      Normal people hate boring rook and pawn endgames too.
      Id much rather have fun playing wild lines throwing pieces away in a mating attack rather than trading off and grinding out a one pawn edge in a boring pawn and king endgame. Probably end up drawing it via stalemate or getting flagged in a completely won position.

I read a story about a civil war general, who asked a friend to set him up with a strong chess player in the area he was visiting, since he fancied himself a good player. The person who showed up, was a boy around 13 or younger. The General thought he was the butt of some joke, but the young boy, who played against him was none other than Paul Morphy, who had no trouble beating him.

      @@worsethanjoerogan8061 doesnt really matters that an engine disagrees with your play half a century later..it was a battle of nerves between tal and his opponent and he prevailed..even though he was aware that his sacrifices were unsound..he himself said that there are 2 types of sacrifices one correct and other mine..moreover alphazero proved many of stockfish's defences to be as good as tal's opponent..

    • @SpaceEag11
      @SpaceEag11 Год назад

      Well it actually does because the op is assuming Tal would be backed by engine to improve his play and in the context it would mean he will analyse games using an engine and influence his play. Easily 3000+ is a exaggeration as we know it's not happening,. Comparing players from two different eras is not accurate, but if Tal was alive and used engine..then may be we could debate

    A completely fantastic Tal & Hoodie game. Tal clearly had to work fairly hard to win this one, especially as he had a bad cold. But Tal is really one of the most fascinating players to watch. Plus a particularly brilliant analysis by Mr Agadmator.
