    Typical Tal ... just a quick hint when playing against late Tal: when he sacrifises a piece, just resign, it will hurt less :)

      Mihail Mihailov: On the contrary: If the *late* Tal sacs against you, RUN! (Later, if you survive, try to figure out why you were playing against a skeleton in the first place.)

    Becoming more and more fascinated with Tal's style of gameplay.

    Tal taught us all sooooo much......There have been other great attacking players: Morphy, Anderson, Janowski, Ossip Bernstein, Bogoljubov, Spielmann, Alekhine, just to name a few, but NO ONE crystallized "Attacking Chess principles like Tal...He set the bar and changed chess forever....EVERYONE that plays chess owes a tremendous debt to Misha Tal, regardless of their own style of play..
    He is simply put the "Poet Laureate" of chess. Thanks Mato so much for still another imnstructive asnd entertaining masterpiece

    In alot of the Tal games I've seen, Tal is always capturing knights and bishops with his rook in exchange for a better position. He apparently relies on his rooks to take out pesky minor pieces so his plans will work out more smoothly. Just a thought. :P

    so i'm a big noob (obviously).. and i don't understand why he resigned..? if he would have moved the queen, would it have been an imminent way to end the game for Tal (my noob eyes can't see a fast mate after the rook is lost) or he resigned simply because he would have been one piece down and knew he would eventually lose? so what i'm trying to ask was if the decision to resign was made because a fast mate which i can't see was coming or just because he knew he can't win after losing the rook?

  • @JohnnySkillish
    @JohnnySkillish 12 лет назад

    Doesn't Black simply have Qc8? Black doesn't HAVE to take the Queen, nor give up his own! Even after giving back a Rook that Tal sac'd and some exchanges, the game is FAR from over here! Tal was fierce, no doubt, yet the more I watch his games, the more I see that a lot of these sacs rely heavily on assuming his opponent will blunder somehow. Extremely creative, yet very risky, dangerous player, no doubt. But a lot of these sacs would never "fly" in today's game theory. Great vids!

    You have a really strange accent and for some people it may sound offensive when you say " What would YOU! play in this position" ..however the issue here is that you exhibit bad knowledge of geography I'm afraid. There is no place in Macedonia called Skopie. Macedonia is a Greek place, I'm Macedonian myself, and I can assure you no Skopie exists there.

  • @Guishe32

    In my version of the 'KIlla move' I was thinking first to capture bishop on g7. Black wouldn't have many options after that. If black pushes pawn to g5 , Nf3 would capture it (sounds like a Tal sacrifice) and black would be in big troubles. Not to mention, if black king captures bishop on g7..then rook takes Ne5. What do you think Mato?. Great video!!..thank you.

    Macedonia is in Greece. Macedonia is a Greek word. Just search the etymology of the word. Check Herodotus and Hesiod talking about this area 2.700 years ago. So with all respect, why suddenly FYROM adopts this name? Is it maybe also the case that Alexander the Great will belong to FYROM later on?

  • @oakenguitar3
    @oakenguitar3 11 лет назад

    if white is able to take rook with bishop, theres a knight fork and white wins another rook. white has 5 pieces while black has 4 and black has weaker pawn structure and his extra pawn will be a target. 2 rooks + 1 knight + 1 bishop = 16 points while 1 rook and 2 knights + 2 bishops = 17 points. black is about to lose a rook for sure so minus 5 from 16 and you get 11 points vs 14 points. blacks pieces are not working together anyway since the pinned knight also shuts down the rook.
