Hasn't changed in 30 years. Snow made there in 1993 before snowboarding was allowed on hill. Lived at mid station and worked top of resort during nights, often sleeping up top. Sneaky laps at sun rise, before the resort was open was the go. Keep living the dream.
Thanks for watching Deane. Very few foreigners on the hill during those days. The Tsugaike village hasn't really changed much except for a huge bridge from Ochikura. You would notice a difference in the Hakuba area thou. Sunrise laps would have been sweet.
We are coming to Hakuba on the 12th April with kids. Can you please suggest beginners friendly ski resort and would you have any recommendations for beginners friendly ski lessons. Thank you!
Top of the 47 gondola area is probably the best spot for beginners at this time of year. Go with Hakuba Snowsports for your lessons. www.hakubasnowsports.com/
Amazing Tsugaike ,I ‘m planning to go to Hakuba during Christmas 2024 ,How is the snow condition in that early opening winter season in Tsugaike? Because I ‘m a beginner skier so I ‘m worried about the snow quality.
Thanks for watching Gareth. Just noticed it is still in 360p. It should look better in a few hours when the 4k kicks in. Maybe see you on the weekend :)
Thanks for watching Baz. Our general storm cycle is a big one will come through over a few days then 1 or 2 clear days before the next cycle. No promises though :) Jump onto my Hakuba FB page and give it a like & follow for daily reports on the best choice to slide each day facebook.com/hakuba1
@@TJinHakuba btw your fb page was great. Loved the way I could just scroll down to the same dates for my trip and see the weather from last year. Bravo sir 👏👏
Thanks for subscribing, bean. This is what I wrote in the bio. "Can I recommend coming here in spring? Well, it’s better than sitting in an office or slogging away on a jobsite. Weekends are busy with the locals loving everything about it. At this time of year everyone is at peak performance with a whole winter under their belt" There will be snow here to ski on and enjoy. Don't expect fresh snow but it can happen. I hope you get here.

As a beginner you will have an amazing time. Christmas always has snow here.
Aaaah dude what I would give to go back to Tsugaike! Did a working holiday there in 2018/2019 season and it was a blast lol
Thanks for watching, Wings. Tsugaike really ticks all the boxes as you would know. Doing a full season there would have revealed many of the secrets.
Looks amazing out there. The time lapse footage is cool for sure. Hope to follow your advice and get to HAKUBA this weekend. Thank you and cheers.

Thanks for watching Ronaldo. Yep that's April. There will be 2+ meters on top of that base with plenty of pow for you :)
Just curious, why you think a beenie is a better option to a helmet?
Just a personal preference.
Is this common for april? Im going next year around this time frame.
