i built this last year and did get the deluxe version. i used most of the metal parts, mainly in the lower body, which gave it a very hefty and sturdy base. Yet when i used the parts in the arms, i felt they were too tight and might have sheered the pegs off, so i used the plastic ones instead. I CAN'T be the only one jealous of Mechas' long flowing locks. I wake up in the morning and birds have nested overnight! Also, good vid. Love me some mechs that really stand out!
i love this kit to bits and is my very first foray into Infinite Dimension/In Era model kits and one thing i can say, the Genesis fits side by side with the Eclipse Gundam, almost looking like a sister unit especially in transformed mode
3rd party kits were always give more (full decals, more accessories, sometimes, metal inner frame) for much much less price. The only drawbacks were the quality of the plastics and snap fits. However these days, they are catching up, they are getting much better these days, it's now worth considering.
All of those details came with drawbacks, mainly the loose part issues. Sometimes they goes too overboard with the design that it's inevitable for them to have loose parts. Sometimes I wish for a decently detailed kid but with bandai level of structural integrity. Nothing too fancy like this, but as sturdy as the recent RG kits.
Great review thanks for reviewing third party kits, for a future review you should review the thunderbolt, it’s a much more solid build I have one myself and I love it.
In Era is definitely killing it with their 1/100 designs. Got every single 1/100 release since Genesis came out. Currently waiting for their 1/100 Lizard which is a Sazabi inspired suit of theirs
The all plastic build funnily enough is much tighter than the deluxe version. I've seen some chinese reviewers use some kind of white liquid glue? Like what's used to tighten metal build figure joints. If you want to help the genesis stay strong for long get to 2usd DSPIAE joint strengthener pen which works wonders
My list goes for this Einta - Sky def and weapon trident Nilson - Monument Repair In era - Lizard, Aurora is good too Snaa - Blue flame Vtiger - HiNu Motor nuclear - grunt units Wei yun white and the camo one.. the main ms were better but its spiky asf Ventiene - Apocalypse Solomon - Physalis Hemoxian - Thor, Tastier is better and the upcoming lone shadow.. but i like thor its such a big ass kit The list goes on actually since lots of 3rd party were popping off lately.. and its a plus for me since i like mg size kits and the fact that this kits were easy to get since i was living in asian country, they were also cheap if comparing price for like bandai kits, kotobukiya etc
Mine suffered a bit of early rg syndrome due to the metal parts. Had it up on my shelf, untouched for months, go to dust it and the legs flop down. Needed to use joint fixer to tighten everything. Note: The hazy look of the clear insert is a protective film on each side, once peeled it's crystal clear.
I am very tempted for a long time to buy these Chinese kits, but i prefer collecting something that i get inspired from Animated or manga theme, which give me remeberable memories of the comic or show.
If you want a cheap build MOTOR NUCLEAR MNP-XH07 WEI YUAN BLADE FIGHT Is what I recommend The build is heavy and has metal parts Solid and very posable
I have build the third party stargazer and the GP02, both came out last year, they were very intricate and the quality of the plastic was very good, the gimmicks of the GP02 would be considered MGEX level with a HG price, I would love to keep building only bandai kits but those 3rd parties are actually giving us model kits and gundam fans builds that we have looking forward to for years, I really hope they do the rest of the GP units as well as some 08th MS team and the blue destiny kits
I got the 3rd party Hemoxian Tastier. It has an action base that converts into a parts storage or a weapon display. a robot dog. Waterslide decals, LED eyes, Photo etch parts and effect parts. also an emblem sticker, a cardboard background and a thank you card. for a price similar to a Bandai MG. edit: and a wired cloth cape.
@@Demiurge13 yeah, they're not going for giant robot for this series. More like AI robots the size of humans as it's 1/10 scale. They also did say there will be multiple head designs to use
You should definitely check out Motor Nuclear's Wei Yuan (either Trainee or Bladefight). They don't have that overly edgy design, they have metal articulation and great detail, with RG pricing on a MG size.
You should try In Era kits next, especially the Thunderbolt and Lizard. If I'm correct they're a collaboration between Infinite Dimension and SNAA (Supernova).
