THANK YOU A MILLION!!!! I fixed my TV replacing the chip! Also added heat dissipation liquid with several small sheets of aluminum I custom cut with fins to allow more heat dissipation.
My 50l3400u was blinking bad, i didnt change the chip or the heatsink. I just replaced the thermal compound/paste that i had laying around and so far it works great. thanks for the vid
miller jerome did the same thing! Working great so far
ended up blinking again. just ordered the component and have the backlight turned down for now
I had the same issue. Ended up unsoldering the heat sink and adding a new heat sink to the ic chip. No issues since.
I’ve got a similar issue with my 50L1400u but I bought a new board for $39 and it came on and 10 mins later the same issue could it be a bad led strip
Did any of you figure it out??
Received IC from china. New paste under ic and pad on top. No more blink! Thanks for your help.
Thank you for your comment.
i had the same issue on our TV same brand. before changing parts try to lower the lower configuration like the brightness and etc.. try to lower the brightness first to 50; notice the scren the blinking getting slower until it will stop blinking. Our TV is working until now and i didnt change any parts.
Kevin Cervera wow thanks for the tip!
Kevin Cervera Hey thanks for the tip! It worked for me too.
Thanks it stopped.
Kevin Cervera Thanks for this "Awesome" tip, it worked!
This worked for me too! Thanks!
Hi Friend, I know it's an old posting.....but my tv started doing that recently, where can I get the "heat transfer pads"? Thank you
Hmmm... I don’t know if this is my issue but mine was just flashing when I started the computer.. I hope you get an answer to this.
where can i get some heat transfer pads
TLDR: The issue is this chip is over heating. Lowering the brightness or backlight MAY keep is under the heat limit, but that's not really the fix.
A better fix is to replace the chip, add new heat sink paste. the OEM was a LITTLE SPARSE from what I saw. I also bought a small heat sink kit (you can get 100 of them for 6 bucks on amazon) and added two more heatsinks to the outer heatsink of the chip. This should help in cooling as well.
Buenas tardes en dónde conseguiste el integrado
Wanted just to replace board can't find one anywhere
ok I did this to my 40inch tv and it stopped blinking so I ordered a new board put it in and it still blinks. so my question is what makes that chip get hot? if I turn the brightness down it stops blinking for a while but then the brightness turns itself back up on its own so what is causing this ???
Did you try turning down the backlight instead of the brightness?
The chip is driving the brightness. You need to dissipate the heat from the chip.
I removed the chip and soldered a new one on.. new one gets very hot just like the old one and starts blinking. I'd reccomend trying a 40mm x 40mm x10mm heatsink just thermal taped onto the existing heatsink.
Did you try this? Any luck?
i had that problem i found the problem i can help you for 15 dollars
@@camibohn1017 did you have that problem
I have this same tv no sound any help?
Followed all recommendations, tv now does not blink. However it is now very dim on the top and bottom of the screen. Do you know the reason this could be?
Nick Beach the back lights are going out due them being up too high for too long.
I have a toshiba 5oL3400uc 2014 model that only blinks when i have an hdmi plugged in, the cable and the color strem HD work fine. Will that chip work in my UC model?? and I added 3 cpu fans on the back thinking it was a heating issue, it only helped for a short while and the hdmi started blinking other than the chip who has any idea why only the hdmi blinks?
It may blinks only on HDMI, because PICTURE SETTINGS are not the same. Go to HDMI INPUT and press MENU. Check picture settings and lower backlight. That may help for a wile.
I fix my TV installing a 12v fan, because I had one!
You fixed this model tv like that?
Yes my friend, the fan is keeping the chip cold and the problem hasn't come back
@@mazizodelarmy did you point the fan to blow on the chip or to vent heat away?
@@vantowers9017 both
I lowered the brightness and backlight below 50% and it instantly stopped blinking fingers crossed
Mine did the same before it started becoming dim on on1/3 of the screen
we have a 50L3400U TV, and we have a black screen or at startup very hard to see some picture on the left side of the screen. Do you think this fix is what we need?
Not sure. In any repairs, troubleshooting needs to be done first. I don't want to give you a wrong info.
Thank you.
We have a very dark just about black screen, sometimes on startup you can see a little something. Can you share any trouble shooting tips? it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm sorry, but if you are not a tech, I can't.
Thank you for understanding.
Paul's TV Co but you instead post a how to video to fix another issue. I'm guessing it's only for"Techs" as well. Seems like smoke and mirrors or possibly you don't Know how to fix his problem.
There's no ego involved in this, it simply comes down to one's capabilities. He doesn't want to suggest anything because you cant properly diagnose a problem without the board in hand. When he suggests that you must be a tech, all he is doing is saving your electronics because a non-tech might unknowingly break something with misinformed troubleshooting. Also, he does mention in the video that it's for "techs only"
My TV has a shadow of the right top side, I smacked hard one and it was fixed now it starts flashing
Replaced IC 2hrs latter it started again any ideas?
Did you add a heat transfer pad? The issue with this is the chip is overheating, and you need to dissipate the heat somehow.
if you add a heat transfer pad 2hrs latter it started is an other thing i had that problem 4 hrs later i can help you for 20 dollars
i have similar problem with an Thosiba 40L54 The Status LED is Flashing. TV goes ON for some Secs an go off.... Any Ideas? Sounds like Voltage Unit i think.
Does it keep cycling over and over?
@@CarnivoreConservative ye, Status LED flashes Red green Red Green.
@@oo-ph3lm
My guess would be a bad power supply. I thought you meant that the toshiba screen came up then powered down over and over. Is it blinking like green 2 seconds red 1 second or is it the same for both blinks
@@CarnivoreConservative no Screen is fine it comes for some secs and then power off. Yeah Power Supply is it i think to Thank you :)
You need a service manual and read the blink code. The blink code/pattern tells you what the problem is. It's a completely different problem.
i cannot find heat transfer pads anywhere
Just get thermal paste. You don't need pads.
Does anyone knows the thickness of the heat pad??
1.50mm / 0.059inch will work great.
if you bad to change a chip ,you can just remove the plastic on the back and put a fan to blow air at the chip ,it keep it cool and he will never blink ,and is like if the chip cant support the power of the max light and burn, dont forget to put down the back light
thanks, i am trying this today. going to redo the paste and cut out a small hole in the back of the plastic for a computer fan to fit in . i wonder which way the mobo is facing tho, or if it even matters if i blow the front of the back . i know i want to hit the face of the chip , but if it's not oriented that way, perhaps the air flow from the fan would still be enough along with the paste
