My wife told me about your videos so I started watching them tonight (and taking notes as well!) I can use much of the information that you shared in yhour videos - meaning that I will be a return customer!
What do you do when you have bin after bin and pile after piles of papers. I need help getting started. Any suggestions as to how to or where to begin? I’ve tried presorting. But I’m stalling and now I’m feeling even more overwhelmed ! Ugh 😑. Please let me know. Thank you 🙏
The entire pile is overwhelming and comes with such dread that it's easy to stall! So you have to make it more manageable. The closest basket - and only look at ONE basket - or set the timer for a limited amount of time. Also, you need to make sure you have a temporary home for the papers.... so get file folders to sort into broad categories: Medical / banking / bills / important document / Personal / Memory, etc. This allows the files to go into a box at the end that is 'done'. Keep adding each time you go through more papers. Then celebrate what you accomplish each time and commit to when you are doing the next session. It will take awhile, but you can do this!! 💙
I keep categories, ie medical, school, bills etc etc but only important stuff, not junk, but I am a list maker lol, my father bought me a briefcase many years ago when I left home with the instructions it was for my paperwork, and I should sort through at least weekly, and I always have - , shredding pre 2018 keeping only school reports, medical and marriage details, chucking out receipts of goods you no longer have, it makes you feel free without all that junk cluttering your life, another great video. Thank you xx💚
How many receipts do you recommend keeping for proof of use of child support vs. the use of my personal income in taking care of my minor children? I was divorced and keep all by month/year in file folders. As my children age out of child support I plan on getting rid of this kind of clutter, but right now I keep it just in case for court ( so far it has been three years and I have not motioned for an order for increase in child support despite major living expense increase (teens) ).
I'd defer that question to your attorney - as they would better know how long receipts can be requested through court. If you can email them, it usually doesn't cost anything for the office to answer. It's smart that you keep it all.... just in case. xoxox
Break them down by the person first, if applicable, then by specialty (i.e., heart, neuro, ortho) and always by date. PM me your specifics and I will see if I can break down more. :)
I'm one for collecting business cards from everyone and everywhere. I've known idea how to organize them/what to do with them? Also I've tons of paperwork to go through and don't know what to do with it all. I hold on to stuff thinking I might need it or someone else could use the information. Ugh I'm overwhelmed.
I organize business cards by 'what', not 'who'. So Auto, Beauty, Home Repair, Travel, etc. Because you may not remember Joe Smith.... but you will know you had a great service who helped you with your car - so.... organize the cards by category. The paperwork - do high level sorting first - financial, personal, home, medical, etc..... THEN (after you take a break) you can break it down into smaller categories. Hope this helps.
Call Clutter Fairy 🧚🏻♀️ 🙏 got it. I’ll give it another go. I have been tempted to just getting a huge big black bag and just dumping everything into it. It’s so overwhelming.
What type of paperwork do you have the most of?? Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Your Dad did you a great favor! It's so much easier to stay on top of paperwork. It's my clients biggest stress source. Thanks for watching!

@@TheCraftyOrganizer Thanks I'm on the right track. I've been putting business cards in ziplock bags in categories like doctor's etc.

I’m pretty good about mail etc for myself. But my SO, well, that’s another story.
I have an "EX-SO" and no one knows what I'm saying out loud. Haha
I would love to see this video but with and without wifi it keeps loading 😔
Somebody help?
I think RUclips was having issues earlier.... I couldn't get anything to play with sound. I'm sorry. Hope you can try again!
