wow it just worked for me, My 2016 civic x Turbo wasn't giving beep sound on locking & and no remote start functionality but after watching this vlog I checked my door locks and found my front passenger side lock wasn't moving upon locking / unlocking so I manually locked/ unlocked it once AND EVERYTHING started FUNCTIONING 😀 Big thx ❤ ...this literally solved my problem in 5 minutes, I watched, went to my car, did the thingy & it worked great vlogs bro, keep it up Nader Islamabad , Pakistan
Hi, awesome video! I was just hoping for some further help. Sure enough, I followed your video and the latch was unplugged. I plugged it back in and the locking feedback worked, as did the remote start. However, after two tries the remote start stopped working again. The locking feedback still works though. Do you have any ideas on how to fix?
Wow, Great, I sent my car to a mechanic he couldn't figure out why the car won't run on the remote, when I showed him the video he felt confused, he tries, and it works!!😁
just bought a new used CRV 2017 and the dealer couldn’t even get the remote start working. Your video helped a lot. In our case, the hood latch sensor was not even connected, but you pointed me in the right direction. awesome. Thank you
Dude! You saved me! Thank you! My pilot had the hood latch replaced as part of the recall by the dealer and THEY forgot to plug back in the cable. It hasn’t worked since then but I didn’t realize it was because of that until now. Thank you.
Yeah, I had this same issue after taking my car to the shop. Ridiculous. They didn’t plug it back in. It avoided me from having to take it back to the shop. Great video. Thanks!
hey, i have the same issue right now on my 2021 honda civic ex. I don’t know why it does that. What’s your vehicle? I’m wondering if we might be part of the same recall…
Just bought a used odyssey and it was driving me crazy that my car would not beep when I locked it! After much research I finally came across this video and I had a good feeling this was the fix I needed. Went out to take a look under the hood and sure enough the plug for the switch had came unplugged. So I plugged it back in, and I got the beep! Thanks for the help!
My 2020 accord sport was in a small front collition and since i got it never flashed lights or made the locking sound. After watching this video I went outside and checked the hood latch and the connector was disconnected, plugged it back and now it works as it should. Thank you for the great video!
Thanks. This clip saved my money. My hood was left open and remote key start was not working and I messed up around a lot of things. Saw this clip and now feeling relaxed.
I'm so glad I saw this because I could not figure out why my car alarm would not work hours after taking it in for service repair. I did not realize the service repair guy did not close the hood completely and lock it. Not until 3-days later as I was driving onto the freeway doing 60+ the car hood started bouncing up and down. I pulled over and secured it and tested the key fob my alarm worked. Jeez!
Thank you sir! I have been driving my 2019 Touring Hybrid Accord for almost 1.5 years now thinking I have a wiring or ECU problem and eventually gave up until I saw your video. Gotta admit, it does feel nice to have the auto lock walk away feature as well as the locking audible feedback. I wasn't the first owner so I assume the has been in an accident before or somehow the latch is defective in another way. Thanks again! Done the jumper wire trick and all the issues were instantly resolved! I was confused at the start of my inspection as the latch and the switch looked intact. Tried cleaning the switch but still didn't succeed as it looks like its damaged internally, not closing the circuit. I'm on the look out for a new latch now.
Thank you brother! Your video helped me troubleshoot step-by-step. I had opened the hood by mistake by lifting the hood lever instead of the gas tank lever (they are next to each over). I didn’t realize it. The hood is now closed properly, and the car beeps again with the lights coming on. All is well. Thank you again🙏🏾
Hi, I want to thank you today I had the same issue you put on the video, I went to a shop Where they program remote Keys I explain your video to them and they didnt triste me so they check with the scanner, after a while I did open the hood and find out 1 of the 2 wires of the plug from the hood latch was cut of, so they fix it and problem solved
Wao mil gracias, ese era mi problema y con este video fue la solucion para mi civic 2018 ahora se blquean las puertas al alejarme y enciendo remoto, muchas gracias
Hey man, just have to say your videos are monumental! I’ve learned so much already but I have a 2017 Honda Accord Touring Coupe & I was in a accident the impact was only and directly to the driver side headlight area, which Ik is where Honda has a lot of relays/sensors/& wiring. Well I cannot for the life of me get my car to start back up, anyway we could exchange emails so maybe I could send you a few pics of it & pick your brain? It would be SERIOUSLY appreciated, as I’ve been researching and trying to figure this out for a while but I finally found your page earlier and I’ve spent hrs watching your videos and reading literally every comment and reply & it’s very clear you know SO much more. My car doesn’t react to literally anything from my key fob, yes the hood is off the car so I will try to jump it in the morning but please if I could pick your brain and ask a few questions off of here would be great man
Great tips. I was wondering why the remote start wont work. Saw your video and then checked my hood and it was closed. But I popped it open anyway and closed again and now it's working. Thanks.
