing that!

Love your advice! I have such a hard time figuring out the midpoint and final climax :( its always concept and parts of the beginning and possibilities and then i get stuck but its good to have some checkpoints in mind

Thank you, gosh. I get so stuck on making everything perfect, having everything figured out before I move on, etc. that I can honestly go days without writing and then I feel just awful about it. I'm like omg I'm going to die and never finish this thing. Now I will just go ham and make sure I have a draft and then fix everything later.

I feel attacked 😂 I've been writing for so so so many years, and never finished a manuscript!
However this time I ploughed through and finished the first draft of my first romance novel in 6 months! Currently editing the second draft and it's definitely hard -but I will not give up 🎉

edit: however, i do think my biggest issue is that im writing a book that will eventually involve time travel, and i know there's stuff that happens in this book that has to tie in later, so that's definitely been holding me back. but i will say, discovering writing some chapters has helped a lot! just those fine details that are hard to

I am a over researcher... but i have been scared to write a book for years even tho I have so so so many stories I have come up with, I have made extensive notes with all the stories I have come up with
In my bed side drawerI have Paperwork for at least 10 to 20 stories Haha 😄
Tip 8 is an interesting one I hadn't thought of due to not being a pantser, but it could benefit me on the next project (a low-budget TV miniseries) to make the scripting and outlining simultaneous. This way the question "does the plot read clearly when you try to sum it up?" will have an answer for each episode drafted.

These tips could've helped when I started this godforsaken draft back in 2022 😭 And I totally agree with outlining the book AFTER you've gotten a few scenes in 🫶🏽 Okay, fine, I'll write the book (but ONLY because I'm 2 scenes away from The End 🎉)