I hope they keep growing and making them more available worldwide. Bandai has been dropping the ball with the lack of stock and availability in places like Europe, and I would understand it if they were not releasing more P Bandai kits than regular market kits (Which you can also only get in France here in Europe). I will gladly buy cool looking generic robots if they are fun to build.
Chinese kits are hit or miss since the overly spiky aesthetic is not for everyone, but the Motor Nuclear kits are definitely worth a look and are my favorite brand of Chinese MG-sized kits. For Gundam types, everyone has already mentioned the Solomon Physalis (basically a 3rd party MGEX GP02), and the Eternal Star Glory (we swear it's not the Stargazer, Bandai)
The genesis is a nice kit. But I would argue that the future of Gunpla via third party kits is the Einta Industries Sky Defender. Stunning kit and beyond anything that's out there Yes, even even beyond PGU grandaddy. You should definitely check it out and have a review.
There's a few more from the same company or their sister company IN Era+ after Genesis, namely Trailblazer, Thunderbolt, Ruling, Aurora, and the recently released Lizard, which is a Sazabi-esque spin off. All great builds
This is the technically the first kit which a collab between Infinite Design and IN Era if i'm not mistaken. Then it became full IN Era design/series with Ruling, Thunderbolt, Aurora, Trailblazer. The newest in line is Lizard which a collab with Real Minute Design. And the first zeon/sleeve-like design instead of typical feddies/goodguys. Ruling and Thunderbolt also got special edition color. Its like their own version of P Bandai i guess.
I have Supreme Evolution Glory which is suppose to be Stargazer Gundam's MG equivalent is one I actually admire! 3rd party kits tends to have more spicky details which I'm not fan those, even they're more stunning than Stargazer, but overall other reasons why I'm more attached to adore Glory is that of there's no bandai to produce potential more mg gundam even in the well known franchise... I'd never see bandai would produce STARGAZER GUNDAM anymore as this is my one of my favorite gundam more than Strike Freedom. .
Just to clarify, Infinite Dimension is also Supernova / In Era+ / SNAA... You've actually reviewed some of their other kits (the Hunt and Kill mech and the Thunder Incise Grace). I do hope you review their other kits since, judging from the reviews that you've made, I'm sure you will enjoy their other kits.
There are a couple of these Chinese kits I am interested in getting (like the one that looks like a suped up GM Sniper and the one with the big halo ring) but one thing I noticed is they all have a similar style. Very Gundam Seed-like with a bunch of stuff hanging off it. As someone who prefers simpler, early UC designs (while still dabbling in more complex designs) I feel like these Chinese companies don't really cater to people like me.
Mecha I recommend trying out the motor nuclear model kits such as the Bai qi and nezha. Motor nuclear makes metal build figures but they also make some model kits based on the metal builds
Good but next you have to try the 3rd party figure based on Basara and Gundam IBO DH-01 based on Masamune date and Gundam Vidar DH-02 based on Yukimura Sanada and Gundam Bael
I bought this last year to customize it into an upgraded Saviour from Seed. The metal frame was underwhelming but great kit! Bandai can suck a fat one, I'll give all my money to 3rd parties if they keep neglecting their 1/100 lines.
The loose joins is a big issue. All of the MG's and similar sized non-Bandai kits I have built have solid joints that last. This one looks like a lot of fun for $90, but I am not sure it is worth it if it can't stand on its own feet. Infinite dimension has a $57 Thunderbolt Manta Ray that is cheap enough to try the brand out early next year.
I apsulutly adore this kit ,plus a inbox stand? Its going on my Wishlist. I can only recommend you the Etwa Industries (or maby a Differential name) Sky Defender, its just as nice is this one
Reposting a comment of mine from your community post yesterday... Top picks (in no particular order): - Solomon Physalis GP02 - Eternal Star Glory (MG Stargazer) - Iron Toys Star Eternal (looks like the Reborns Gundam) - Nilson Works Monument Repair Type (PG Tallgeese) - SNAA Blade King (Exia + Aerial like) - SNAA Aurora (Sinanju + Aegis, but with a Lance) - SNAA Gawain (the next knight after the Thunder Incise Grace) - SNAA Ruling (Calamity + Verde Buster) - SNAA Thunderbolt (Think Strike with the Lightning Striker pack) - Orange Cat Industries Estailev (Blue Sinanju like Mech) - Orange Cat Industries Estailev Cassowary (Red version of the Estailev but with weapons similar to the Gouf Custom) By the way, SNAA, In Era+, Supernova are names for the same company...