@@aussiebharata2564 I had it working but when I really needed remote start (outside was -20deg. F), it stopped again. Took it to the dealer and the service rep said press lock twice( in quick succession) then press remote start key. It has been working flawlessly ever since. It’s just weird because the user manual and online forums don’t say press lock twice.
Thanks for this! Brand new Honda Civic 22... 6 months old wouldn't remote start. Turns out my left rear passenger door was stuck and wouldn't open by the exterior handle (unlocked, but wouldn't open until I got inside and manually relocked and then unlocked it to open it from the inside). Now everything is working as before. Like you said, my anti-theft was working so it was likely a door, trunk or hood not closed. Also, mine made clicking noises on the locks when I reached a low speed before I found the issue (I imagine it is the car doing it's lock door routine when a certain speed had been reached)
Hey Luke, I am having the same issue with my 21 accord sport. What steps did you take to resolve your issue? My car is also locking the doors at low speeds ever since this issue started. My car doesn’t blink or make a sound when it locks. What should I do? Thank you!
@@alvinfabian6852 as I said, I had a door that was locked and not openable from the outside. I had to go inside and unlock it. If it’s like my issue, then one door, or latch is malfunctioning somehow. Check all possible lockable openings
@@coolhandpaulnewman yeah I did that. My back passenger door wasn’t locking with the rest so I manually locked it and after that all the locks were in sync and everything starting working again. Thanks
Before going so deep, make sure manually lock and unlock doors lockers. That's was my problem. I just changed the remote battery, but it didn't work. I checked 4 doors, the rear door and front hood. My right rear door lock was steel locked. I opened manually after that remote was fine.
Thank you boss , it worked like a charm on my 2020 honda city. Didnt beep when locking the car and when i looked under the hood the switch harness was disconected. Blessings 👍👍
Thanks so much bruhh! My City's hood was not closed properly and I was trembling in worry to take my car for repair or something. It started now using key, thanks again!
Previously, my 2021 Honda hatchback was functioning, but now it is not working. Upon inspecting the hood latch, I noticed the absence of a connector in the lock. I believe the garage that serviced my vehicle may have neglected to reinstall it, or perhaps they deliberately removed it. Could you please guide me on where to locate the connector within the hood? I intend to examine if there is an unplugged cable in that area.
Thanks, I was wondering why nothing was happening, so I check the hood trunk and realized that one of my back door was unlock, and I didn't notice this for almost an hour, because I was turning the car on to check the display, but not the engine, only when you turn the engine on then it tells you that a back door is open.
Thanks, I know someone who drove a car with an unlocked hood for a bit😂. It was the lack of answer back that made us find out that the hood had been unlocked.
had this exact issue, bridging worked, heard the alarm for the first time, cheers, might need a new hood latch as well, even when plugged in it doesn't work.
my 2004 CRV has the same problem, I will try to buy a new lock. hope to solve the problem. thanks a lot, due. best wishes, BTW, it might be a lock problem on 5 doors also.
thanks bro for the video. this troubleshoot works for my 2016 honda hrv having the same issue. finally i can now sleep soundly at night, as i already find the solution to the locking issue. getting it fixed asap, as i will need to find a replacement hood latch in singapore and get it fixed diy style!!! cheers
@@DIYAutoworksNG Thank you very much for greetings. You are a real professional for me with great personal culture - you always reply to all comments, it's a rarity these days.
I have the same problem with my 2017 Honda Accord LX, it don’t have the remote start but when I try to lock my car it won’t blink or either give any sound. It was on an accident like yours in the video. When I was checking the hood latch, it looks like the connector on the latch will move exactly like yours. I did change the latch with the new one but the problem still persists. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Did you try to bridge the hood latch switch directly and test? You may have to check for continuity by using a multimeter on the connector for the switch. Just to make sure there's no short in the wiring.
