    I changed my camshaft sensor on Intake side and crank sensor last year because check engine would turn on and the car wouldn't crank up after it was hot. My 335i started stalling recently at low rpms at red lights and stop signs, changed the vacuum lines and came to realize it was mainly my camshaft sensor bank 1 b exhaust code P130A. After that Idle went smooth and car hasn't stalled since or jerked while driving, felt great

    I had the same problem with my 335i when I got it. My car went into limp mode and when I drove it home right after I got a cylinder misfire from cylinder 6, which turned out to be a ignition coil. I thought I could play it slick by ordering a cheap $13 sensor from ebay, no luck. You need the original Siemens vdo (now bought out by Continental) for the car to leave limp mode. The dealer apparently charges $1100 for this replacement

    My brother's e60 535xi is down and out also. It was getting really long crank before it started so figured that it must have been the hpfp. Bought a new hpfp and replaced it and also did new spark plugs. After installing everything the car would crank but won't start at all. I'm down to this. Ordered a new crankshaft sensor and going to be replacing it next week when it comes in. Fingers crosses that she will start up! Will keep you posted! Great video by the way! Keep it up bro!!

    My 2004 BMW 530i has a horrible vacuum like behind the intake manifold, they capped it off. My mechanic suggested almost $500 doing the entire intake manifold no thanks, there is no leak coming from there and I am not losing coolant, pop off the microfilter housing and replace the cap then smoke the intake and see if it fixes it ha; I’m gonna smoke it first to see how effective it is. Always love your videos! Definitely gotta work on these cars, and I’m forcing myself to learn how to.

    im getting a Cam Sensor number also! My 2008 335xi coupe is in limp I guess.. Half lite engine on gauge ..if I get up on it, it starts bogging out. as soon as I ease up on gas pedel, it kinda goes away .. Some one said its near my vannos in front? .. I also have a oil leak coming from my vannos or one of the 2 cam sensors on each side of it.... wont know were the oil leak is coming from until I remove the valve cover(cover) to see it better

    Get BMS dual cones. Glad you got the bimmah running. I've done that fix too, I broke one sensor and ordered another. Also if you look closely when you order, (got mine from ecs), you'll see the o ring is in fact a separate part. A LOT of parts are like this. You'll have to order the screws separate for some parts because the screws are to be used ONCE. Live and learn. Have fun brotha

    Dude when you type in crankshaft position sensor on RUclips there’s a bunch of camshaft position sensor’s and I accidentally replaced the wrong part thinking that I replace the crankshaft position sensor later on I noticed that I didn’t change it it’s much more of a hassle than the camshaft

    Just came back on this video because I think my crankshaft position sensor is beginning to fail. (Long cranks on cold start sometimes, hiccups in idle, and under acceleration i get hesitation around 5000-7000rpm

    Bmws are fucking shit, been dealing with parasitic issues on my e60 for over a week now

      Same. I have had mine 8 months and love it but in those 8 months I've put $8,000 into it. Not by choice but because it continuously leaves me stalled in the road. I literally paid $2,600 last week and 6 days later I'm stalled out in the road again. Yesterday's issue sounds like the camshaft position sensor but there's Def something electrical going on too.

    So did you have to do any resetting once you installed the crankshaft sensor mine has done the exact same thing but after I replaced it it will only crank and not start

    • @SimplyCarThings
      @SimplyCarThings  5 лет назад +1

      no mine started up after install, make sure you pushed the sensor all the way so that it's connected!

      @@SimplyCarThings ok I will try that, it does wiggle a slight bit and I felt like the bolt was going to strip if I tightened it down anymore and I don't need that

    I'm sure you've answered this question a million times, but I would like to know what scan tool/software do you use? I'm looking for the best option for coding and clearing fault codes. Right now I'm looking at iCarly and INPA. any advice/tips would be appreciated. BTW Great job on fixing your car!!
