    I had mine done last month. Prior to having it replaced I had misfires and a lot of smoke. I ended up replacing the valve cover itself with a Febi brand I have not had any issues since.

    I had someone make this job for me, but I´m not sure if he did the right procedure with the Valvetronic motor. When I drive the car fast on some twisty roads the car won´t acelerate for some seconds even if I give it full throttle so I think it has something to do with the Valvemotor (?) or maybe the Vanos. During daily driving there is no problem. The gasket leaks again so I will do the maintenance myself with your video as a guide. And I havent been charged for replacment Bolts (do they come included with the new cover? I had to let it be replaced aswell because I have the plasic one and I cracked)

    Good work mate! I'll need to get into this soon myself. What sort of scan tool do I need to relearn the valvetronic motor end stops? Up until now I thought the only way was bmw ista software.

      I used a Schwaben scan tool-

    Great video! Is there a specific torque for the 2 valvetronic motor fasteners?

    • @Doobie464
      @Doobie464 9 месяцев назад

      For anyone wondering I think found the answer - 10Nm

      @Doobie464 9 месяцев назад +1

      To clarify:
      The valve cover bolts for the *magnesium* valve cover are 7 Nm + 90 degrees. These bolts are aluminum and are one time use. Valvetronic motor to the magnesium valve cover is 4 Nm + 90 degrees. Again, one time use.
      The valve cover bolts for the *plastic* valve cover are 9 Nm. These bolts are steel and reusable. Valvetronic motor to the plastic valve cover is 10 Nm.

    No sealant needed on the new Valve cover gasket?