I recommend einta sky defender, in era thunderbolt, hemoxian testier and maybe 1/60 monument repairtype. I love 3rd party kit... But the notion that 3rd party kit will replace bandai is a bit nonsense.... Why? Bcoz they themselves (3rd party producers) love gunpla... They exist bcoz they want to explore the area that bandai won't touch... So yeah. But I also like that recent time they make their own original design too. 😊.... Nb: in era Genesis is much much better if u take the standart version (plastic inner frame).
So the funny thing with this kit is the metal parts actually hurt the tightness of the kit. Cus it originally doesn't get designed with metal parts in mind. It's kinda like the studio is being greedy and testing the concept out. On the flip side, in the next kit, which it the Aurora. The metal frame is the best detail metal frame i've ever seen. Shame the oversize part make it a "pedestal kit" only for display and slight posing
I thought Genesis was the worst of the In Era+ line to build due to the metal parts and the part tensions. I had to do a lot of joint sanding. Thunderbolt has so far been the most fun to build. Any of the other ones are so much better.
I've had this kit for a while, and it's one of 2 3rd party gundam-esque kits I have (the other one, coincidentally, being the only other one you reviewed, the judge). While these kits are fantastic, I feel like there's a certain charm in the simplicity of many of bandai's MG kits (comparatively). There are, however, more Chinese kits I've built that I loved far more, being motor nuclear's wei yuan (both versions) and hemoxian's tastier (my current favourite build ever).
Hemoxian tastier is also my favourite, but I think it's only slightly better than their previous model the Hemoxian thor. Hard to improve on something so good anyway.
@@theholypopechodeii4367 I haven't had the chance to build Thor yet, nor do I know if I will build such a bulky kit. I am tempted to go for the lone shadow though.
@@lucaseichler3140 The thor is absolutely massive, but it has insane engineering for the inner frame, it's like the whole kit is one whole linkage where everything connects to everything else in a chain. Very good articulation too.
Due to Bandai being so focused on P-Bandai releasing and showing little to no interest in the MG line other companies definitely have taken full advantage of Bandai’s inability to provide us with fresh new molds that aren’t just a recolor or 1-3 MGs a year. Okay yeah finally got a MG Vidar(as if it isn’t a good 7-10 hell maybe 15 different Gundams from IBO that we want in MG scale) but even still that took WAAAY TOO LONG TO BE RELEASED. Huuuuuge shout out to these other companies big time 😮💨🔥🔥🔥while they are still working out the small quality issues they all have for the most part you get very top notch products for your money and it seems like every month damn near every week it’s a new 1/100 scale kit from someone I’m loving it but my wallet not so much 🤣🤣😹
You should try out the Robox Animation Bailu. It's a wholly original kit for a design from a (shitty IMO, I tried reading it) manhua. I'd say it's like a slightly more budget -its MSRP in China was notably cheap for what it offered- version of a motor nuclear kit, due to the metal frame, but it's larger and the way the plastic parts build onto the metal frame is slightly different. My only issue is that the metal ab brunch isn't strong enough to hold when the backpack is on, but they do give you a vial of super glue.
Normally the metal joints was the Chinese way to improve the joint stability. It was robust enough if u know what u doing. It was common for these companies to make metal joints as aftermarket joints to improve bandai's proprietary frames too.
I don't like it the fact that 1/100 gets better treatment than 1/144 when it comes down to these cool looking designed mecha figures outside of Gunpla. Hope there will be more 1/144 in the future.

@MechaGaikotsu, you need to do a review of the Solomon Studio Gundam Physalis!!! That kit is THE GUNDAM MODEL KIT. I promise you it won’t disappoint!
