It's almost perfect. But it's just not quite powerful enough yet. It could be a little more ergonomic. And I don't like that it needs active cooling. Maybe they will fix this in the Retroid Pocket Flip 2?
5:09 playing fps games using analog controls are freaking terrible. if you want to play fps android games using controller at least enable gyro, you'll have a better experience and your welcome!
I really want one. But im worried about the hinge or anything breaking. Could someone assure me that if im careful that everything is good? I dont want to have buyers remorse if it broke. Also should i order this or wait for an inevitable flip plus or upgrade?
We have sold quite a few of the Flip models already and I don't think we have had any issues with the hinge breaking due to design. Providing you are careful with it, i.e. don't push it back further than it should do, you should have no issues. There is a Retroid Pocket 2S coming out, but that is a different processor. Nothing has been announced such as Flip Plus or Pocket 4 as yet.
@DroiX_Store Thank you very much! I started turning my Samsung Tablet S6 into an emulation station. But I still would love a pocket-sized handheld. I can play on the go more or in bed. I love my tablet and laptop for emulation as well. It's just hard to lay in bed with a tablet/ laptop using a controller. When it be nice sometimes to have an all in one form factor. Looks like I'll be bouncing between the tablet and the handheld. I think I'll pick up a flip next month. But if they announce something else by then. Maybe I'll hold out. I thank you for the reassurance, though. Because I love clamshell designs and would love to see more of that form factor done. I'd love if Steam deck or even the next Nintendo Switch dabbled into a clamshell style. It is ideal for me. Like a dockable clamshell is my idea. Where you fold it and dock it for console style play. But on the go, you grab it out of dock, and it could unfold for playing with built in controls/ or better removable style controller. Sorry for geeking out lol. I'm definitely keeping my eyes on the Retroid line of products, especially that Flip. 😊

I really want one, it's so cool but they they didn't make their signature yellow colour available as an option seems odd (that's the colour I want). Having heard the stories of delays and additional fees when ordering direct from retroid, I think when I do buy one of these things I will get it from yourselves!
Yeah maybe it is a lack of demand issue with certain colours, there are less than usual for this model. Maybe we will see more colours in the future though. We look forward to you buying from us!

If it helps, I ordered mine on 4/20, and it just shipped out yesterday. It will ship from China to my country, which may take another 1-3 weeks for the delivery to complete.
We are expecting them around June 6th and will be dispatching straight away to customers from UK. Depending where you are we have next day for UK, and usually 2-5 working days for outside UK.

Im thinking of getting the retroid pocket flip, but im worried about the hinge, has yours broke or shown signs of cracking?
The newer models we sell have the revised hinge design which resolves this issue.

RP3+ is a good choice, basically the same performance as the Flip. And it has the yellow/orange colour!
I’ve heard the hinges break easily too. The RP3+ is a great pocketable device and I like the color options.