@@DIYAutoworksNG I feel like there is something wrong with the connector or say sensor connected to my car. I tried using paper clip but it didn’t work and I thought maybe I didn’t touch the wire inside because it was so tiny and hard to connect. While using the multimeter, do I pick (certain) amp to test it out ?
You will just set the multimeter to the continuity setting. If you Google "multimeter continuity symbol", you should see what the setting symbol looks like. Then, plug the probes of the multimeter one in each of the holes of the connector. It should have continuity (give off an audible beep) if the circuit is complete and there's no short in the wiring. If there's no continuity, you would need to trace the wiring/circuit components to get to the short. Hope this helps
Did you get it to work? On my old Honda Civic sometimes I would slam the seat belt buckle in-between the driver's side door. It would push the black button of the little switch in that's in the door opening in (kind of like a button on a refrigerator). This would cause the doors to not make that beep to let me know that the lights were left on. You can check all of those black buttons in-between your car doors are sticking out properly and not pushed in. If pushed in you can first try and pull it back out by hand. Or you may need to get a screwdriver to loosen the screw that holds the switch inplace, straighten the switch back out and tighten the screw back. Please let us RUclipsrs know what happens.
Thanks for this video. I have a 2015 Accord that was involved in a front end collision and the anti theft light does not flash and no flashing lights when I press lock on the fob and no beep. Replaced the hood latch just like you did because after watching your video I found out whoever repaired the car put a hood latch that doesnt have alarm sensor. So I replaced it with correct latch but still doesnt work. Horn does work and car beeps if I get out and walk away with the fob but alarm does not seem to work. Could it be a fuse or something? Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
May be the wiring from the socket up? Try this. Bridge the connection at the socket for the hood latch, lock the car. Then pull off the bridge. If the alarm goes off, that circuit is good. If it doesn't, there's a breech post the socket.
Thank you for this video. I got to the part to disconnect the cable, used a paper clip (wow those two holes were tiny at the connector) but still have the same issue. Do you think I need to use a copper wire instead to bridge the sensor? Thank you again!
Thanks for this video! My Honda civic 2014s' alarm kept going off so I disconnected the sensor but, Will it keep going off still know that it doesn't sense that the hood latch sensor?
If it's going off as described, it sounds like some partial contact in the circuit for the alarm. I'm not sure of the schematics for your car, but I'd start with inspecting, testing and cleaning the fuse/relay (as appropriate) in the circuit. Also inspect the wiring and other connections. Inspect and clean the grounds too. The alarm will keep going off, though silently.
My car was remotely broken into or hacked today and so far I went through the first option making sure everything is closed but I’m still not getting a beep feed back or anti theft light flashing. At first glance everything seemed fine with the hood latch but I’ll have to double check tomorrow. Also there was no damage to the hood it seemed like since they were able to get into my car anyways without breaking windows. Any tips? Car hasn’t had any collisions so I can’t see it being that latch. Thank you
Sorry to hear your car was broken into. Any sign of forced entry? Just be sure to check the door switches in the door jam area. Just go step by step through those items I pointed out, you should find the culprit.
@@DIYAutoworksNG everything was clean as far as them getting into the car. No broken windows or signs of something being pried open. But I’ll check the door switches thank you
Hi boss! Thanks for this amazing video. I have a somewhat different issue with my driver side back door and remote start won’t work. It seems all the doors lock fine but when I open the driver door, for some reason the rear door of the driver side is indicated as opened on the dashboard. However, when I close the driver door, the rear door indicator also goes off. I can remotely lock all doors and none will open when I manually try to open them, but the remote start won’t work. I have a feeling, this is because of the rear door acting up. Any idea what the issue might be? And I got a mechanic to fix a car alarm system recently and this started happening. No doubt they may have tweaked something mistakenly in there.
Thanks for the compliment! Yea sounds like the aftermarket alarm system may be interfering with the native anti-theft system. Makes sense to start troubleshooting from there. Maybe revert to original, test remote start etc and see.
Possibly know why my 2020 civics passenger window, manual lock, and sunroof stopped working? Right around the same time. No flash on lock and no remote start also.
Very informative. I have a little bit different issue. When I lock by the fob or at the door handle button, the beep became very very faint (low). What could be the cause for this and more importantly, what would the fix be for this?