🔥The Infinite Dimension Genesis definitely redefines Master Grade Gundam!👏
So many Original Kit poping up this year even the good transformer maker like cangtoys making Gundam esque Kit. Try Sky Defender is worth every penny.
LOVE this review! Hope to see more 3rd party 1/100 scale kits reviews!!!!
My list goes for this
Einta - Sky def and weapon trident
Nilson - Monument Repair
In era - Lizard, Aurora is good too
Snaa - Blue flame
Vtiger - HiNu
Motor nuclear - grunt units Wei yun white and the camo one.. the main ms were better but its spiky asf
Ventiene - Apocalypse
Solomon - Physalis
Hemoxian - Thor, Tastier is better and the upcoming lone shadow.. but i like thor its such a big ass kit
The list goes on actually since lots of 3rd party were popping off lately.. and its a plus for me since i like mg size kits and the fact that this kits were easy to get since i was living in asian country, they were also cheap if comparing price for like bandai kits, kotobukiya etc
thanks for this review!! was planning on building one of the 3rd part kits specially the Mecha Core Industry's Charon
If you want a cheap build
MOTOR NUCLEAR MNP-XH07 WEI YUAN BLADE FIGHT
Is what I recommend
The build is heavy and has metal parts
Solid and very posable
I have build the third party stargazer and the GP02, both came out last year, they were very intricate and the quality of the plastic was very good, the gimmicks of the GP02 would be considered MGEX level with a HG price, I would love to keep building only bandai kits but those 3rd parties are actually giving us model kits and gundam fans builds that we have looking forward to for years, I really hope they do the rest of the GP units as well as some 08th MS team and the blue destiny kits
I got the 3rd party Hemoxian Tastier.
It has an action base that converts into a parts storage or a weapon display.
a robot dog.
Waterslide decals, LED eyes, Photo etch parts and effect parts.
also an emblem sticker, a cardboard background and a thank you card.
for a price similar to a Bandai MG.
edit:
and a wired cloth cape.
hell yea got that and thor as well. really liking hemoxian a lot so far. Looking forward to see what else they put out
@@Demiurge13 Hemoxian Lone Shadow has been announced. A rival to the Tastier.
@Aserbic hmm not sure how I feel about that design. Especially the head. Doesn't feel like a mecha
@@Demiurge13 yeah, they're not going for giant robot for this series.
More like AI robots the size of humans as it's 1/10 scale.
They also did say there will be multiple head designs to use
I just brought the snaa incise grace today based on your review! It’s only 16. USD on big bad toy store right now for anyone interested
I'm excited once you get into In Era kits, especially the new Lizard. Definitely one of the most premium company right now.
Ahh..You forgot to do the Mobile Armor mode man but overall very honest review very transparent love it
love the vids! when are you gonna do a full review of the moshow lancelot?
I had the absolute pleasure of building this last year. Chefs kiss
Thanks mecha for doing this 3rd party kit. I hope you check out zza blue flame next, it was super cool with alot of accessories.
a straight up rip-off Wing Gundam Zero Honoo :|
My brain-eyes thought it was a blue Denial Gundam at first..
There's a few more from the same company or their sister company IN Era+ after Genesis, namely Trailblazer, Thunderbolt, Ruling, Aurora, and the recently released Lizard, which is a Sazabi-esque spin off. All great builds
Finally another non bandai review!! Way to go my dude
Btw if you want a sturdier frame, there's another set where you get metal frame instead of plastic frame, at the additional cost of 15$
Mecha G. has entered the IN ERA+ rabbithole 😅 among the China-produced mecha model kits, they are the top tier!
As someone who bought third party transformers for most of the decade.....I am surprised this has only recently been in the spotlight
As someone who prefers simpler, early UC designs (while still dabbling in more complex designs) I feel like these Chinese companies don't really cater to people like me.
reviewing other kit than bandai is the reason why i subscribe mechagaikotsu
Mecha I recommend trying out the motor nuclear model kits such as the Bai qi and nezha. Motor nuclear makes metal build figures but they also make some model kits based on the metal builds
Good but next you have to try the 3rd party figure based on Basara and Gundam IBO
DH-01 based on Masamune date and Gundam Vidar
DH-02 based on Yukimura Sanada and Gundam Bael
Sky defender is the best overall kit I’ve ever built quality, size design and fitment. And I am quite versed in Bandai, bootleg and third party
YEA MORE THIRD PARTY KITS, THANKS MECHA LOVE UR CONTENT
Transforming this kit gives me RG Zeta flash backs xD
Reposting a comment of mine from your community post yesterday...
