We joke about them being the top/best band most seem to not have heard of. :) A friend introduced them to me a couple years ago, and they've become my favourite band. Enjoy your journey into their music. So many great songs to check out, but one that really needs more reactions and I think represents their sound for the last decade or so, is, "I Want to Live". A few other suggestion 'Awake and Alive' 'The Resistance' 'Hero' 'Comatose' 'Not Gonna Die' 'Surviving the Game' and 'Victorious'.

I actually just wanted to say: all that mattered is that he stood his ground and showed up. In the face of adversity also.

Depression not being real is almost the same as saying addiction is a choice. I understand your point of view, but not all mental states are chosen or wanted. Lows and unwanted feelings aren't a conscious choice. Routine actions that lead to the same result may very well be, mind patterns, triggers etc. But depression on it's own is not a choice, trauma on it's own is not a choice. Coping mechanisms are a choice, there's healthy and unhealthy ones. Not everyone has proper guidance when they face these battles and we lean on ourselves to figure it out. As someone who struggled mightily with depression for 10+ years and have lost friends to it, it's very real and not something that is chosen my friend.

LP . What can I say other than I fell down the rabbit hole about 7 years ago and I haven’t emerged since. Her mother sang opera and heard her daughter’s powerful vibrato at a young age and guided her towards operatic training as a way to harness her innate vocal power. Sadly her mother died when LP was a teenager and never got to hear just how incredibly beautiful her voice matured into. This is East West Studios in LA. LP is one of those artists who is so much better live because you get to really hear the power of her voice. It is both refined and raw and it just soars over the audience. I know that radio is all about the money and the politics of the business , and it is truly shameful . LP should have a much larger presence in the States like she does in Europe and South America.
