I indeed get limp mode / half engine light occasionally. Here are my DME codes after ~2 months since clearing: 2A82 - VANOS Intake (shadow codes:) 2FCA - Fuel High Pressure... (german) 2FDA - Crankshaft Sensor, Signal: missing Thank you for your comment 🙏 and guiding me to what to address. Your information is greatly appreciated and different from typical HPFP and Injector advice, thank you again!
Yeah, I had outdated index 7 and 9 injectors swapped out with latest index 12 and now my n54 is running mint! My advice before dropping ~$1k on new injectors is to inspect your spark plugs when your engine is cold, or has sat overnight. If you see that your spark plugs are wet and smell like fuel, your injectors are leaking causing this long crank condition when cold starting. This also resolved my intermittent misfiring when idling. Good luck bro.
SOLVED! Replaced mix of index 7, 9 injectors with full set of Index 12 injectors and has solved my long crank and misfires on cold start!
Do you get limp mode occasionally? My fix btw:
Replace both CRANKSHAFT and CAMSHAFT sensors.
Codes?
Also your vanos solenoids