Is it very cold in your area? That's one reason that can cause this. Other than that, you can inspect the buzzer to see that it's not clogged with mud, snow etc. It's under the rear bumper on the driver side. You won't need to dismantle anything. Just have a peep. You can lock the car as you try to locate it. It's black with an electrical connector coming out of it.
@@DIYAutoworksNG it’s the middle of summer. There are no cold days now. I found the unit but did not remove it. There doesn’t seem to be any unusual dirt on it. Can the part be purchased from a Honda dealer? I think if so, it would be very easy to replace myself.
why my honda 2018 (led headlight- left side)only fron turn signal (left side) does not work? Also, same fron left headlight (LED) when switch FOB key off front right headlighs flash but not left. Can you help if this is light bulb or rely? Please share experience. Thanks
@@DIYAutoworksNG Thanks, no all good but problem from inside headlight there are 2 ballst one for headlight another for turn light and day light. So how can I get such ballast? hard to find in ebay/interent. Any suggestion
Thanks for sharing the video. It is tremendously helpful!. Do you mind sharing the part# or the name of the part you replaced? I assume you did not replace the whole hood lock assembly?
2017 Honda Accord. (recently had Honda service replace backup camera a few weeks ago) panel flashes and clicks. we have disconnected and reset. No remote start. Alarm just went off in drive way... remote doesn't work until I crank car. Then turned off engine, lock via remote, and went back inside. couple hours later, repeat...alarm goes off in driveway, nothing works until I crank car and turn off engine, lock via remote, go back inside...and again. Think the install of the new camera a few weeks back just now shows loose connector?
My 2019 pilot LX remote starter does not work on cold engin but when the engine has been warmed up the remote starter starts to work.. do you think replacing this part will fixed it?
Ceteris paribus, at the very least you will be charged a diagnostic fee which is variable depending on the dealer ($70 - $100+) and then a fee for labour if it turns out you need a part replaced. I assume you are the 🇺🇸. Price quoted is for the US. I once had a Honda dealer in London charge £200 for diagnosis on a Honda Legend, although that was for tracing a battery drain.
How do I fix my Honda Civic 2020. It no longer locks when I walk away from it and I have the setting turned on. It worked until the battery went dead in the fob
Haven't owned a Honda with the walk away auto lock function, however, I'd you rule one after the other the things that may make it not work. I don't think they will be that different from those I shared in the video: hood latch, a broken door lock actuator etc. If you're certain you've done all of that, also check online for specific solutions to your model. Just hoping it would be a programming issue. I doubt.
Just go through all the points flagged in the video. Be sure your hood isn't open. Also, sometimes it just stops working by itself, disabling and re-enabling it gets it back up.
I have all these issues with my 2017 Honda CRV Touring. I just bought a new hood latch. Replaced it and I'm still experiencing these issues. What else could it be?
I have this exact issue but I'm scheduled for an engine oil changed next Tuesday and they told me they'll gonna check it also. Just changed the batteries today for the 2 fobs and still have this issue
I have a Honda Cvic FK7 2018 from Japan, equipped with Gathers Audio System, and car dashboard in japanese. My remote start function has been disable, most probably because of car battery changed. I have a 2018 HONDA ACCORD, and I can lock and unlock the doors but no sound will come out of it, also I can’t remote start the vehicle. I did want to mention that I did installed an audio system in my car and don’t know if that affected it?
Hello I have all the listed issues plus the hard key won’t open the door…. it’s a Honda sport 2020 I followed the steps in your video and the hood switch seem to work fine the fault is from elsewhere A foxwell NT726 scanner reveals only one fault P2583-87 Kindly advise…
It's suspect that the hard key won't open the door. Does it turn when it goes in or it doesn't? Seems the key cylinder is stuck. The code refers to the radar system which works with Honda Sensing. I don't have much experience with this unfortunately. Car still under warranty? The hard key may have something to do with it but not sure. Any lights on the dash?