Top picks (in no particular order):
- Solomon Physalis GP02
- Eternal Star Glory (MG Stargazer)
- Iron Toys Star Eternal (looks like the Reborns Gundam)
- Nilson Works Monument Repair Type (PG Tallgeese)
- SNAA Blade King (Exia + Aerial like)
- SNAA Aurora (Sinanju + Aegis, but with a Lance)
- SNAA Gawain (the next knight after the Thunder Incise Grace)
- SNAA Ruling (Calamity + Verde Buster)
- SNAA Thunderbolt (Think Strike with the Lightning Striker pack)
- Orange Cat Industries Estailev (Blue Sinanju like Mech)
- Orange Cat Industries Estailev Cassowary (Red version of the Estailev but with weapons similar to the Gouf Custom)
By the way, SNAA, In Era+, Supernova are names for the same company...
The thunderbolt, ruling and aurora are from In Era btw
@@ledias4263Forgot to repost a side comment that I did in the original...
In Era+ / SNAA / Supernova / Infinite Dimension are all the same company...
@@nitev4407 I see
Yes. They've been killing it with mecha musume as well.
It looks like a build fighters custom! And it looks amazing!
Definitely should do the Monument Repair type (3rd party Tallgeese) sometime soon. Would love to see what you think about it.
You definitely need to check out the thunderbolt, judgement, aurora, and lizard!!! They get so much better!!!
Ngl more and more good kit from Chinese is getting better and better
Especially motor nuclear kit they are so good everything fits perfectly
Getting this kit and painting it in a Zinogre pallet is suddenly a need for me.
Its been ages since the last time you review 3rd party kit
I thought Genesis was the worst of the In Era+ line to build due to the metal parts and the part tensions. I had to do a lot of joint sanding. Thunderbolt has so far been the most fun to build. Any of the other ones are so much better.
dont wait a second more and give us the 1/72 sky defender review, im dying for you to build it
I've had this kit for a while, and it's one of 2 3rd party gundam-esque kits I have (the other one, coincidentally, being the only other one you reviewed, the judge).
Infinity Nova In Era+ RMD 1/100 scale Lizard model kit PLEASE DO A REVIEW ON THIS GUNDAM! PLEASE
Hemoxian is an amazing brand for modelkits, i recently got the overzero tastier modelkit and its amazing , also the prices for those are great
Due to Bandai being so focused on P-Bandai releasing and showing little to no interest in the MG line other companies definitely have taken full advantage of Bandai’s inability to provide us with fresh new molds that aren’t just a recolor or 1-3 MGs a year.
My only issue is that the metal ab brunch isn't strong enough to hold when the backpack is on, but they do give you a vial of super glue.
if you like this, im pretty sure you going to love in era thunderbolt
get that if you able
I have this kit and it's fantastic they did a version with a metal inner frame I do believe but I never managed to get hold of one in time :(
We need more reviews like this!
Looking forward to see the next review for 3rd party especially for the lizard
I don’t know a single Gundam modeler that doesn’t use the “godhand spn-120”
would some metallic silver on the parts under the clear orange help make them pop ?
Normally the metal joints was the Chinese way to improve the joint stability. It was robust enough if u know what u doing. It was common for these companies to make metal joints as aftermarket joints to improve bandai's proprietary frames too.
I don't like it the fact that 1/100 gets better treatment than 1/144 when it comes down to these cool looking designed mecha figures outside of Gunpla.
Hope there will be more 1/144 in the future.
The design leans more on zz and exs specifically in the gun, torso, legs
I do believe this is the closest. We've come to seeing ya face but i must say love ya style
Plz do a review of the Special Forces Industry 1/100 Sentinel that kit is just amazing.
