WOW, my head is spinning with all these technologies and l am learning as much as l can before l buy. l live where there's no place to go try out these shafts etc so l rely on folks like you. Great review from a fellow Sydney-sider, and especially informative regarding standardisation (or lack of) across different manufacturers, I play and really like the Modus 120 S which you correctly state is 114g. Just a bit of insight into how Nippon quotes their shaft weights for this specific model.... the Modus 120 comes in Reg, Stiff, X Stiff, and Tour Stiff. Each of the shafts varying in weight, so Nippon chooses to name the shaft (at least in the Modus 120 range) after the specs of the X Stiff shaft i.e. their baseline for the Modus 120 is the X Stiff shaft. In this instance, the Modus 120 X Stiff is in fact 120g. They sometimes follow, but often deviate from this with other models which reinforces your general observation of no consistency re: standardisation. Anyway great review and look forward to viewing your future reviews!

I have mentioned a little about my iron shafts in previous “what’s in the bag” and “fujikura pro vs c taper” videos. I could definitely do another run down of the graphite shafts that I use. I mostly changed because they are more forgiving, feel better and I didn’t lose anything performance wise.
Curious, in the beginning of the video you said you do not know what a mid launch shaft really is and then partway through you say 75 feet peak height is mid launch?
Hi Trevor. It’s a flightscope X2. I really like the setup too, but I have recently improved it so I can freely swing a driver. There’s not quite enough room for drivers in the setup in this video. Thanks.
Currently play kbs but had the opportunity to hit a good amount of shots with the modus paired up with same head as my irons and have to say I enjoyed the feel of modus a lot.

@@BuffaloBarber24 I have the Modus 120S in my ZX7’s. They feel good for sure, but I’d say they feel softer than a stiff flex shaft. They for sure feel softer than the s300’s I had in my 712CB’s. I am switching out of them now though, with the swing changes I’ve made they feel too light and whippy now. Ended up in the PX LZ 6.5’s.
Hello, I play the Modus 120 Stiff. I've developed some tendonitis in my right elbow and am considering moving to graphite. Its hard to find many shaft options to try out so it feels a bit like shooting in the dark. Can you recommend any graphite shafts that are similar in feel to the Modus? I don't really care for light weight shafts and so was looking at some of the heavier graphite options like the Fujikura Pro 115, the MMT 125, Steelfiber 115 and the KBS TGI 110. Can you share any insight on any of these shafts regarding feel and performance compared to the Modus 120? Thank you.
It’s very hard to go passed the fujikura pro 115. Tgi and steelfiber tend to play a little stronger for their weight/flex and I don’t have any experience with MMT. I have been playing the pro for about 5 years and I can’t see myself going back to steel.

I’ve watched a few reviews of this modus 120 shaft today, and each review has had this anomalous tight dispersion in distance. My guess is the soft midsection somehow produces a more consistent speed through contact compared to softer tip sections, but idk… 🤷🏻♂️ Anyone out there got any feedback on that?
For sure, i just thought the uniqueness of the bend profile of this shaft might have something to do with it. I play dynamic gold’s, arguably the best shaft, and love the feel of the consistent bend profile, but i can get a decently wide spread variation in my distance control. Just wondered if anyone had any specific info surrounding this.
Awesome as I got fit for $ taper lite but Wilson can’t supply and settled for the dynamic s300 and I really don’t like them at all hence why I sent you a message on another social source but I just can’t decide what I want

Nippon makes really good wedge shafts to go with the modus. 125, 115 and 105 are offered.