Hi, i just wanted to ask about the same problem everyone else is having. My car blinks on unlock function but does not blink or make sounds on lock function. I have checked the doors, closed them, one by one and it also gave me the beep sound that its closed. Tried the hood as well and had it closed shut. Now, it was actually my first time in a year or so ever opening the hood. Is it possible that the pins of the hood as you mentioned in the video be the problem when the hood was never opened recently? The problem started just 2 days ago randomly. I just wanted to know before calling and taking it in
@@DIYAutoworksNG Thanks for the reply. I have tried that manually as well and seemed to not work unfortunately. Update: Ive noticed that the my back doors are not opening when i open driver's door. The setting for that is one and i have tried enabling and disabling

Hello, I tried to test my hood latch and when I disconnected and bridged the connector, I get the same results. The walk away feature beeps when the doors shut , but the second beep and flash do not work. No trunk or door lights show up. Was wig there was anything else to check
Do you mean it turns on remotely and turns off immediately? Or that it turns off after a while? The remote start system turns off after 15mins of idling.
my 2016, has a similar issue, however the lights do flash and it does beep upon locking. Remote start doesn’t work. Trunk unlock works. Only remote start doesn’t work. “Keyless entry system fault” on dash.. still trying to figure it out.
Yours is likely due to the Kelyless entry fault. You'll need a scanner with access to the keyless system to get the actual DTC and then work from there.
Honda CRV 2022 sahibiyim.
I've heard that remote start is enabled by default in these recent models but that some get sold without fobs that have the hold button. Also, functionality may differ by market, say I can't say what will obtain for Turkey. Maybe ask the Honda dealer if they can sell program the fob that has the hold button to you and enable remote start. If the answer to this is yes, it's likely its enabled. You can also go into vehicle settings and see if you have remote start in the settings. If it does, you have it. Next will then be to buy a fob with the hold button. Note that the remote must be identical with your current FCC ID

From the looks of it. It needs in person time. Are the sensors properly seated in their housing? Sometimes the rubber boots may seat well giving the impression that all is well, but the actual sensor isn't well seated. I would also look for corrosion or poor contact in the connectors. Lastly, I'll trace the wiring for an open or short.
sensors are new i just replace it. when im in the car lock it using manual latch inside or in my remote it locks but the tjing after 3 -5minutes. it beeps which i guess it send signal to the control module saying doors are open also when i drive it locks ok but again after 3-5 minutes light on dash plus beeps saying the front doors are open. when im outside the car using the remote starter (not the actual fob) its throwing error that the doors are open thus not starting the car.

Ensure hood, doors are all shut properly. Press lock button once, then press and hold the HOLD button until the turn signal lights flash. This should happen with 3 secs or so. If the light doesn't flash, then the you will need to find out why it's not working as mentioned in the video. I haven't seen the Mexico variant and so can't relate to how to access the settings. Have you checked your manual? It should be there.
Hello buddy! Need help. I have 2021 honda accord hybrid touring. I was reseting message on cluster "Smart Entry problem" by removing backup fuse 27 10amp under the hood using PDI. When I removed the fuse waited 5 min and put it back. I noticed my gauge cluster stop working, no lights and no movement in the needles. Engine is runing, shifter is work and car can drive. Do you know why gauge cluster stop working?
Hey, so I'm not familiar with why the gause isn't lighting up after removing the fuse. That Backup fuse on Honda's is generally part of the gauge module circuit. Can't really say what's happening there. Did you remove it while the car was running? Have you tried resetting the ECU? And just to be sure, the dial for controlling the dash backlighting hasn't done anything?
Honda incorporates so many things into that Backup fuse. The gauge is just one of them. Haven't seen the schematics for the 2021 Accord to know the other things there. If you don't have a scanner, you can disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few minutes to reset the ECU. Also ensure theres no flux residue on the fuse contacts.
@@DIYAutoworksNG i have removed the battery terminal for 5-10 mins. That did not change any thing. Also I like to mention couple of things 1. Sure you made good contact, with all doors and the trunk properly shut? If so, using a multimeter, confirm you have 12volts at the connector. If you do, issue is not with the hood latch.

I did not realize the service repair guy did not close the hood completely and lock it. Not until 3-days later as I was driving onto the freeway doing 60+ the car hood started bouncing up and down. I pulled over and secured it and tested the key fob my alarm worked. Jeez!
Glad this was helpful, and you were able to rectify the error.
You comment made my day! Super glad you got an age-old problem sorted.
Smae thing happened to me on a different Honda 😀. Glad you sorted it.
Had the same issue on my FN2 Type R. Using the wire to complete the circuit helped me pinpoint the faulty latch sensor, thanks!
You're welcome!
Thank you, this issue was driving me nuts but now I know how to fix it. It was my hood latch not closing.
Great
Thank you! Discovered I’d been driving around for days with the hood popped. Closed it and everything worked again.
Great to hear!
Great to hear!
