I was honestly just about to ask that question. I’ve never seem child pose with knees together??🤔 are both poses OK? (I’m new to yoga! Thanks for any advice)
Same! I always have to modify it but even with modifications I never feel that comfortable in it due to my weight. Usually I just try my best in whatever is comfortable.@@geekchick4859
I'm no expert, but from what I understand, when you spread the knees more it just moves the focus of the stretch to the inside of the thighs. Knees together stretches more of the lower back. I do believe it's important to keep the toes together though.
Thank you! I used to not have problems with child's pose, but after a long break from yoga, I've found I'm so uncomfortable now. Will try these modifications and hopefully I can enjoy one of my favorite poses again 💜
Thank you, Charlie! The pose I feel everyone but I can do 😅 Been doing yoga for nearly a decade and now a yoga teacher. My bum is much closer to the back of the legs now, but I still can’t fully sit in child’s pose even with knees further apart.
I dont know rly how this pose really is...should the butt be lifted or can i sitz down to my heels and reach my arms as much i can...? what is the right position? I dont get it :D
usually it’s a relaxing position, so make yourself comfortable and just let loose. you can also try to reach far ahead of you and bring your bim back and down for a long spine and a nice little back stretch. there is no „right“ or „wrong“ and transitions are fluid sometimes. child‘s pose is closely related to puppy pose for example. and don’t fight your physical limitations. if the bum is pretty high, just relax and accept that this is were the bum wants to be.
I’ve never seen child’s pose like this. I’ve always seen it with big toes tucking and knees wide but I’m gonna try the more narrow one. It might do some nice things for my back.
Hi , question ., does the glutes need to touch the feet while resting in child pose ? Because as I stretch forward they move away from feet and rise up a bit . How do I fix this?
Thank you so much for this. For some reason when my knees bend in child’s pose, my left knee pops and feels like it’s out of socket. It’s done this since I was a child. It’s excruciating and humiliating during yoga. I usually just wait child’s pose out until everyone is finished and then keep flowing. I feel so left out though, I just can’t seem to get into this position. Do you have any suggestions?
Spreading my legs wide helped me! Not as much pressure on my belly

I used to find childs pose really relaxing, but now I've gotten stronger in climbing I find it much harder to relax into

it‘s not necessary, but you can try to bring the bum back and down if you want to and can. the most important thing is to relax in this pose.
Thank you so much❤❤❤

Can you give a tip or two for those of us whose chests get in the way? Lol
