Perfect timing. I'm literally researching this to do it myself. Bravo 👏👏👏

    Hey Dean,
First of all, your videos are a blessing. You're more knowledgeable about these n52s than any other dealer i've ever been to. I don't want to bother, but I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with my 2008 528i that has 178k miles on it.
The car starts fine besides the occasional rattling/ticking sound that's prominent on start up but goes away after driving. Once I drive off and come back down to a stop though, the idle drops to about 500rpm and the engine shudders like it's about to stall before bouncing back up. Sometimes before bouncing up the car will misfire for around 20-30 seconds before fixing itself and idling normally, and it also will fix itself if I just start driving off. I also seem to be either burning or losing oil as well as coolant, as I've had to top up the coolant 2 times since owning it and oil 3 times, but I can't find a leak.
What are the main things I should check, and could you maybe direct me to any videos you have that would help me take care of that? The car performs great for its age when driving and I'd like to maintain it as long as possible.
Thanks so much, you're awesome at what you do.

I might need to do this to my N55. It definitely has a better vanos system as from what I can see in this video.
    Very well explained as well!

No, you don't have to, I did that on my bmw and I didn't do calibration. It's just reccomendations so you have to pay extra to mechanic

Another brilliantly informative video, thank you. Apologies if I missed it but do you have a list of all the common oil leaks on an N52? Mine has 1 or more leaks as the under tray is oily and it is collecting in some of the parts at top of the engine. Also small amount in the recess of the oil filler cap. Weirdly it doesnt seem to use or lose much oil as I am always checking it..

I have done not long ago on mine E46 325ci rocker cover gasket/ M54 engine - much easier and looking with access perspective as well much better ✅ I am actually thinking of swapping this car for something with N52 like 630i, but still unsure if worth. ATM I got covered 150k miles and is so smooth ✅💪, all the best 💪😉

Thank you is there a way to get bolts for engine cover for cheap.? I thought about machining using regular aluminum don’t know is that would be fine. I’m pretty confident I can make an identical bolt with same thread size and everything.
