The reference to that there made of fire is the holy spirit fire that's refining you Burning out impurities.
So there's a difference between holy spirit fire and hell fire.
Jen Ledger the Drummer/Female Vocalist is amazing. You won't find anyone that rocks that hard on the drum and puts out vocals like that.
I love this band, such amazing music. Beyond the music, these are all some very wonderful people. In this life or the next, I plan to give them all some really big hugs.
One of my favorite songs by Skillet. The Holy Spirit is represented by fire. That is what that probably meant. You should check out “Legendary”. I’m sure you’d like it. Thanks!
Appreciate you.
LOVE the shirt!!! 👍
Fire can symbolize the Holy Spirit breathed into believes after Jesus was raised up to heaven. Nice reaction Bro!
Skillet is my favorite band! Skillet's what is called a crossover-Christian band. They are Christians, but they don't strictly mention God by name in every song and primarily they perform at mainstream shows and festivals, but they sometimes play Christian events. Right now, they're on a headlining tour with Theory of a Deadman and Saint Asonia. Skillet's played shows with mainstream acts like Papa Roach and Anthrax. Some Christian artists Skillet has played with are Jeremy Camp and Newsong. As for your question about the lyrics about fire, they are using a verse in the Bible from Deuteronomy 4:24, "Our God is a consuming fire". They also use that verse and Hebrews 12:29 in another song called Whispers in the Dark. It's my favorite song by Skillet and you definitely check it out! I also had the pleasure to meet John Cooper the lead singer at Camp Electric (music camp for teens) last year where he preached and sang for us! I absolutely loved your reaction. Thank you!
Thank you for this comment. I do plan on checking out more. Will add your suggestions to the list. Getting to meet the lead singer that’s awesome.
The female guitarist is the lead singer's wife, and they have two kids together!
Family business thats cool
Im not into religion at all but i love skillet they sing really motivational songs my favourite is not gonna die then resistance
Appreciate you. I added those to the list.
Skillet is a great band. And they do consider themselves a Christian rock band. All their shows rather mainstream or Christian John talks about really his relationship with Jesus but doesn’t cram the gospel down peoples throats. He’s also very conservative politically and an outspoken Trump supporter. He’s a got a podcast called ‘Cooper stuff’
Appreciate that. Banned for a few weeks again so check my rumble.
Listen to monster by skillet that is a good one
So, there's actually quite few reference to God being fire in the Bible (e.g. burning bush, pillar of fire, refining fire, etc), and people can be "on fire" for the Lord. I think the metaphor in the song is purely modern though, as in "wow, that's fire!" Most of Skillet's stuff isn't explicitly Christian, but they will tell that Christ is who they are singing about in songs like this. They say it's OK for you to think about this song and most of their others applying to people in your life though, since it doesn't mention any of God's/Jesus' exclusive qualities that they don't share with humans. They don't see preaching as their job in the band, but rather sharing the joy & talent God gave them with the world. God can use their music to bring people to Him, but at the end of the day, if you hear a Skillet song or see a Skillet show and are happier because of it, they've done their job.
I appreciate this comment I haven’t dove into the Bible that much yet. Thanks for the support
I wouldn’t quite say that every song is Christian’s. But for some good Christian songs by him. I wpuld recommend stars, loins (giants), or save me.
