    In all the interviews, Sourav has always talked only positive about Viru and look at his facial expressions how happy he was while talking about Sehwag. Really very nice to see players from those generations are close friends even now. Very difficult to find in these days ❤❤

    Dada himself plays down his own batting, he was a really good batsman himself score 60 in 43 in this match and sehwag scored 45. Clearly shows what an unselfish player and great leader he was.

    Sehwag had a better solution for that match and Ganguly obviously very graciously admits it. But I also think this highlights, why sehwag prolly couldn’t be a better captain despite having a better solution.
    And that is because Ganguly prolly adapted to his colleagues styles and used them to win games, as explained very beautifully in this video.
    Master players have tried to be captains and failed. Not because they understood the game any less, but because they failed to understand their players and colleagues better and use it to the teams advantage.
    Thanks for attending my Ted talk. I feel preachy after typing all that shit high out of my mind. Peace.

    Credit to Sourav and his selection saare k saare legend and all have different style and skill.
    Sehwag, Yuvraj, Zaheer, Harbhajan, Dhoni, Nehra, Kaif, Dinesh Karthik
    He also gave so many chances to many player but they didn't able to perform much likes of
    Rohan Gavaskar, Deep das Gupta,
    Dinesh Mongia, parthiv Patel, Ajay ratra, avishkar salvi, sarandeep Singh , shiv sunder das, hemang badani etc
    Itney players ko chances at a span of 5 years that too without ipl where talent scouting from only domestic cricket is really hats off.
    He took captaincy after match fixing where people in India was not believing in cricket players and started hating ICT but changed the mindset of people of India, agar shayad woh nahi hota toh aaj Indian cricket shayad aise nahi hota.
    Ek WC Sourav bhi deserve karta tha yaar still haunt 2003 final shayad woh din humara nahi tha...
    Aaj toh har saal ek WC trophy hota hai and chances are multiple but those days the chances were so limited.

    Dada lifted the indian team up. He led the team with fierce and competitive mindset. As a captain he nurthured budding cricketers. If you remember, he asked Dravid to keep the wickets when the wall was under pressure to get selected in the team. Young guns who joined the team have learnt a lot from Ganguly. Dhoni got such a “ready made” team to play with as a captain later. Never forget Daada, Don of cricket. I liked his way of dealing with sledging by Ausies. Never crossed the line but gave it back to them . This chamged the entire young indian cricket team led by dhoni to get success.

  • @sunilrajxyz
    @sunilrajxyz 5 месяцев назад +7

    Dada is adding some spice here.. I still remember that game. 2002 Natwest Series Final it was. That was not Viru's day and he was struggling to score through the first 5-10 overs and it was Ganguly who was getting boundaries in that period. Dada got a 50 off 30 odd balls and Sehwag number was something like 15 off 30 balls. He was missing the ball consistently. Then came Roni Irani and Sehwag's chance to bring some decency into his numbers. He hit 4 boundaries in that one over and finally when he departed, he had 40 odd runs off 50 balls.That was a very indifferent Sehwag innings, especially because India was chasing 320+ runs. No way Sehwag would have agreed to Dada's "take single and play safe" advice after scoring just 15 runs off 30 odd balls.😁😁

    • @ruchirawh
      @ruchirawh 5 месяцев назад +3

      You are exactly right. Before the start if that Ronnie Irani over, Ganguly was on 52(36) and Sehwag was on 22(37). Sehwag scored 4 boundaries (and no singles) in that over to move up to 38(43). Two overs later, Ganguly fell for 60(43) and the next over Sehwag fell for 45(49). India who were 106/0 in 14.3 overs were suddenly looking at a heavy defeat with 146/5 in 24 overs and all the stalwarts (Ganguly, Sachin, Dravid) were back in the pavilion. If not for the partnership between the 21-year-old Yuvraj and 22-year-old Kaif, it would have been a disaster. They actually started slowly (and conveniently) and later accelerated when they were well set.
