I think it's also important to state that the current leadership of 343i is not the same as the ones who made such poor decisions like having a "no Bungie hires" policy and firing Joe Staten. It could be that all those horrible management decisions left when Bonnie, Frankie, and Kiki all were removed from the studio. I'm not saying the current management is absolved of poor decisions, but I just want to put into perspective that the old guard is not there anymore and likely the new management is trying to turn a cruise ship on a dime but have to undo so many detrimental mistakes from the past management.
If 343's current leadership fumble the release of the next Halo in anyway, the IP will be truly dead. Infinite in regards to gameplay and presentation felt like a return to form while innovating on the core gameplay, and for the first weeks people were genuinely happy and optimistic for the franchise, but the content drought, lack of sandbox updates, and the fact that we still couldn't get split screen, firefight and forge on release killed player's interest and hope for the game, especially when we compare it to previous releases like Halo Reach 14 years ago, which was able to launch as a complete game. Not to mention locking customization behind one of the worst in-game shops out there.
It'll be years before we even see a course correction, assuming it'll even happen at all. I'd say just dissolve 343 and assign Halo to Certain Affinity, but hey, I'd like to be proven wrong.

It's really never been a thing if you ask me. At least one that makes any sense. Yeah Bungie now (Destiny Era) sucks, but Halo era Bungie was undeniably better than 343 in pretty much every way. The track record of both studios speak for themselves.
I have literally been saying for the last number of years is that the community is going to have to make a choice in the fork of the road with this IP because Microsoft and 343 controls the IP and how its made, sure they can listen to us, but what it comes down to is that they do not want anything to do with the Bungie Era of Halo at all (even Bungie Development cycles was a nightmare, remember Halo 2?). So I guess if people just keep buying the games plus the microtransactions, they will keep making Halo, but its going to be in the style of how the vast FPS community wants the game to be.
The sad thing is that most people just don't care. Even within the hardcore fanbase people will be pissed off and tired of this nonsense forever and then as soon as the next Halo game's trailer drops, they'll all forget everything on the spot and be as giddy and excited as can be. I think it's also important to state that the current leadership of 343i is not the same as the ones who made such poor decisions like having a "no Bungie hires" policy and firing Joe Staten. It could be that all those horrible management decisions left when Bonnie, Frankie, and Kiki all were removed from the studio.
I'm not saying the current management is absolved of poor decisions, but I just want to put into perspective that the old guard is not there anymore and likely the new management is trying to turn a cruise ship on a dime but have to undo so many detrimental mistakes from the past management.
If 343's current leadership fumble the release of the next Halo in anyway, the IP will be truly dead.
Infinite in regards to gameplay and presentation felt like a return to form while innovating on the core gameplay, and for the first weeks people were genuinely happy and optimistic for the franchise, but the content drought, lack of sandbox updates, and the fact that we still couldn't get split screen, firefight and forge on release killed player's interest and hope for the game, especially when we compare it to previous releases like Halo Reach 14 years ago, which was able to launch as a complete game.
Not to mention locking customization behind one of the worst in-game shops out there.
And considering Frankie was ex-Bungie that's kinda weird that they were like that.
It'll be years before we even see a course correction, assuming it'll even happen at all. I'd say just dissolve 343 and assign Halo to Certain Affinity, but hey, I'd like to be proven wrong.

It's really never been a thing if you ask me. At least one that makes any sense. Yeah Bungie now (Destiny Era) sucks, but Halo era Bungie was undeniably better than 343 in pretty much every way.

I have literally been saying for the last number of years is that the community is going to have to make a choice in the fork of the road with this IP because Microsoft and 343 controls the IP and how its made, sure they can listen to us, but what it comes down to is that they do not want anything to do with the Bungie Era of Halo at all (even Bungie Development cycles was a nightmare, remember Halo 2?). So I guess if people just keep buying the games plus the microtransactions, they will keep making Halo, but its going to be in the style of how the vast FPS community wants the game to be.
The sad thing is that most people just don't care. Even within the hardcore fanbase people will be pissed off and tired of this nonsense forever and then as soon as the next Halo game's trailer drops, they'll all forget everything on the spot and be as giddy and excited as can be.