Thank you for your explanation, after checking every door, noticed my engine bonnet was no closed properly that was why remote start did not work
😃 I also solved this on someone car but just shutting this partially open hood!
Thank God the hood didn't fly open in both of these instances!
Wao mil gracias, ese era mi problema y con este video fue la solucion para mi civic 2018 ahora se blquean las puertas al alejarme y enciendo remoto, muchas gracias
Excellent!
Woooh....! It worked...! Facing the same problem. But, in my case, the hood was open. Thanks.
Happy it worked for you!
Back door was not 100% closed! Easy fix thanks
😃. That silly me moment. Lol. Had it recently on a different Honda 🙈. Mine was the hood.
My car doesn’t react to literally anything from my key fob, yes the hood is off the car so I will try to jump it in the morning but please if I could pick your brain and ask a few questions off of here would be great man
Sorry to hear, man. Feel free to ping me on Instagram. That would be quicker than emails: @diyautoworksng
Awesome video man Thxs!! Turns out the body shop just forgot to push the connection tab for the hood door back in.
Cool beans😉
Disconnected plug fixed my problem exactly. 2019 Ridgeline owner.
Great to hear!
Great tips. I was wondering why the remote start wont work. Saw your video and then checked my hood and it was closed. But I popped it open anyway and closed again and now it's working. Thanks.
Great! You may have had poor contact at the hood sensor
My engine remote start not working. Remote lock and unlock working good. Any advise bro.
Haven't seen that protocol either. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I just had the hood latched replace for recall and I started having this problem
Someone left it unplugged! Stuff happens.
Glad this was helpful. Thanks for for sharing your experience too!
Thanks
It may be the actuator for the rear door, but that's too early for a 2022 car!
Before going so deep, make sure manually lock and unlock doors lockers. That's was my problem. I just changed the remote battery, but it didn't work. I checked 4 doors, the rear door and front hood. My right rear door lock was steel locked. I opened manually after that remote was fine.
Good point. Thanks!
Thank you boss , it worked like a charm on my 2020 honda city.
Didnt beep when locking the car and when i looked under the hood the switch harness was disconected.
Blessings 👍👍
Great to know it worked for you!
do u know why it was disconnected? cuz for me, all these symptoms just happened randomly out of nowhere one day
Thanks so much bruhh! My City's hood was not closed properly and I was trembling in worry to take my car for repair or something. It started now using key, thanks again!
You're welcome!
Yea. Sounds like a new hood latch. Thanks for sharing.
I also bridged it and it worked, what if I decide to leave it like that without buying a new hood latch will it cause any problems ?
my 2004 CRV has the same problem, I will try to buy a new lock. hope to solve the problem. thanks a lot, due. best wishes, BTW, it might be a lock problem on 5 doors also.
Thanks. Yep, it can be a door lock issue.
thanks bro for the video. this troubleshoot works for my 2016 honda hrv having the same issue. finally i can now sleep soundly at night, as i already find the solution to the locking issue. getting it fixed asap, as i will need to find a replacement hood latch in singapore and get it fixed diy style!!! cheers

Hope you ruled out settings too?
Yea. You just have to be sure whatever you use makes a good connection i.e. bridge.
All the best!
hood was open, thanks guy!
Glad you sorted it!
Nice work piyke our own naija scotty KILMER

Sounds like a blown fuse to me.
Thank you!!!! It was just the connector unpluged for me!!!
Great. Someone must have worked there and forgot to plug it
Very informative.
I'm sure it will be online on sites like hondapartscheap.com. Good luck.
why my honda 2018 (led headlight- left side)only fron turn signal (left side) does not work? Also, same fron left headlight (LED) when switch FOB key off front right headlighs flash but not left. Can you help if this is light bulb or rely? Please share experience. Thanks
Likely the bulb. Could be fuse depending on the configuration of the circuit. Do some checks on the engine fuse box.
I actually bought the whole hood latch. I got a used one. Cleaned and lubed it up and it looked brand new.
Did all this start after the backup replacement? Sounds like something got messed up during that fix.
My 2019 pilot LX remote starter does not work on cold engin but when the engine has been warmed up the remote starter starts to work.. do you think replacing this part will fixed it?
Does it crank and not start or it doesn't crank at all in cold weather?
What about one door not working for the Auto Unlock this fix this as well ?
One door not working is likely the actuator for that door lock...
