- Walk The Talk: Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Farokh Engineer goes back to his cricketing days when he hammered a Test ton off just 46 balls against West Indies at Chepauk in 1967. He adds that during his time the bowling was a lot faster than what we see today.

ENGINEER WAS THE BEST AND MOST FLAMBOYANT AND SMART CRICKET OPENER/WICKETKEEPER OF HIS TIME. I HAVE SEEN HIM PLAY AT CCI BRABOURNE STADIUM IN BOMBAY IN THE LATE 60's AND EARLY 70's. HE COULD HAVE EASILY BECOME A BOLLYWOOD MOVIE STAR IF HE CHOSE TO. HIS CAP, HIS RAISED COLLAR.
Very articulate and not afraid to speak his mind!Yeah agreed Griffith and Gilchrist were seriously quick and as menacing as any modern fast bowler!To face them without helmets,thin padding and a plastic box is a feat in itself!And on uncovered pitches on large grounds with small sight screens to take such quicks on is definitely commendable!Yes Sir I do agree with you 100%!

The match he was talking about is in another RUclips video and he did not finish his hundred before lunch. He was close to it but finished it after lunch.

This is nonsense. Faroukh says he reached his century with a six off the first ball after lunch. He didn't hit a six in his innings. The official match scorecard shows he hit 18 fours. We are also expected to believe he faced only 45 balls before lunch, which in the session means he faced about 3 balls every two overs. The maths just doesn't add up. In another video, he claims he has the scorecard to prove he hit a 46 ball century. Solution is simple - show everyone!

Faroukh Engineer would be my choice of wicket keeper batsman in an all time Indian test XI. His batting was absolutely cavalier, but technically perfect. He was technically superior to Gavaskar who struggled against the really great fast bowlers outside India such as Hadlee and Lillee. My all time Indian test XI would have Foroukh partner Shewag another great natural.
