Thanks for showing off Sparkster. The Rocket Knight series definitely needs more love. As for the Flip, I chose it over the 3+ since it's pretty much perfect to put in my pocket for work. I'll probably get the 3+ down the line for the analog sticks though.
I just find it hard to believe that they couldn't fit actual analogue sticks in when GPD managed it back in 2015. Sure those ones didn't click but you'd think tech would have improved since then.

For the upper tier it will struggle, but I wouldn't say it's an underpowered handheld. Next bump in power is at around the 200$ mark, but the flip seems slightly too expensive when the 3+ is perfectly priced.
I'm kind of disappointed you didn't try Old faithful outrun 2006, although it was really nice to see one of my new favorites Lotus 2. Thanks for another great video. ❤

Could you do some tests of the real world battery life? Or a timelapse perhaps? I’m trying to get some numbers on the power efficiency and battery life for GameCube/ps2 emulation, as well as GBA, to figure out what I want to bring hiking/traveling. TDP of the chip is one thing, but the full device draw is obviously what matters. I’m sure a lot of people would love a video comparing the battery life of a selection of handhelds all playing the same game.
If you want this primarily for PS2 or GameCube, I'd suggest look at a different handheld. This can play some games, but it's really hit and miss. Check retroid pocket 3+ videos, it's really on the edge. Battery held up for around 9 hours with us mucking about with it

TBH at the moment, latency in regards to the Android system is quite minimal. Most of the lag will be due to the emulator or core that is being used rather than the actual operating system. Do you have any rhythm games in mind?
Good to hear. The best rythm example I have where not-low-enough Latency is showing up as lower score is a Game Boy Color - or was it an Advance - game. I'll find the title and let you know.
It was Rhythm Tengoku's intro test - you get a "print" of how well you do. On the Analogue Pocket and on thd MiSTer most of the dots are placed too early when I play it - that's on left side of the vertical center line. On Android, however, I remember the dots being too late (on the right side of the line).

Human error is the main problem, but as I mentioned earlier, there are multiple gba emulators / cores, both in retroarch as well as standalone android emulator. Then you can use runahead in retroarch to lower latency again. Then there's the "which version of Android", control drivers, and things that can effect latency which varies from system to system.
Agreed. Visual latency is often lower than the audio latency and in rythm games audio latency is quite important. And, yes, even with the same settings on different devices you can't be sure that you've reached their lowest possible latency. I've done tests on visual latency because I sensed that the latency was too high (in e.g. Bomb Jack). The tests showed that an old Anbernic running Linux had lower latency than two new powerful Android devices (Odin and GPD+) - as I feared and sensed. I haven't found a way to get low-enough latency on my Android handhelds but I've found Steam Deck's and PSVita's latency in emulation low enough for me (both Linux based). Some day I'll measure them too - and the RP3+

I currently own a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and I just couldn't get retroarch to detect any keyboard that I plugged in and the controller setup for point and click titles didn't work either. Definitely purchase a Retroid Pocket 3+ soon. I'll have to follow a lot of setup guides though.
@@papa_sloth_gaming547 In Android, you'll have more than one way to add Scummvm (RetroArch, Android Apk etc), and using the touch screen it should be much easier to set up. We like the RP3+ better than the flip, and the Pi3b+... Good choice.
Seems like a decent Handheld to me BUT i already got the Retroid Pocket 3+, so it is not a big upgrade for me and i don't like the analog sticks on the flip. sadly gamecube still seems not to run perfect.

I did a comparison and using DHL or even the other option it costs less now to get the flip than the 3+ which doesn't make sense to me

There are plenty of videos showing how they run on the retroid pocket 3+. It's the same chipset, so the guides will work for the flip the same way.

N64 is just a system that is janky to emulate. You'd need to switch graphic settings in the emulator.

Yeah of course. If you're into point and click you can install scummvm and use either thumbstick or screen
