    Tal was probably upset Euwe found a way to sacrifice his queen before him

    • @GoUtes92

      Probably a good idea by Euwe. Tal is probably gonna get his way either way, so you might as well take the initiative before Tal does.

    • @GoUtes92
      @GoUtes92 7 лет назад +3

      Well, you gotta give the guy credit. It looked weird but it gave Tal a lot of things to worry about. Something Tal understands pretty well. What I thought was crazy was that both players sacrificed their queens. How often does that happen?

    Max Euwe didn't lose against Tal because of Queen sacrifice and Tal didn't lose because of Queen sacrifice !

  • @Hallands.

    • "Strategy requires thought; tactics requires observation." - Max Euwe
    • "Does the general public, do even our friends the critics realize that Euwe virtually never made an unsound combination? He may, of course, occasionally fail to take account of an opponent's combination, but when he has the initiative in a tactical operation his calculation is impeccable." - Alexander Alekhine
    • "He is logic personified, a genius of law and order. One would hardly call him an attacking player, yet he strides confidently into some extraordinarily complex variations." - Hans Kmoch
    • "There's something wrong with that man. He's too normal." - Bobby Fischer

    • @alexok8980
      @alexok8980 7 лет назад +4

      This is actually a relatively thematic queen sacrifice in the 6.Bg5 Najdorf. I saw the move without any prior calculation just by being familiar with the lines(though didn't calculate its soundness, I was just watching for enjoyment). Believe it or not, in my database, the queen sacrifice actually follows theory, with a couple of games being played all the way up to that point.

  • @elegomeskin

    Tal makes a desperate move ( Q x b ) to salvage a draw. In spite of a quetionable Q sac , Euwe dominated the game and should have won.

    • @PairsOfDuals
      @PairsOfDuals 7 лет назад +2

      pop9095 I'm sure if you looked at any analysis, Euwe would be winning the entire game. It's not like he lost; he drew by forced repetition. Only those who fear losing must resort to repetition, no?
      And also, I think the original commenter was referring to the brilliant queen sacrifice and the quite precise, complicated play that forced Tal to draw.

    • @pop9095
      @pop9095 7 лет назад +2

      Your analysis? What chess publication is it in? What else would the OP have been referring to if not the remarkably technical handling of the complex positions? A draw by definition asserts that the players were of very nearly equal strength.
