In this Video Myrna Haag RD. LD/N explains how the MTHFR gene increases the risk for heart disease, cancer, and dementia, which can easily be resolved with the right nutrition recipe. Even if you don’t know your gene status, this video explains what nutrients everyone needs for a maximum detox regimen.

It's great to see a RD step up and address nutrigenomics, and address the biochemical cause of many health issues! You should also address heavy metal chelation therapy with EDTA or zeolites that bind to these nutrient receptor sites that inhibit nutrients from being absorbed correctly. So many of us are toxic, due to all the chemicals toxins and heavy metals that are in our air, food, and water supplies.

This was really good information on b methylation. Its a shame you had to end it with plant based rubbish though. Animal based diets are known to reduce inflammation not increase it. Eating lots of plants is a great way to increase your inflammation.
Still thank you for the b vitamin stuff.

Thank you so much for watching the video I appreciate your patronage
In the video, I was referring to the gut bacteria TMAO (that is from eating L-carnitine and Choline) which is highest in animal foods rich in these 2 compounds. Studies also support that if people take supplements with megadoses of choline and L-carnitine they can also have an increase in the gut bacteria TMAO. The bacteria TMAO which is from eating foods high in animal meats, cheese, and eggs, travels to the artery lining and weakens the artery wall (causing lesions that can result in rupture) increasing the risk for heart attacks and stroke. This creates an inflammatory condition and is an independent risk factor for heart disease.
I typically test my patients who are carnivores and have elevated risk for heart disease, and I find approx. 50% have the bacteria. when these patients reduce their consumption of meats, cheese, and eggs, the TMAO bacteria goes away. My reference in the video was that studies support that eating a plant-based diet, while supplementing with Choline, has not been shown to cause TMAO.
Some chemicals in plant foods can be problematic for some patients, especially with certain gene types and autoimmune diseases.
No one type diet works for everyone.

I think it would be a great video idea in the future to discuss inflammatory triggers in plant and animal foods. thank you for the idea!

I have short bowel syndrome and I would never ever ever ever have you as my dietitian. Shame on you you should tell people to eat more meat.

I agree. Carnivore is the way to go! Lady knows nothing about plant toxins.

The video is not about short bowel syndrome, perhaps a good video topic to address for the future. thanks for the idea. I recommend different diets based on a patient's individual needs. I would have to review all the variables before blindly recommending any type of diet for a diseased state.
