Great video! Anyone attempting this should know that you absolutely should disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait a few minutes before starting. Otherwise you risk the SRS system engaging and possibly having an airbag go off. It's unlikely but it's not worth the risk of possible serious injury. Plus it's simple and takes very little time. I'd hate anyone to get hurt. Good luck all!
@@nobeln.6793 To prevent theft modern radios have unique codes (listed in the owner's manual when you buy the car). If you drop power the radio won't work 'til you put in the code. So if you steal a modern radio it won't work for you.
@8000RPM. I mean this video is about replacing the radio, me personally I'm only doing this cause I bought my car used and it didn't come with the code, so I figured I'd just get a better one
Good video! A friend just asked me to look at his factory radio and see if it works and if not, put in an aftermarket. Showed me exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!
Thank you! I think a wire has gone loose in my Honda’s radio, because the backlight is off and it occasionally plays from only one speaker, so I’m going to take a look at it. I’m hoping I don’t have to replace it
Instead of prying the dash (easy to break), because it can be very tight, is to open glovebox and use a large flat screwdriver to pry dash out. Put it into a slot in side of radio and pry against the bracket next to radio.
This is a great video....just remember, you may have to show those stubborn attachment clips who's boss... BTW, I have better luck removing the radio bezel from the top rather than the bottom.
Jp i have a 05 civic lx special edition 4 door it has the silver double din radio i bought a alpine and kit 809 to put back together do u have a video or any idea on how this install would go ?
Are those HVAC brass screws the same ones being used to hold in that big radio bracket? Because I’m needing to buy a new radio bracket with screws and don’t have a screw to reference, but the HVAC controls looks like to uses the same one
What about the anti theft system? Thought it was tied into the radio. If you or anyone could shed some light on this topic I'm all ears. Thanks by the way great video.
if you are installing a new radio you should have no problems. if you reconnect the same one then you need to re-enter the code which you can get for free at any honda dealer
Aussie edition 2005, the centre panel won't pop up, as it's screwed from bottom!! Instead take the screws out - 4 off- then lift out the whole centre console!! From there, proceed as video..
You’ve helped me get probably 5 cars apart now. Thank you sir
Lol thank you for watching

Make sure you know the radio activation code before dropping power.
@@8000RPM. what is that?

Does the antenna plug for stock work on the radio or did you have to buy an adapter?