How much would this cost at a dealership? I bought a certified 2018 Accord hybrid ex about 2 weeks ago and yesterday the remote start wasn't working.
Thankyou Man ,,, your video really helps me ,,,
Great
How do I fix my Honda Civic 2020.
I doubt.
My car is new. No accident. Suddenly the remote start and lock blinking indicators and sound not working. Thoughts?
Just go through all the points flagged in the video. Be sure your hood isn't open. Also, sometimes it just stops working by itself, disabling and re-enabling it gets it back up.
I have all these issues with my 2017 Honda CRV Touring. I just bought a new hood latch. Replaced it and I'm still experiencing these issues. What else could it be?

I have a Honda Cvic FK7 2018 from Japan, equipped with Gathers Audio System, and car dashboard in japanese. My remote start function has been disable, most probably because of car battery changed. I followed the steps in your video and the hood switch seem to work fine the fault is from elsewhere
A foxwell NT726 scanner reveals only one fault P2583-87

I just wanted to know before calling and taking it in
Try disabling the setting and re-enabling it again.

And you have those enabled in vehicle settings? Do check that the switches in the door jam areas are all good...
Hello, I did as you said, the car starts and then turns off, why do you think it could be?
Do you mean it turns on remotely and turns off immediately? Or that it turns off after a while? The remote start system turns off after 15mins of idling.
@@DIYAutoworksNG yes i tried it remotely it turns off immediately
my 2016, has a similar issue, however the lights do flash and it does beep upon locking.

Lastly, I'll trace the wiring for an open or short.
sensors are new i just replace it. when im in the car lock it using manual latch inside or in my remote it locks but the tjing after 3 -5minutes. it beeps which i guess it send signal to the control module saying doors are open also when i drive it locks ok but again after 3-5 minutes light on dash plus beeps saying the front doors are open. when im outside the car using the remote starter (not the actual fob) its throwing error that the doors are open thus not starting the car.
in my observation so far battery is holding a charge. I replaced new sensor from the dealer. both from left and right doors. seated properly.

Ensure hood, doors are all shut properly. Press lock button once, then press and hold the HOLD button until the turn signal lights flash. This should happen with 3 secs or so.
Dimming scroll is on full brightness. Are you saying the #27 backup fuse is for guage cluster? I made sure the car was off. How can I reset ECU?
Honda incorporates so many things into that Backup fuse. The gauge is just one of them. Haven't seen the schematics for the 2021 Accord to know the other things there. If you don't have a scanner, you can disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few minutes to reset the ECU. Also ensure theres no flux residue on the fuse contacts.
@@DIYAutoworksNG i have removed the battery terminal for 5-10 mins. That did not change any thing. Also I like to mention couple of things
1. In gauge " Brake " is flashing ( this starting to show when lights went out in guage cluster)
2. When i plug in the battery, cluster shows the Honda animation on full digital side of the guage cluster, but the speedometer side remain blackout except brake light flashing
Hmmm. I really don't have an idea of what this issue is. Dealer time? I just wonder whether it means something needs to be calibrated...
Hi tried to short the cable as shown in the video but that did not solve the problem. Someone have any other suggestions?
Sure you made good contact, with all doors and the trunk properly shut? If so, using a multimeter, confirm you have 12volts at the connector. If you do, issue is not with the hood latch.
As always great video @Piyke. Well done.
Thanks!
Helped me solve my issue! Thanks!
Glad it helped.
Could it be something else ? I have a 2019 accord sport and it lock but no flashing and it just stopped out of nowhere
If you are certain it's non of the things covered in the video, disable unlock/lock flash and re-enable it.
Having an issue with my remote start. Followed the instructions in the video but no luck. Can I reach out?
Maybe able to troubleshoot online. What's the exact issue you are having with remote start? Are there any other symptoms?
@@DIYAutoworksNG no other symptoms. Everything else works fine.
When I press the remote the light comes on but nothing happens.
Disable remote start in the vehicle settings, then re-enable it. Let me know if this works.
@@DIYAutoworksNG did that still not working.
2018 Honda civic, remote does not work, the car has warning lights, daytime lights on, and I can’t use the spare key on the cylinder lock, door handle won’t let me open the driver door, help?
It sounds like this needs in-person assistance. You'll need to scan the car, maybe the ECU for the proximity keys has some codes.
Fantastic Video Excellent Knowledge Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, thanks!
